In decades, the demand for event planning and management fields with specialty niches has extremely increased. Event planning is an important process towards the successful execution of an event as clients struggle to get suitable event managers and service providers for their events. Classification of events is a wide subject at which managerial expertise differs for different event types. Thus, understanding the event type is crucial for efficient collection of client's requirements aiming for client's satisfaction. This research is aimed at developing a mobile application "Emotive Events", acting as an event planner that maintains time and budget for a private event including funeral considering multiple religions and birth parties and addresses many features such as checklists creation, guest list, religion-based services, online payments, a collaboration of service providers/services that most existing applications typically lack all in one place. The theoretical framework is based on a systematic literature review (SLR) and web content analysis (CA) techniques. For the mobile application development, an Agile system development life cycle (SDLC) methodology was employed at which two questionnaires were conducted, one for collecting user and application requirements, while the other for the mobile application's evaluation. The research outcomes recognized the shortcomings of the currently used event planning applications, informed the requirements of the "Emotive event" mobile application which revealed 86.23% of acceptance in terms of application's usability.

Author are interested in creating a dynamic website that connected to databases that created using MySQL. This website is created using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 coupled with PHP. Given this website, clinic can interact and share all information contained in the arroud hospital, with the aim to help hospital improve the quality of the hospital service. The website can be accessed anytime and anywhere wit theresult thet the boundaries of teme and distance would not ber a problem anymore for customers to understand about the information and hospital service. This website will dynamically present information that is always up to date.

Abstrak - Internet merupakan salah satu teknologi yang dapat mengolah informasi dengan cepat, akurat dan dapat menjangkau seluruh belahan dunia. Informasi ditampilkan dalam bentuk yang menarik, dinamis, dan interaktif melalui world wide web yang biasanya disebut dengan homepage atau website. Penulis tertarik untuk membuat website djnamis yang terhubung databse yang dibuat menggunakan MySQL, Website ini dibuat menggunakan Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 yang dipadukan dengan PHP. Dengan adanya website ini, petugas rumah sakit dapat berinteraksi dan berbagi semua informasi yang ada dalam ruang lingkup rumah sakit dengan tujuan untuk membantu rumah sakit dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan rumah sakit terutama dalam penggunaan teknologi informasi. The information systems analysis and design methodologies devised at the outbreak of the third industrial revolution shaped the systems analysis disciple and have trickled down to all systems influencing most aspects of human development. To cope with the explosion of digital technology, these methodologies had to be developed rapidly, drawing from a wide range of theoretical backgrounds, based mainly on the "hard" scientific method and the "softer" systems approach. In the run-up to industry 4.0, with multiple information systems emerging, reflection on systems' design fundamentals is important. Intended to serve human activity and well-being, information systems are anthropocentric. Their success lies in their ability to serve human goals. Information systems analysis and design methodologies play a role in this by ensuring the best match between what is sought from systems and what they deliver in terms of the systems' underlying final cause, or "telos". The paper investigates the teleological orientation of four founding systems analysis and design methodologies. Using the Wood-Harper and Fitzgerald taxonomy in order to identify the conceptual origins of the four methodologies under review, it categorizes and subsequently incorporates them in an extended taxonomy, assesses whether and how they are devised to cater to the incorporation of goals and explains the inferred results based on the taxonomy. The paper posits that the founding information systems analysis and design methodologies do not have a marked teleological orientation and do not dispose of techniques for adequately incorporating systems' goals.

This study investigated how the following factors: Perceived Usefulness; Perceived ease of use; Perceived cost of deploying ICT; Owner/Top management support; Organizational Readiness, influence the adoption and use of ICT Systems (Mobile Phones, Computer Systems, Use of Business software, Access to Internet, Use of Email, Use of Bulk SMS, Use of Enterprise Website) by Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. Hypotheses were derived from the extant literature on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Technology-Organization-Environment Model (TOE). Questionnaire was used which included a five-point Likert scale having the ratings of "strongly disagree" (1) to "strongly agree" (5) for use by respondents in indicating their response to each of the items asked. 37 SMEs in Omoku Town, Abua Town and some part of Port-Harcourt main city all in Rivers State, Nigeria, were selected. The research result shows that 54.1 percent of the SMEs use computers, showing that more than half of the SMEs have actually adopted and used ICT systems and services, 91.9 percent use GSM/TELEPHONE for communication, 35.1 percent use internet facility,18.9 percent have corporate websites, 13.5 percent use BULK SMS for communicating to their customers. The mean of all the variables is more than 3.0, thus all the hypotheses are supported. Perceived usefulness of ICT had a mean of 4.11 showing a clear understanding of the usefulness and benefit of ICT by SMEs in Nigeria. On the average the respondents agreed that ICT systems and services are not easy to use. Most of the SMEs Owner/Top Managers agreed that the cost of deploying ICT systems and services is high and could be an inhibitor, this agreed with earlier research by Irefin, Abdul-Azeez and Tijani (2012). Management of SMEs should provide adequate pre-training to their employees on how to use ICT systems in business at all levels.

