Foreword This standard has been prepared by the Normenausschuss Werkzeuge und Spannzeuge (Tools and Clamping Devices Standards Committee), Technical Committee Bohrbuchsen, Spannzeuge und Vorrichtungen. Some of the dimensions specified are identical to those for T-slots specified in International Standard ISO 299. The ISO Standard differs from the present standard in that it specifies only connecting dimensions, and the e 1 values for M 20, M 30 and M 36 bolts are smaller by 1 mm than those specified here. For M 8, M 12, M 16, M 20 and M 24 bolts, the k values are identical.

Many aeronautical fastners are exposed to cyclic stresses during service. Therefore, such parts are usually designed for limited fatigue lifetime. Various combinations of process type and sequence may be employed to produce threads, each resulting in diÄerent fatigue properties. Specifications of aircraft bolts often require production of threads by heat treatment followed by rolling, in order to improve the fatigue properties. Unfortunately, these specifications are not always followed to the letter. Therefore, for either quality assurance or failure analysis purposes, it is important to be able to determine unambigiously the process by which threads were produced. The objectives of this work were to study the eÄect of varied thread manufacturing process type and sequence on the mechanical properties of AISI 4340 stud bolts, and to develop a laboratory procedure for distinguishing between them. L’articolo illustra in estrema sintesi i risultati del progetto Mapping Mobilities. Un’analisi storica e digitale dell’emigrazione trentina, promosso dall’Istituto Storico Italo-Germanico della Fondazione Bruno Kessler di Trento, grazie a un cofinanziamento della Fondazione Caritro e alla collaborazione con la Fondazione del Museo Storico del Trentino, l’Archivio provinciale di Trento e l’Archivio di Stato di Trento. La ricerca ha inteso riscoprire e valorizzare il prezioso patrimonio storico-archivistico rappresentato dalle quasi 60.000 richieste di documenti di viaggio emesse tra il 1868 e il 1915, contenute nel fondo “Commissariato di polizia” e che sono conservate nell’Archivio di Stato di Trento. Si tratta di una fonte preziosa per lo studio della storia dell’emigrazione dei trentini tra Ottocento e Novecento.
