การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อการสังเคราะห์กระบวนการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบจินตวิศวกรรม
ศึกษาเปรียบเทียบนักศึกษาสาขาคอมพิวเตอร์ที่ไม่มีประสบการณ์การทำโครงงานและมีประสบการณ์การทำโครงงานที่มีต่อการเรียนรู้แบบจินตวิศวกรรมและการเรียนรู้อย่างเป็นระบบ  และศึกษาเปรียบเทียบการเรียนรู้อย่างเป็นระบบกับการเรียนรู้แบบจินตวิศวกรรมของนักศึกษาปริญญาตรีสาขาทางด้านคอมพิวเตอร์ 3 คณะวิชา  ผลการวิจัยพบว่า  การเรียนรู้แบบจินตวิศวกรรมมี 6 ด้าน 17 ขั้นตอน ประกอบด้วย  1)  การจินตนาการ (Imagine) ได้แก่ ขั้นตอนการกำหนดโจทย์จินตนาการของผลงาน (Problem) ขั้นตอนการระดมสมองจินตนาการผลงาน (Brainstorm) ขั้นตอนการแสดงความคิดเห็น (Discussion) ขั้นตอนการวิเคราะห์ความเป็นไปได้ของจินตนาการ (Feasibility)  2)  การออกแบบ (Design) ได้แก่ ขั้นตอนการร่างแบบ (Draft) ขั้นตอนการเขียนสตอรี่บอร์ด (Story board) ขั้นตอนการเขียนสคริปต์ (Script) ขั้นตอนการสร้างจำลอง (Prototype)    3)  การพัฒนา (Develop) ได้แก่ ขั้นตอนการสร้าง (Create) ขั้นตอนการทดสอบการทำงาน (Test)  4)  การนำเสนอ (Present) ได้แก่ ขั้นตอนการแสดงผลงาน (Show) ขั้นตอนการแข่งขัน (Contest) และขั้นตอนการรับฟังความคิดเห็น (Suggestion)  5)  การปรับปรุง (Improvement) ได้แก่ ขั้นตอนการแก้ไขผลงาน (Revised) ขั้นตอนการสรุปผลงาน (Conclusion)  6)  การประเมินผล (Evaluate) ได้แก่ ขั้นตอนการประเมินตามจินตนาการ (Process Evaluation) ขั้นตอนการประเมินคุณภาพงาน (Product Evaluation) 
ผลเปรียบเทียบการเรียนรู้อย่างเป็นระบบกับการเรียนรู้แบบจินตวิศวกรรมของนักศึกษาสาขาคอมพิวเตอร์ที่มีประสบการณ์ต่างกัน  พบว่า  นักศึกษาที่มีประสบการณ์การทำโครงงานและนักศึกษาที่ไม่มีประสบการณ์การทำโครงงานมีผลรวมของการเรียนรู้แบบจินตวิศวกรรมและการเรียนรู้ อยู่ในระดับมาก  ผลการเปรียบเทียบการเรียนรู้อย่างเป็นระบบกับการเรียนรู้แบบจินตวิศวกรรม พบว่า นักศึกษาสาขาคอมพิวเตอร์มีค่าเฉลี่ยของการเรียนรู้อย่างเป็นระบบกับการเรียนรู้แบบจินตวิศวกรรม แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05  ผลการเปรียบเทียบการเรียนรู้ของนักศึกษาสาขาคอมพิวเตอร์ที่ไม่มีประสบการณ์การทำโครงงานกับนักศึกษาที่มีประสบการณ์การทำโครงงาน พบว่า นักศึกษาที่มีประสบการณ์ต่างกันมีการเรียนรู้ที่แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

This short essay, built on a foundation of more than a decade of fieldwork in the hydrocarbon-rich societies of the Arabian peninsula, distills a set of overarching threads woven through much of that time and work. Those threads include a discussion of the social heterogeneity of the Gulf State citizenries, the central role of development and urban development in these emergent economies, the multifaceted impact of migrants and migration upon these host societies, and the role of foreign ‘imagineers’ in the portrayal of Gulf societies, Gulf values, and Gulf social norms.

A presentation that explores a number of Imagineering Storytelling tools - practices and principles used by Walt Disney Imagineering in the design and construction of Disney parks and attractions - and how those same tools can be applied to technical communication and information development to help us effectively communicate with our audiences.