The most effective way to protect information and information systems is to integrate security into every step of the system development process, from the initiation of a project to develop a system to its disposition. The multistep process that starts with the initiation, analysis, design, and implementation, and continues through the maintenance and disposal of the system, is called the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The Information Technology Laboratory of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently updated its general guide that helps organizations plan for and implement security throughout the SDLC. The revised guide provides basic information about the comprehensive approach that NIST has developed for managing risks to systems and for providing the appropriate levels of information security based on the levels of risk. Federal agencies are directed to incorporate security controls and services into the SDLC under the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-130, Appendix III.

Survey research has an important place in marketing evaluations and assessments, and in opinion attitude polling and a wide range of behavioral-social research. It is somewhat surprising that certain inefficient and time consuming procedures in survey research have received but little attention.

This paper reports upon a major and fundamental development in survey-behavioral research. The Questronic project based at the University of Sheffield and its first commercialized product, The Ferranti Market Research Terminal (MRT), focuses upon the procedures of data recording techniques, data preparation and evaluation and, for example, has sought to remove the tedious and costly subsequent encoding and data preparation for input to the computer from field situations. Hopefully, the achievements of the Questronic project to-date will provide an impetus for behavioral research in general, and will be of particular advantage in market, opinion, economic, social and medical-survey research programmes.

One of the hallmark characteristics of information infrastructures is their gradual evolution to adapt to changes in
technologies and requirements from diverse user groups. Evolution manifests through innovations on and within
infrastructures as they respond to the changes. These innovations, however, are not straight forward, following
complexities in technologies, organizations, and actors. Few succeed, some take too long while others fail to even start.
This study, therefore, investigates the social and technical conditions enabling innovations on information
infrastructures. We employed a qualitative case study method where we investigated the development of a mobile
platform called DHIS2 touch. Our key contribution is that of identifying the social and technical factors enabling
innovations on information infrastructures to complement the existing discourses on how innovations are enabled. We,
in particular, identified eight conditions enabling innovations on information infrastructures and we classify them into
three categories – structural arrangements, technical facilities, and process support. We argue that in the course of
cultivating an infrastructure, these conditions need to be created and nurtured.

The first part of this two-part essay on the role of critically systemic discourse in ISD, "A philosophical staircase for information systems definition, design, and development (ISD)," presented a philosophical staircase that can guide IS practitioners in identifying the various validity claims raised by any project of ISD. It was concluded that the discursive principle is constitutive of every step in this staircase but requires pragmatization. The present second part of the paper begins with a short review of the way in which the discursive principle has been considered in the ISD literature thus far. It then introduces the second main pillar of the suggested approach to reflective practice in ISD, critically systemic discourse. The methodological core concept of critically systemic discourse is boundary critique, a concept based in the author’s work on critical systems heuristics and critical systems thinking. Based on this core concept and a practical application, a three-stage model for reflective practice in ISD is suggested.

In a series of publications, we have proposed a foundational system of ontological categories which has been successfully used to evaluate and im- prove the quality of conceptual modeling grammars and models. In this article, we continue this work by using this foundational ontology to provide real-world semantics and sound modeling guidelines for one of the most fundamental (and yet one of the most problematic) constructs in conceptual modeling, namely, the relationship type. In addition, we systematically compare our approach with a classical ontological treatment of this construct in the literature, provided by the BWW framework.

