It could be affirmative to say that the index for measuring any growing economy's advancement is the extent to which its industries both the large and small scale has been growing over time. It's a fact that none of these industries can grow without the required financial assistance from financial institution. The main objective of this study is access the impact of commercial banks in the economic development of rural areas of Nigeria using a population of sixty five employees comprising of staffs of the United Bank for Africa Plc and dwellers of Ukum local government area of benue state. Essentially, a field survey research design and quota sampling techniques were used. Pearson chi-square statistics was used to test the hypothesis. Based on the hypothesis tested, the findings showed that there is a significant impact on the role commercial banks played in the economic development of rural areas of Nigeria. Since commercial banks has significant impact on the development of rural areas, the government is urged to formulate more beneficial policies that will further strengthen the roles played by these commercial banks for full development to cover all rural areas of the federation.

ABSTRACT
This study was based on computerized accounting effectiveness and financial reporting at HFC Bank, Laboni Branch. The objectives of the study were; to determine the uses of a computerized accounting information system, to find out the pros and cons of computerized accounting to financial institutions, and to establish the qualities of financial reports generated by computerized accounting system. The researcher used qualitative and quantitative research designs with a sample of size 15 respondents. Both primary and secondary data were used and the data collection methods were questionnaires, observation interviews and investigative procedures.

The study revealed the existence of a computerized accounting system at HFC Bank Limited and this system has enhanced operational efficiency. It has not only improved the quality of financial reports but also provides timely reports on daily activities and has to a certain extent helped to minimize the risk of fraudulent transactions. The study established that computerized accounting had a great impact on quality of financial reports and that many financial statements were generated through the computerized accounting system. The findings shows a strong significant positive relationship between the variables (r=0.861**, p>0.01) which implies that computerized accounting and financial reporting at HFC Bank laboni are strongly related.

The computerized accounting system is of a great importance to the running of the company but is also associated with its own weaknesses that hinder efficiency in the company’s business environment. A continuous culture of utilizing a computerized accounting system is recommended.

ABSTRACT
This study seeks to examine the factors responsible for low productivity in service organisation, using the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp as a case study. A sample of 250 staffs of NSCDC was taken from their Lagos command where the study was conducted. The questionnaire was used as the major instrument for data collection while likert scale and Chi-Square statistics were used for testing the formulated hypotheses. The results obtained from the tested hypotheses revealed that lack of training; ineffective leadership and employees’ dissatisfaction significantly influence workers’ productivity. The study therefore  recommend that leaders in service organisations should take advantage of the fact that they can influence their followers by inspirationally motivating them so as to bring out the best in them and in turn improve their level of productivity.

ABSTRACT
This study was aimed at examining the impact of Micro-Finance Bank on the growth and development of small scale enterprises in Makurdi. The study seeks to; ascertain the role of entrepreneurship development towards employment generation in Benue state; ascertain the efforts of government towards entrepreneurship development; examine the challenges faced by the entrepreneurs in Benue state. A quantitative cross sectional survey design was adopted for the study. The study sampled 50 registered small and medium scale enterprises in Makurdi. Questionnaire was the main instrument of data collection while the data were analyzed using the descriptive statistics (frequency, percentages, mean and standard deviation) and chi-square statistics. The findings of the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between Micro-financing and the growth and development of small scale businesses in Makurdi; there are problems faced by SMEs in obtaining finance from microfinance banks; and that Micro-financing has significant impact on the on the profitability of SMEs in Makurdi. It is therefore recommended that operators of SMEs in the country should take conscious steps towards solving the identified problems that are in their control, which have hitherto, constrained the efforts of microfinance banks with regards to SMEs financing.