L'approche Big Data induit d'importants risques pour les territoires et, par extension, pour nos sociétés. La « norme statistique » et la croyance aveugle dans les algorithmes peut, comme nous tentons de l'analyser dans cet article, condamner les organisations territoriales via une approche réductionniste inadaptée à la complexité croissante. Notre recherche porte sur le développement d'un nouveau genre de système territorial, que nous nommons Magitopie. Celui-ci repose par design sur une approche intégrative de données Big – Thick Data, qui place au cœur des organisations territoriales la capacitation et l'inspiration des citoyens. L'objectif est de favoriser le développement ouvert d'une « réalité sociale créative ». Cette réalité se nourrit des histoires et de l'imagination des citoyens. La finalité est la construction d'organisations territoriales capables d'appréhender efficacement la complexité, en opérant un changement de paradigme de « prédiction algorithmique du futur » à « imaginierie de futurs eutopiques ».

Il presente contributo affronta il tema dell'immaginario secondo una prospettiva pedagogica. Pertanto, vi si cerca di chiarire la nozione stessa di immaginario, soprattutto mettendola a confronto con la categoria di cultura. Successivamente, si descrive il ruolo dell'immaginario all'interno dei processi educativi e si individuano quattro dispositivi (immagine, gioco, narrazione e evento) che, in maniera specifica, costituiscono le modalità con cui l'immaginario agisce e/o può essere fatto agire dentro la formazione.

The subject of siege captured the imagination of many and gave rise to representations across a range of media, including the theatre. This dissertation focuses on the performances of four such plays in the period 1645-1686, analysing how they staged subjects of violence, and to what end. Two of these plays dealt with the subject of the historical siege of Leiden – Reynerius Bontius’ The Siege and Relief of Leyden (1645) and Jan Vos’ design of five enormous tableaux vivants that were to be performed before, during, and after Bontius’ play (1660); others were connected with recent peace treaties. In the latter category, I propose a contextualised close-reading of Govard Bidloo’s Pageant Play, on the Peace (1678) and Austria Victorious, or Conquest of Buda (1686) by the same author. For all four case studies I mobilised the neologism “imagineering,” a compound of “imaging” or “imagining” and “engineering.” This notion allows me to understand how cultural performances in early modern theatre both reflected and affected their Umwelt.

The four central chapters of this study offer a detailed analysis of the material aspects of how siege violence was staged by means of various imagineering techniques. Violence, I argue, could be told (by means of ekphrasis), explicitly shown (by means of proxemics and tableau vivant), or allegorically personified (by means of prosopopoeia). The shared aim of these techniques was to make the audience feel involved with and even witness the violent events that were being staged. The cases studied here reveal an evolution in the way violence was imagineered in the theatre, from suggestion to display. Visual means became increasingly important, as well as the use of auditory techniques and illusory theatrical machinery. Consequently, the audience experience became increasingly spectacular: immersive, highly affective, and overwhelming to the senses. This strategy of attraction catered to as much as cultivated the seventeenth-century desire to be moved and beguiled.

Spectacularly staged violence therefore provides a unique lens on how, in the course of the seventeenth century, the Dutch theatre developed into a commercial enterprise. At the same time, staged violence was employed for its potential to perform as propaganda for the urban political elite. By eliciting either horror or cheer, each performance under discussion was able to generate strong feelings towards contemporary political actors in a way that suited the local authorities. An important emotive technique towards this end was the exploitation of tropes. Imagineering conceptualises the cultural background of the audience as central to how they could make sense of the violence onstage. By reiterating the same themes and narratives that circulated throughout media, the siege plays employed their ingrained emotional effect on the audience for political ends. The other way around, the performance in its turn left an imprint on the cultural imagination of the audience, on how they could imagine the represented siege as well as how they perceived the actors involved.

Ce document constitue mon modèle théorique développé dans le cadre de ma thèse effectuée au CEREGE de Poitiers, intitulée "L'intelligence imaginieriale comme nouveau modèle d'intelligence territoriale pour favoriser l'expression de la créativité et de l'innovation au sein de territoires". J'expérimenterai ce travail dès le 15 octobre 2015 sur le territoire de la Bigorre (Hautes-Pyrénées).