The discipline of information systems (IS) at the university of Bahrain (UOB) is characterized by its dynamicity and diversity in terms of the employment of diverse and up to date information technologies to achieve the strategic goals and dynamic operational objectives of organizations. However, the UOB-IS graduates and IS job employers alongside face difficulties in job seeking/provision. Seekers hardly find the best matching job offerings to their degree qualifications and skills, while employers hardly find the best candidates for the required job positions. This project is aimed at developing a Bahraini web-based job offering portal (J4IS) that acts as an automated recruiter for the job seekers and employers to facilitate an efficient and professional medium of communication and time and cost reduction tool to seek/provide suitable jobs for both sides. The theoretical framework is based on a systematic literature review (SLR) and web content analysis (CA) techniques. For the portal's application development, a six phased system development life cycle (SDLC) methodology was employed at which three questionnaires, two of which were conducted for collecting user and system requirements, while the third was for the web portal's evaluation. The research outcomes recognized the nature of the Bahraini workforce and the qualifications and skills of the UOB-IS graduates, the shortcomings of the commercial online job portals and the related reasons, and subsequently informed the user (seekers and employers) requirements of the developed "J4IS" which revealed a 94% of usability acceptance.

A computer is an electronic machine that accepts information, stores it until the information is needed, processes the information according to the instructions provided by the user, and finally returns the results to the user. The computer can store and manipulate large quantities of data at very high speed, but a computer cannot think. A computer makes decisions based on simple comparisons such as one number being larger than another. Although the computer can help solve a tremendous variety of problems, it is simply a machine. It cannot solve problems on its own. History of Computers Since civilizations began, many of the advances made by science and technology have depended upon the ability to process large amounts of data and perform complex mathematical calculations. For thousands of years, mathematicians, scientists and businessmen have searched for computing machines that could perform calculations and analyze data quickly and efficiently. One such device was the abacus. The abacus was an important counting machine in ancient Babylon, China, and throughout Europe where it was used until the late middle ages. It was followed by a series of improvements in mechanical counting machines that led up to the development of accurate mechanical adding machines in the 1930's. These machines used a complicated assortment of gears and levers to perform the calculations but they were far to slow to be of much use to scientists. Also, a machine capable of making simple decisions such as which number is larger was needed. A machine capable of making decisions is called a computer. The first computer like machine was the Mark I developed by a team from IBM and Harvard University. It used mechanical telephone relays to store information and it processed data entered on punch cards. This machine was not a true computer since it could not make decisions. In June 1943, work began on the world's first electronic computer. It was built at the University of Pennsylvania as a secret military project during World War II and was to be used to calculate the trajectory of artillery shells. It covered 1500 square feet and weighed 30 tons. The project was not completed until 1946 but the effort was not wasted. In one of its first demonstrations, the computer solved a problem in 20 seconds that took a team of mathematicians three days. This machine was a vast improvement over the mechanical calculating machines of the past because it used vacuum tubes instead of relay switches. It contained over 17,000 of these tubes, which were the same type tubes used in radios at that time. The invention of the transistor made smaller and less expensive computers possible. Although computers shrank in size, they were still huge by today's standards. Another innovation to computers in the 60's was storing data on tape instead of punch cards. This gave computers the ability to store and retrieve data quickly and reliably.

Focus groups to investigate new ideas are widely used in many research fields. The use of focus groups in design research poses interesting opportunities and challenges. Traditional focus group methods must be adapted to meet two specific goals of design research. For the refinement of an artifact design, exploratory focus groups (EFGs) study the artifact to propose improvements in the design. The cycle of build and evaluate using EFGs continues until the artifact is released for field test in the application environment. Then, the field test of the design artifact may employ confirmatory focus groups (CFGs) to establish the utility of the artifact in field use. Rigorous investigation of the artifact requires multiple CFGs to be run with opportunities for quantitative and qualitative data collection and analyses across the multiple CFGs. In this paper, we discuss the adaptation of focus groups to design research projects. We demonstrate the use of both EFGs and CFGs in a design research project in the health care field.

In this chapter, we present a framework for the evaluation and (re)design of modeling languages. In our approach, this property can be systemati- cally evaluated by comparing a concrete representation of the worldview underly- ing the language (captured in the language ́s meta-model), with an explicit and formal representation of a conceptualization of that domain (a reference ontology). Moreover, we elaborate on formal characterizations for the notions of reference ontology, conceptualization and meta-model, as well as on the relations between them. By doing this, we can also formally define the relation between the state of affairs in reality deemed possible by an ontology and the grammatical models ad- mitted by a modeling language. The precise characterization of this relation allows for a systematic improvement of a modeling language by incorporating ontologi- cal axioms as grammatical constraints in the language’s meta-model. Furthermore, we demonstrate how an approach based on visual simulation could be used to as- sess this relation, i.e., to evaluate the distance between the valid models of a lan- guage and the intended models according to the underlying conceptualization. Fi- nally, we demonstrate how the use of a system of formal ontological properties can be systematically exploited in the design of pragmatically efficient Domain- Specific Visual Languages.

