Sugar Pea 43 Love U

Happy Friday, peeps!  Happy weekend!  Looking forward to spending some time with the family this weekend, how about you?  Hope you have something fun planned!   I thought the Sugar Pea Mix it Up challenge this week was a pretty one:

and I needed a Mother's Day card for John's stepmother, so I pulled out W Plus 9's Freehand Florals and made some roses for my simple CAS card:

I had watched this video which was very helpful in lining up these beautiful layered stamps!  I mounted them on a Crumb Cake panel which was stamped with the retired Dictionary stamp, then I sponged the edges a bit for a vintage look.  Before sponging, I cut the corner of my panel, as well as my card, with a 1 3/4" circle punch to get the rounded edge.  My sentiment is from Altenew's Label Love.  The inside just has a simple Mother's Day sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  Aren't these colors pretty?

So happy that you popped in today!

And speaking of Mother's Day, Cassidy's class had a luncheon for their moms yesterday.  They brought in different items for their menu, and Dana chose a turkey sandwich, which Cassidy made (without mayo, because that's how SHE likes it), and Cassidy added not one, but two chocolate chip muffins and some chips.  A good, healthy lunch, LOL!  I told Dana it looked like she used an entire loaf for the sandwich, but it was just the heel:

And the muffin actually looks like a little face!!  But they had fun and Dana got to meet some of Cassidy's classmates as well as their moms, too!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SSC160 Times Two

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Running late today....I am gradually getting back into the school schedule, which will change in a few days once Dana and Cassidy move after the wedding!  For now, I am taking it easy....although we did start priming our walls yesterday, so we will be in the thick of painting quite soon!  I did have a little bit of time last night to create two cards for the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge:

The first one is decidedly feminine, using papers from Delightful Daisy and images from Jar of Love:

It also uses a sentiment from August's Paper Pumpkin....I find myself using generic sentiments like this more and more; then I put a more specific sentiment on the inside when I need it!  I used the Everyday Jar framelits to cut out my little floral and greenery:

The second one is definitely more masculine!  My friend  Jan recently used the Dictionary background stamp on this card and I was inspired to pull mine out too!  I used some papers from Coffee Break, then took Pick a Pattern washi tape and covered a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with it and cut it out with a Layering Circles framelit:

I hadn't used Wood Words for a while, so I stamped and diecut a little tag using the rooster image and tied it with some black and white baker's twine!  Again, a generic sentiment to use for the future!

Hope you have a blessed day!

Paper Players 292

Happy Sunday, everyone!  The fabulous Claire is our hostess for the Paper Players today, and she has a fun sketch!  Check it out:

There is always a dearth of "guy" cards in my stash, so I thought I'd pull out Guy Greetings for my card today:

I will be mourning the loss of Lost Lagoon, so I am using it a lot lately!  I stamped the shoes and hats in Basic Black; I used the retired Dictionary background stamp for the card base and a couple of scraps of Lost Lagoon DSP for my panels.  It's hard to see, but the black panel was embossed with the Alphabet EF, and finally, I added some twine and candy dots for not-too-frilly embellishments!

I am also entering this over at Little Red Wagon, where their challenge is "text"...use text somewhere on your card!

We can't wait to see what you create with this awesome sketch!  Be sure to share it over at the Paper Players blog, and don't forget to check out what the designers did as well!

I have a new-found respect for five-year-olds trying to learn to read and write!  The English language is fraught with exceptions to the rules!  But Cassidy is doing pretty well, even spelling phonetically! We play a game she made up which involves me guessing something in her mind, and then she draws and spells it!

So we have BUNNIES:

CLOTHES (I love this one):

And hey!  She got this one exactly right!  SWING SET:

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 257

DSCF1258

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Claire is our amazing hostess today for the Paper Players challenge and she’s got an awesome color palette for us:

I love these colors!  I need a birthday card for my step-FIL and these hues are perfect for a masculine card.  I got some new goodies with my birthday money and went to work:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInlings Paper Players 257 Happy Birthday

The number and typewriter EFs are from Tim Holtz; the Old Olive panel is stamped with SU’s retired Dictionary background stamp, and the banner is from Banner Blast.  I cut the circle with a Lil’Inker’s Stitched Circles mat, and I used SU’s Little Letters to diecut the H and the B.  I used a Paper Pumpkin stamp to stamp the “happy birthday” on the circle, and I left the spaces in the B unstamped, just for fun!