Creating ecologically sustainable ways of life is desirable, necessary, and urgent for the collective future of life on Earth. Although this is acknowledged, aspired to, and increasingly pursued in action, broad-scale sustainability remains unrealised. Western cities offer a strategic place to exemplify and accelerate global sustainability transitions. Such cities are characterised by dense human populations with excessive per capita resource use, but they can also be cornucopias of economic development, progressive politics, and diverse culture and correspondingly act at global hotspots of innovation and change. This exploratory research proposes pragmatic backcasted pathways for furthering such change, constructing future visions of more sustainable ways of life in Western cities, identifying presentday barriers to realising these, and generating practical solutions ‘here and now’ that could contribute strategically to overcoming the barriers, towards a sustainable future. An insight and foresight rich distillation of evidence-based knowledge and practical experience was generated to inform these pathways, through qualitative interviews with 25 esteemed experts specialising in fields of socio-ecology and cities, including planning, design, sociology, psychology, philosophy, art, activism, economics, and government. To analyse this data and conceptualise alternative pathways, ‘ecological habitus’, an emergent socio-ecological theory, was developed and employed as a practical framework for conceptually linking broad-scale socio-ecological issues with everyday practice; analysing the inter-dependent variables (e.g. normative, material, social, and psychological) of social reproduction and change; and assessing their sustainability at different scales (e.g. individual and institutional). Two components were added to the theory: ‘natural capital’ (the ecological/biophysical factors within socio-ecological relationships), and ‘ecological reflexivity’ (people’s responses to natural capital whether intentional-critical, periodic-conscious, or routine-subconscious). These enhance ecological habitus as a versatile tool for socio-ecological and sustainability-transition research.The ultimate research outcomes are three backcasted pathways towards a future of ‘sustainable ecological habitus’, which could begin pragmatically with: collaborative practice among city authorities to develop as ecologically-reflexive sustainability leaders and overcome disciplinary silos; strategic enrichment of cities with accessible, place-based natural capital to enhance human-nature connection; and everyday self-, or socially-directed sustainability micro-interventions among city-dwellers, to incrementally grow mainstream sustainable ecological habitus. These actions combined could accelerate sustainable ecological habitus in Western cities and beyond. The power is ours.

Face à l’hégémonie visuelle des temps modernes, « L’architecture émotionnelle » définie dans le manifeste de Mathias Goeritz en 1950 et qui a pour projet « l’émotion », tente de pallier cette pathologie de l’architecture moderne, « l’architecture rétinienne ». Cet article se veut comme une étude de tentatives non exhaustives de plusieurs designers et architectes, qui dans le domaine de l’architecture émotionnelle et des environnements expérientiels, cherchent à rendre l’architecture plus humaine en réconciliant l’homme avec son monde: Catherine Sémidor en empruntant les concepts et les approches de « la phonographie » et de « la promenade sonore » tente de définir les ambiances sonores de la ville comme une identité urbaine qui participe fortement dans la représentation mentale des citadins. La stratégie de l’Imagineering (le storytelling et le placemaking) – initialement développée par Walt Disney pour la construction de ses parcs à thème – s’avère être une approche conceptuelle pour la création des environnements expérientiels, qui présentent des enjeux dans la construction des comportements humains, voire des constructions mentales à travers les propositions d’expériences polysensorielles : À «Villages-Nature», l’architecture y est plutôt narrative, énonciative, et porte une vocation sensibilisatrice à l’environnement qui prend le corps non plus comme une matière, mais comme un matériau, à transformer son comportement par rapport à la nature en modifiant ses pensées et ses façons d’être.

The second Expert Meeting held by the ATLAS Events Group was hosted by the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria in Peniche, Portugal in May 2013. The meeting centred on issues of event design and Imagineering and featured eleven presentations by delegates from Finland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the UK.

The role of anthropology as an academic discipline that seeds tourism imaginaries across the globe is more extensive than generally acknowledged. In this article, I draw on ethnographic and archival research in Indonesia and Tanzania to examine critically the recycling of long-refuted
ethnological ideas and scientific ideologies in contemporary tourism interpretation. A fine-grained analysis of local tour guide narratives and practices in two popular destinations, Yogyakarta and Arusha, illustrates empirically how outdated scholarly models, including anthropological ones, are strategically used to represent and reproduce places and peoples as authentically different and relatively static, seemingly untouched by extra-local influences.