This series of studies make it clear that a wide range of both physical and digital resources are involved in domestic music consumption. The selection of digital resources is particularly evident, and it can be observed that domestic music consumption is a fragmented business, taking advantage of many different ''channels'' for getting, using and preparing music. While there are not a series of common channels, each home displayed a variety of methods in respect to using metadata in multiple different modalities: regardless, the activities involved in getting, using and preparing music cohere through a noticeable, emergent set of workflows. We find that not only does metadata support searching, as one might expect, but also it pervades all parts of the workflow and is used in real-time as a reflexive artifact and in terms of its future perceived/ prescribed use. The findings of the research raise a series of possibilities and issues that form the basis for understanding and designing for metadata use.

This research contains an application program which was made for the integrated management information system in Balai Besar Pengembangan Latihan Kerja Dalam Negeri/ B2PLKDN Bandung, which was aimed to understand the information system of integrated management which is still running now, the holding factors and the effort of solving that problem. The data collecting method which was used in this research were the direct observation, interview and literature study which has close relevance to the problem. From the research conducted, it was found that the holding factor was that the institution is still using Microsoft Office Excel for the process of management data such as participant, region, attendance, vocational, training, competency unit, classroom and instructor assessment which is ineffective such as un-updated and redundancy data, and the solution was by making a software engineering on the integrated management using visual programming application to ease the management process so that the report can be precise and accurate. For the development of this software use object-oriented approach with the UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling, The model used is the Prototype or Prototyping and implemented with Microsoft Visual Studio and MySQL as DBMS (Database Management System) The authors offered suggestions to further enhance the integrated management information system, so that the process of administration in B2PLDKN Bandung can work faster and optimized.

System development life cycle determine how a system can sustain business requirements, product design and development as well as delivery to the end users. The report explores different life cycles used to development a system and identifies significance of following a procedural life cycle in a systems investigation.  Also, it discusses feasibility study and the effects of diverse feasibility criteria. Lastly, the paper describes a well-performed system research for Adroit Adsis Advertisement agency. The report emphasizes use of suitable technique and tools of analyzing the systems. Finally, the description presents a documentation to support a system investigation and evaluates how user and system requirements can be addressed.

Abstract: This article deals with the moral responsibility of information systems designers, in the context of professional use of these. In the exercise of this moral responsibility, economic and social dimensions will be specifically discussed here, in the sense that SI have an impact on the development and sustainability of organizations.The first part of this article is devoted to a state of the art on computer ethics. A second part presents our orientation (critical research) and our approach (which considers the SI as power devices), and concludes on the need to think an engineering of responsibility. In the third part, our contribution to this engineering is exposed in the form of a three-level model, which helps to reveal how a general vision and linked ethical values are gradually embodied in structuring principles, and binding standards.
Résumé : L'objet de cet article est de traiter de la responsabilité morale des concepteurs de systèmes d'information (SI), dans le cadre d'un usage professionnel de ceux-ci. Dans l'exercice de cette responsabilité morale, il sera ici question plus spécifiquement des dimensions économique et sociale, au sens où les SI ont un impact sur le développement et la pérennité des organisations. La première partie de cet article est consacrée à un état de l'art de l'éthique informatique. Une deuxième partie présente notre orientation (recherche critique) et notre approche (qui considère les SI comme des dispositifs de pouvoir), et conclut sur la nécessité de penser une véritable ingénierie de la responsabilité.  Dans la troisième partie, notre contribution à cette ingénierie est exposée, sous la forme d'un modèle à trois niveaux, qui permet de révéler comment une vision générale et les valeurs éthiques qui l'accompagnent, s'incarnent progressivement dans des principes structurants, puis des normes contraignantes.

An important benefit of time-domain full wave analysis of 3D electromagnetic structures is the possibility to obtain broadband information about the electromagnetic properties within a single simulation run. In the case of low-loss resonant structures like high quality filters the time-domain computation of impulse responses can become very time consuming due to the typically long duration response. System identification methods can be used to reduce the necessary computation time considerably through estimation of the transfer function's pole positions from a much shorter observation window than it would be required for classical discrete Fourier transform.