DSCF1257

Normally I might sponge the embossed areas for a distressed look, but I wanted them to remain bright and colorful, so I restrained myself!  I do love the bold look that the black mats give these colors, so I used them with each of my panels….and the sketch is from Match The Sketch:

I hope you’ll play along with these colors too!  The design team has created some awesome samples….it always amazes me how they each come up with their own unique design and style!  Check them out:

If the sight of a naked doll baby turns your stomach, you might want to skip these photos….naked babies don’t deter Cassidy at all!  The little engineer  was determined to adapt her swing (which desperately needs a new seat, LOL!) so that her baby could use it.  Since Grampy has a plethora of bungee cords, she went into his shop and asked him if she could borrow some and tried to make her own baby swing!  She had them wrapped around and over, and finally, with some help from Grampy, she managed to make them work:

Swinging success!  And yes, she’s wearing Minion PJs in the middle of the day.  I choose my battles and that one is not worth fighting!

Paper Players 235

DSCF8433

Hi, everyone!  I trust you’re having a great weekend!  It’s Paper Players time, with Anne Marie as our hostess!  She has a wonderful color challenge for us this week; check it out:

Seeing those colors together like that made me think of the current Create with Connie & Mary sketch 345:
CCMC345

so I went to work, pulling out some scraps to make my card for this week:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 235 Stampin Up Hi There Tape It

Since I had the Hi There set already out, I thought it would be fun to incorporate the sentiments into the circular elements; I added a “hello” from the So You photopolymer set, just isolating it from the “hello sunshine” sentiment:

I also stamped some faux washi from Tape It along the diagonal and added a wee bit of linen thread!  It feels good to use some of my older stamps along with the newer ones!

I think the DT did an awesome job with these colors!  Be sure to check out their samples, and show us yours as well!  Here’s their links, or you can just go to the Paper Players blog to see them all!
Enjoy your day, and thanks so much for visiting today!

Paper Players 219

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Nance has an awesome sketch for you today, I am definitely saving this one for future use!  What do you think?

Lots and lots of possibilities here!  I chose to go a bit rustic, using papers from Flashback and images from Truly Grateful:

I stamped the woodgrain in Baked Brown Sugar, and the wheat in Cajun Craze.  My little side panel was stamped with the Dictionary background stamp, also in Cajun Craze, and I did lots of sponging on everything!!  The sentiment is from October's My Paper Pumpkin...a great, versatile Thanksgiving stamp!  Finally, I stamped and sponged on one of the little Autumn Wooden Elements....actually there are two of them, nestled together!  It makes a perfect little fall accent!

I am at my Paper Players friend Sandy's house today, so this is a short & sweet post....but we will be meeting up with another "famous" stamper later on today, so stay tuned to future posts for more on that!  Hopefully there will be some photo ops!  I hope you all have a lovely week!

CTD310 & FMS154

DSCF5253

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, the end of the week!  This is quick…I am getting ready for some weekend company but I wanted to share a birthday card for a special friend!  I paired the Freshly Made Sketches sketch, a beautiful one by Cindy L:

and the yummy colors that Wanda has featured at Color Throwdown:

So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Dictionary Celebrate Baby Stampin Up

I went sort of literal here, creating some flowers from some Typeset and Coastal Cabana DSP, cutting them with a couple of Flower Fair dies.  Those little dies are quite handy…even if you don’t have the matching stamp set, they are useful in other ways, too!  I diecut a button from the retired button die for the center of my flower:

DSCF5254

I added some white chevrons on my Pistachio Pudding using the mask from the Build a Banner kit (they might be hard to see here); my sentiment is from Celebrate Baby; and my background is partially stamped with the Dictionary background stamp:

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cassidy spied a bucket of peppers we had just picked from the garden and went into her “lining them up” mode:
