Hydrogels are networks of three-dimensional cross-linked polymers which possess the capacity to absorb and retain water. Hydrogels have proven to be adaptable and versatile, making them useful in various biomedical applications such as tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Among the various types of hydrogels, Peptide-based hydrogels are most suited for biological applications due to their special features which include biodegradability, mechanical stability, biocompatibility, capacity to retain more water, injectability, and elasticity like that of tissues. In this review, we will present the recent advancements that have occurred in the field of peptide-based hydrogels concerning its biomedical applications especially delivery of Targeted delivery, Wound healing, Tissue engineering, Stem cell Therapy, etc.

EnglishThis paper presents the early results of a review and cataloguing work, conducted on about 3000 brick stamps from the Antiquarium Comunale of Rome since 2012. These brick stamps, originally stored in the so called “Grottoni del Campidoglio” in 1985/86, are today preserved in the Museo della Civilta Romana. They represent an extraordinary collection, composed of many of the stamps studied by Dressel (CIL XV) coming from excavations made between the eighteenth and the end of the nineteenth century in the area of Porta Flaminia, of Castra Praetoria, and on the Esquiline Hill, as well as from excavations made in the 1940s in different areas of Rome. At the end of this project, it will be possible to have, in addition to epigraphic data, an almost complete iconographical collection of brick stamps used in Rome and recorded in the CIL XV. This collection will include, for each factory, a large amount of information concerning the different types of products and the measurements of ...

The partial least squares technique (PLS) has been touted as a viable alternative to latent variable structural equation modeling (SEM) for evaluating theoretical models in the differential psychology domain. We bring some balance to the discussion by reviewing the broader methodological literature to highlight: (1) the misleading characterization of PLS as an SEM method;

Incompatibilism is often accused of incoherence because it introduces randomness in support of freedom. I argue that the sort of randomness that's thought to be detrimental to freedom results not from denying causal determinism, so much as denying what we might call ‘rational determinism’: denying that agents' actions are determined by their reasons for acting. Compatibilists argue that introducing the ability to decide differently allows agents to make choices that are irrational, and this undermines rather than furthering freedom. I maintain that this argument neglects scenarios in which reasons are in conflict with one another. In such scenarios, we can preserve rationality without claiming that the agent's choices are rationally determined.