The paper proposes a critical approach to information systems definition, design, and development (ISD) grounded in discourse theory, semiotics, practical philosophy and critical systems thinking. It aims to support IS researchers and practitioners in the difficult process of identifying and scrutinizing the diverse issues they  face in any ISD project. Two main components of the approach are a hierarchic arrangement of these issues, and of the basic kinds of validity claims they imply, in the form of a philosophical staircase; and a practical framework for critical discourse on these claims called critically systemic discourse. The present first part introduces the staircase and discusses the relevance of the discursive principle for dealing with the various validity claims raised by each one of its steps. The second part will present a
discursive framework for applying the staircase.

Transfer of information with a concise format through disaster management education before a disaster with a simple presentation can be easily understood and remembered. One of the means through which large amount of data by using visualization could be easily remembered by all those engaged in disaster management training and education in emergencies is Infographics.Infographics are a mean and a method for presenting information through visualization. This mean is used in conditions where simplicity and quick conveying of meaning related to data or where transferring large amount of information, news or even scientific and technical context to the addressee is necessary. Infographic has an ability to clearly explain difficult, complicated and ambiguities in relation to facts and definitions in a very simple and an obvious manner.This paper, as a starting point will focus on introducing and comparing different traditional and modern methods and means for information and data presentation. The paper will tend to concentrate on the definition of Infographics, classifications and types of Infographics (dynamic and static) and also the different usages of this mean which is called Infographics.Continuing the paper, the important and effective role and influence of Infographics on practical disaster management training and education will be discussed in detail. Next coming up will be different samples of Infographics with a special focus on educating and training different aspects and portions of disaster managements which have been produced by the authors of this paper for the first time in Iran.At the end some alternatives will be proposed for making usage of Infographics more practical in emergencies in a way that can be used in different countries as an outcome.

As the computer literacy spreads among public servants, the focus of communication between system
analysts and users is moved on specification forms that appears formal and semi-formal documents, and
spreadsheet like descriptions. The documents are going to be planned to serve both clients and officers of
government, both external and internal processing. For system and business analyst, there is a new
situation that requires the polishing and improving the readily available methods and methodologies. For
accurate interpretations of valid requirements, the system analyst needs approaches that are grounded in
formal methods. In e-government environment, the specification of requirements happens through
calculation spreadsheet and/or office document. So that there is a need for a systematic and at least semi-
formal approach that focuses on the ubiquitous documents. The models deduced from the document-centric
point of view should be placed into an overall Information Systems Architecture. The linkage between the
models provides the opportunity for cross validation and verification to keep up the integrity and
consistency. The convoluted relationships among the models can be adequately represented by generalized
hypergraphs that offer the chances a disciplined and correct systems analysis and design procedure.

The article justifies the need for relevant and effective communication policy in modern publishing industry. Communication policy is the main tool influencing on market value of publishing company and forming the highest capability of company’s market share. This current competitive advantage comes from well-formed Information Service Department (ISD).

The ontological and epistemological positions adopted by information systems design methods are incommensur-able when pushed to their extremes.  Information systems research has therefore tended to focus on the similarities between different positions, usually in search of a single, unifying position.  However, by focusing on the similari-ties, the clarity of argument provided by any one philoso-phical position is necessarily diminished.  Consequently, researchers often treat the philosophical foundations of design methods as being of only minor importance.  In this paper, we have deliberately chosen to focus on the differences between various philosophical positions.  From this focus, we believe we can offer a clearer under-standing of the empirical behaviour of software as viewed from particular philosophical positions.  Since the em-pirical evidence does not favour any single position, we conclude by arguing for the validity of ad hoc approaches to software design which we believe provides a stronger and more theoretically grounded approach to software design.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to propose that in order to tackle the question of bias in algorithms, a systemic, sociotechnical and holistic perspective is needed. With reference to the term “algorithmic culture,” the interconnectedness and mutual shaping of society and technology are postulated. A sociotechnical approach requires translational work between and across disciplines. This conceptual paper undertakes such translational work. It exemplifies how gender and diversity studies, by bringing in expertise on addressing bias and structural inequalities, provide a crucial source for analyzing and mitigating bias in algorithmic systems. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat Perancangan Sistem Informasi Perhitungan Honor Pegawai SMAN 13 Kabupaten Tangerang. SMAN 13 Kabupaten Tangerang merupakan salah satu badan usaha yang bergerak di bidang pendidikan menghadapi masalah dalam mengolah data yang berhubungan dengan honor sampai tunjangan yang lainnya untuk memperoleh informasi yang di butuhkan, terkadang tidak akurat atau tidak tepat waktu. Padahal pengolahan data tersebut sangat penting untuk menghasilkan rekapitulasi honorium pengajar. Sistem perhitungan honor yang berjalan saat ini pada SMAN 13 Kabupaten Tangerang di lakukan dengan cara semi terkomputerisasi, yaitu hanya sebatas penyimpanan data dan pembuatan laporan dengan menggunakan Microsoft Exel dan selebihnya masih manual. Sehingga sering terjadi kesalahan dalam perhitungan honor dan proses pengerjaannya pun membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama. Untuk memperoleh data yang diperlukan selama penelitian, penulis menggunakan beberapa metode, antara lain : wawancara, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Data yang diperolah kemudian dianalisis dan digambarkan dalam bentuk Use Case dengan menggunakan software UML ver 6.4. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah berupa Sistem Informasi perhitungan honor yang dapat mempermudah bagian keuangan untuk memproses perhitungan honor. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat bagi pegawai maupun pihak sekolah pada umumnya. Kata kunci: Perancangan Sistem informasi Perhitungan Honor, SMAN 13 Kabupaten Tangerang, UML.