—A web-based learning system using project-based learning and Imagineering relies on the online operation, which can be operated on all kinds of computers and mobile devices. The objectives of the development of this web-based learning system are to encourage the freedom of self-learning, to promote interaction and cooperation based on the concepts and theories of project based learning and Imagineering learning, and to create instructional activities based on the new concepts corresponding to characteristic development of learners in the 21st century, which enables the learners to have creativity and ability to generate new innovation. Regarding the architecture design, the researcher employed the concepts of mixed learning process, which is the combination of project-based learning and Imagineering learning, in order to support the instructional process within the system. Also, the researcher relied on the flexible instructional activities and instructional management system so that the learners could acquire the efficient learning from the system. Moreover, there was a variety of communication devices to support and promote the collaboration and activities within the system. Abstract: In the present work we propose to follow the path of conjunctions and disjunctions between ethics and politics through different historical stages, taken as great spaces of imagineering in which it is possible to recognize a context of time, and not in its different definitions and Historical and / or philosophical taxonomies. Para recorrer el camino que proponemos, analizaremos brevemente las transformaciones y cambios 2 de orden en el imaginario social, entendido como la red de múltiples relaciones y producciones sociales en la que se articulan y desarticulan los distintos puntos nodales de fijación de sentido que posibilitan la efímera delimitación de un sociedad en un período histórico y cultural dado, de tres palabras y los objetos y conceptos que designan según pasan las épocas.

Geografia della frattura' di Bernard Kayser fa parte dell'Enciclopedia del Mediterraneo, un lavoro culturale promosso dall'Accademia Tunisina di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti di Tunisi, con il contributo di ospitalità dell'Ambasciata italiana, con editori del Nord Africa e della Francia. L'obiettivo è quello di inserire il Mediterraneo al centro del dibattito attuale e della ricerca di prospettive adeguate alle aspettative della popolazione mediterranea.

As many intellectuals of the 20th century have figured out, teleological, substantive views of utopias distract attention away from real problems, or worse: they might take the form of totalitarian worldviews, fanatism, war, and terror (e.g., Berlin, 2013; Dewey, 1979). Such thinkers tend to share the view that a first approximation to a better conception of utopias starts from identifying and acknowledging real problems (e.g., Branford, 2017; Festl, 2014; Moody-Adams, 1999; 2002; Walzer, 2013). A movement towards the better is then a movement away from an identified concrete problem, suffering etc. I argue that this ‘negative teleology’ is reasonable. But I also believe that such theories need to be complemented by art, establishing good communication between people, and other activities that assist creating a better future – for instance, engaging in interdisciplinary think thanks (Welzer, 2019).
John Dewey (1980) believed that “[p]hilosophy […] is an idea of what is possible, not a record of accomplished fact” (p. 336). I will outline three elements which together provide a picture of the place of utopias in Normative Experimentalism alongside Dewey’s philosophy:
First, philosophy is not limited to conceptual analysis but is inextricably linked with imagination and art. With Dewey I argue that the picture that philosophy, art, religion etc. are disciplines with fixed roles is highly problematic (e.g., that art is concerned with imagining better possible futures, philosophy with social criticism and ethical theory etc.). Regarding ethical amelioration there is no need to construct a strict division of labor between disciplines because, for Dewey, art, ethical theory, philosophy of education – theory and practice – are but phases of life and experience. To isolate them would be a ‘philosophical fallacy’ with bad real-world consequences.
Second, Normative Experimentalism holds that ethical amelioration is a strictly tentative venture based on trial and error. Fallibilism applied to the notion of good aims leads to formulating a condition to be met by any good utopias that might offer some guidance for fashioning a better future.
Finally, pragmatism’s monistic philosophy which takes concrete living-experiences as its pivot enables us to think of ethics as an artful endeavor. This goes far beyond the fact that ethical deliberation implies imaginative effort. Imagination and deliberation themselves depend on good communication that relies on virtues such as openness to others’ perspectives (Stroud, 2016) and that, in form of works of art, provides us with impressions of alternative ways of seeing the world (Dewey, 2005).

Notre communication présente notre modèle SOLARIS en développant la structure facilitant l'élaboration, le partage et l'hybridation d’œuvres culturelles SOLIS et SOLARIS, encodant en leur sein des savoirs complexes et synergisants. Ce modèle, déjà expérimenté avec succès, répond à des procédures d'élaboration et d'utilisation définies dans des matrices assurant les règles fondamentales d'interopérabilité. Cet article vise ainsi à permettre une compréhension claire de notre modèle (structure et utilisation) et de ses enjeux dans la complexité.  La première partie résume la méthodologie que nous avons développé pour accompagner l'expérimentation de ce modèle. Puis, nous introduisons ce modèle, ainsi que les enjeux liés à sa normativité. Enfin, nous analysons les premiers retours analytiques et expérimentaux de notre modèle, permettant d'illustrer la mise en œuvre d'une démarche de travail collaboratif visant la production de savoirs collectifs et communs par le biais de ce modèle.

In this chapter, I elaborate on city branding strategies and practices in four Chinese mega-cities, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Chongqing. I also discuss some overall patterns related to the branding of Chinese mega-cities in the age of globalization. The observations made and presented in this chapter are based on data gathered from fieldwork, literature and secondary sources, and are an integrated part of a larger research project on international positioning of Chinese mega-cities.

Among a number of proposals regarding ‘late’ forms of urban neoliberalism, it has recently been argued that urban entreprenurialism has become ‘common sense’ or even ‘dull compulsion’. In this article, we contribute to this discussion by exploring the structural conditions and local strategies for normalizing city-centre-oriented urban entrepreneurialism in a Swedish context. In doing so, we return to an important but sometimes overlooked aspect of David Harvey’s original concept: the delicate act of organizing urban entrepreneurialism across public and private spheres of the local polity. From this perspective, the act of making urban entrepreneurialism normal is far from ‘dull compulsion’. Drawing on longitudinal case studies of two different public-private partnerships related to city centre development in the two largest Swedish cities, we highlight the active use of sly, or cunning, de-politicization strategies among local elite actors. Our analysis leads to the more general claim that we should expect similar sly de-politicization strategies to be necessary for normalizing urban entrepreneurialism in political contexts characterized by relatively strong local authorities, and in relation to spaces and topics of interest to many and diverse actors.

How can we participate in a culture which inspires humans to responsibly steward the planet for future generations of all beings?

As the tropics of planet earth are home to a rich profusion of diverse and unique life forms, so the tropics of the imagination are the fertile centre from which springs an infinite diversity of unique thought forms. This resource of inspiration and innovation has been a vital fuel in the evolution of human culture to date. At this time, on the bridge between the juggernaut of history and an uncertain future, imaginative contributions to the ongoing quality of life on earth, for all biological life-forms, is undeniably necessary.
This paper sets out to explore international and local trends toward a culture of bio-regional, and by extension, planetary ecological protection, where biodiversity and life-viability are recognised as keys to our future. Proposing that by creatively combining our expertise and resources, creative artists, scientists and engineers can work toward supporting cultural change.

This short essay, built on a foundation of more than a decade of fieldwork in the hydrocarbon-rich societies of the Arabian peninsula, distills a set of overarching threads woven through much of that time and work. Those threads include a discussion of the social heterogeneity of the Gulf State citizenries, the central role of development and urban development in these emergent economies, the multifaceted impact of migrants and migration upon these host societies, and the role of foreign 'imagineers' in the portrayal of Gulf societies, Gulf values, and Gulf social norms.

The early modern period witnessed an explosion of the representation and performance of violence. In European cities, renaissance and baroque theatre staged gruesome and passionate plays, while in the streets, during religious festivals and public entries of sovereigns, state and church conjured up violent images of subjection and suffering. The book market added to this spectacle of violence, as the early modern period saw the development of an advanced material infrastructure for the production, distribution, consumption, and appropriation of such imagery. A fast-growing body of texts and prints registered violent episodes of the past and the present. On a daily basis, the public could study in detail the techniques used in battle, to torture martyrs or execute criminals. How can we explain this apparent fascination for violence? What effects and affects did these scenes aim to arouse? What relationships were enforced between the audience and the depicted or enacted scenes? What groups were depicted as violent and did they obtain specific violent qualities?