Numerous pitfalls can derail or bring about the end of a project: be it a large-scale piece of software for a Fortune 500 company or a simple bootstrapped mobile application built in the next internet entrepreneur's basement. Furthermore, the definition of failure is biased to each project depending on who is asked thanks to the unique lenses and perspectives an individual brings from their career and educational background. The IT literature indicates that there are many reasons for a particular project succeeding or failing. The reasons for IT failure, as identified through a particular lens, can be organized into a Technology Failure Rubric (TFR). The benefits of using the TFR is that it increases transparency into the issues facing modern IS projects, and thereby presents possible theoretical solutions from a multitude of vantage points.

The most effective way to protect information and information systems is to integrate security into every step of the system development process, from the initiation of a project to develop a system to its disposition. The multistep process that starts with the initiation, analysis, design, and implementation, and continues through the maintenance and disposal of the system, is called the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The Information Technology Laboratory of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently updated its general guide that helps organizations plan for and implement security throughout the SDLC. The revised guide provides basic information about the comprehensive approach that NIST has developed for managing risks to systems and for providing the appropriate levels of information security based on the levels of risk. Federal agencies are directed to incorporate security controls and services into the SDLC under the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-130, Appendix III.

The discipline of information systems (IS) at the university of Bahrain (UOB) is characterized by its dynamicity and diversity in terms of the employment of diverse and up to date information technologies to achieve the strategic goals and dynamic operational objectives of organizations. However, the UOB-IS graduates and IS job employers alongside face difficulties in job seeking/provision. Seekers hardly find the best matching job offerings to their degree qualifications and skills, while employers hardly find the best candidates for the required job positions. This project is aimed at developing a Bahraini web-based job offering portal (J4IS) that acts as an automated recruiter for the job seekers and employers to facilitate an efficient and professional medium of communication and time and cost reduction tool to seek/provide suitable jobs for both sides. The theoretical framework is based on a systematic literature review (SLR) and web content analysis (CA) techniques. For the portal's application development, a six phased system development life cycle (SDLC) methodology was employed at which three questionnaires, two of which were conducted for collecting user and system requirements, while the third was for the web portal's evaluation. The research outcomes recognized the nature of the Bahraini workforce and the qualifications and skills of the UOB-IS graduates, the shortcomings of the commercial online job portals and the related reasons, and subsequently informed the user (seekers and employers) requirements of the developed "J4IS" which revealed a 94% of usability acceptance.

ABSTRACT An important benefit of time-domain full wave analysis of 3D electromagnetic structures is the possibility to obtain broadband information about the electromagnetic properties within a single simulation run. In the case of low-loss resonant structures like high quality filters the time-domain computation of impulse responses can become very time consuming due to the typically long duration response. System identification methods can be used to reduce the necessary computation time considerably through estimation of the transfer function's pole positions from a much shorter observation window than it would be required for classical discrete Fourier transform.

The construction of large-scale reference conceptual models is a complex engineering activity. To develop high-quality models, a modeler must have the support of expressive engineering tools such as theoretically well-founded modeling languages and methodologies, patterns and anti-patterns and automated support environments. This paper proposes Semantic Anti-Patterns for ontologydriven conceptual modeling. These anti-patterns capture error prone modeling decisions that can result in the creation of models that allow for unintended model instances (representing undesired state of affairs). The anti-patterns presented here have been empirically elicited through an approach of conceptual models validation via visual simulation. The paper also presents a tool that is able to: automatically identify these anti-patterns in user's models, provide visualization for its consequences, and generate corrections to these models by the automatic inclusion of OCL constraints.

We present an approach for the joint design of organizational regulatory spaces (ORS). The approach was validated through action research, integrating the components of context, people, process, information, and IT. The design of the ORS is usually performed by distinct teams, with unconnected viewpoints, using different vocabularies and tools. Similarly to information systems, there are business experts that define the regulatory goals and rules. The ORS modeling is problematic, and is fragmented. We have adopted the O 2 framework to provide a common level of abstraction for the design. The result is a comprehensive and layered map of the ORS. This approach has proved to offer an effective representation of the ORS for external auditors and business associations. Internally, we provide organizations with new ways to model, communicate, and improve the regulatory space.

One of the hallmark characteristics of information infrastructures is their gradual evolution to adapt to changes in technologies and requirements from diverse user groups. Evolution manifests through innovations on and within infrastructures as they respond to the changes. These innovations, however, are not straight forward, following complexities in technologies, organizations, and actors. Few succeed, some take too long while others fail to even start. This study, therefore, investigates the social and technical conditions enabling innovations on information infrastructures. We employed a qualitative case study method where we investigated the development of a mobile platform called DHIS2 touch. Our key contribution is that of identifying the social and technical factors enabling innovations on information infrastructures to complement the existing discourses on how innovations are enabled. We, in particular, identified eight conditions enabling innovations on information infrastructures and we classify them into three categoriesstructural arrangements, technical facilities, and process support. We argue that in the course of cultivating an infrastructure, these conditions need to be created and nurtured.

This study was initiated to investigate skill/factors, the essential skills for system's designer/modeler in order to build the right information systems, that influence information systems modeling ability. The predicted variables are mathematical modeling skill, verbal modeling skill, general IT knowledge, and general business knowledge. The test was administrated to 43 students majoring in Management Information Systems (MIS), Hannam University, South Korea. In this study, we used Pearson Correlation Analysis to test the relationships among variables. Overall, our study suggested that there is a strong positive relationship between mathematical and verbal modeling skills and IS modeling ability. A marginal positive relationship between the general IT knowledge and IS modeling ability was found (p = .051), which may be caused by the small sample size. Unexpectedly, there was no relationship between general business knowledge and IS modeling ability.

Nowadays there are some concepts that indicate a new revolution in information technology and systems. Internet of Things (IoT) is one of those which produce significant changes at information systems level. In this context, information systems developers are challenged with numerous practical and theoretical controversial topics on the adaptation of information systems to the IoT characteristics. Most studies approach the new issue from the architecture perspective and the infrastructure required for communication. But, there are few approaches about functional requirements, data streaming and data processing to be adapted to the Internet of Things. This is the aim of our paper. In that regard, we proceed to identify the state-of-the-arts in this field, based on literature review, and we use the modelling methods and field of expertise. Next, we will highlight the key features that should be mastered in order to integrate the IoT into information systems for the new synchronized enterprises. Moreover, this paper will emphasize the changes related to the functional requirements based on the general framework proposed. Most functional requirements aim to change the method of data gathering, processing and communication, recording information generated by business transactions and include data that have not been considered before by business systems as they were viewed as being the main elements of technical and engineer systems.

This paper addresses a fundamental problem related to the interaction of rule-based autonomous agents in pervasive and intelligent environments. Some rules of behaviour can lead a multi-agent system to display unwanted periodic behaviour, such as networked appliances cycling on and off. We present a framework called Interaction Networks (IN) as a tool to describe and analyse this phenomena. In support of this, and as an aid to the visualisation and understanding of the temporal evolution of agent states, we offer a graphical Multidimensional Model (MDM). We describe an Instability Prevention System (INPRES) based in identifying and locking network nodes. Both IN, MDM and INPRESS enable system designers to identify and prevent such unwanted behaviour. Finally we introduce an Interaction Benchmark (IB) that we use to evaluate, experimentally, the effectiveness of our approach using both simulated and physical implementations.
