Happy Thankful Thursday

Happy Thankful Thursday!

These are some images from the North Point State Park in Baltimore County, it is the spot where I saw my Snow Buntings that I previously posted about. Hubby and I enjoyed a brisk walk in the park after seeing the Snowy Buntings. The park is located on the Chesapeake Bay, the views are pretty.

A view of the Chesapeake Bay.

Below me and my shadow, I was happy and thankful to find the Snow Buntings so easily right at the end of this brick pier.

There were plenty of Song Sparrows sighted near the Snow Buntings.

The lighting was not the best for iding ducks out in the bay, I am guessing these are Scaup.

Some of the Snow Buntings

Another look at the Chesapeake Bay, looking very smooth.

The North Point State Park has two parts, the piers by the bay and this Black Marsh Trail.

A few Mallards were seen in the marsh area off the trail.

The Eastern Towhee was seen in a tree along side the trail. I usually hear these birds singing before I can see them.

A view of the marsh land.

I was thankful to see the Snow Buntings during my visit to the park. Bird watching is one of my simple pleasures.
A thankful heart is a happy heart.
am thankful for all your visits and comments.

Great Falls National Park

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

One weekend hubby and I took a day trip to see the Great Falls NP, the water levels were up high due to all the snow melt and the rain storms we had recently.

For Teresa's Friday's Hunt...
1. the letter M
2. week's favorite
3. Bird or wings

A favorite photo,  the sky and the reflections are pretty. We had a nice sunny day but a little chill still in the air as we walked on the C&O Canal Trail at the Great Falls NP.

I like this curvy trail the Great Falls NP.

The Great Falls overlook, a pretty sky and the Potomac River was looking pretty forceful.

The birds I saw at the park were the Tufted Titmouse, Canada Geese in flight, Great Blue Heron, Mallard ducks and more Canada Geese.

My YOUtube video taken at the Great Falls NP in Maryland.

For Friday's Hunt and my week's favorite I have a red sky sunset capture.

As always I hope you liked my photos. Thank so much for stopping by and for the nice comments.

Special thanks to all the wonderful host and their memes, I hope you have some time to check them out.

Happy Hanukkah to all that celebrate!!

I wanted to wish a very Happy Birthday to both my son who will be 23 on Dec 7 and to my hubby who's birthday is Dec 10th..

These are some images from my walk with hubby to the lake on Nov 8. We had a pretty blue sky, some ducks flying and landing on our lake and juvenile Bald Eagles flying over. We never know what we will see while on our walks to the lake and on the fireroads.

I was able to watch various flocks of ducks flying in during our walk to the lake. The shot above seems to be more Mallards but there are a few Buffleheads mixed in.

I like how the sunlight lit up these yellow leaves on the trees, ground and fireroad.

Above we saw two juvenile Bald Eagles flying near the lake, I was only able to catch a distant fly by shot. More ducks flying around the lake and some more Buffleheads came in for a landing.

Juvenile Bald Eagle flying over the lake and our heads.

Berries seen along the fireroad.

A view of the lake from the end of the fireroad. The bare deciduous trees standing in front of the pine trees across the lake. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your visits and nice comments. Have a happy day and new week ahead!

Fair Hill NRMA

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

Hello, I am sharing another day trip to Fair Hill NRMA, a Maryland park bordered by Pennsylvania to the North and one half mile west of Delaware.  This park holds the Cecil County annual fair, they also have Steeplechases. The Big Elk Creek runs the entire length of the park, there is fishing, multiple trails, picnic areas and other numerous activities.  Oh, I can not leave out birding, last year I saw my Bobolink lifer at this park.

Some scenes from the park are ton top row: the barn and pond with some geese, and bottom row possibly a Wood Thrush seen on the trail, Mallard and more Geese.

The stone mansion and park land was once owned and used as a hunting lodge by Mr William du Pont until the State of Maryland bought the land in 1974. The mansion is now the Nature Center building for the park.

The Foxcatcher Farm Covered Bridge located in the Fair Hill Park is one of two covered bridges found in Cecil County, Maryland.

A view of one of the trails we hiked, the trail runs along side of the creek.

Fair Hill is also a thoroughbred training center located on 350 acres. Plenty of fences in this park for the stables, I think the stables and racetrack is leased from the state.

After leaving the park we came across the Gilpins Falls Covered Bridge is the second covered bridge located in Cecil County Maryland.  The sky above the covered bridge was looking beautiful and I thought perfect for my Skywatch entry.

A large shot of the covered bridge and skywatch.

The lone cloud sky, it was a beautiful day for our walk in the park. As always, I hope you enjoyed my post and images. Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate the nice comments.

Taking the Back Roads

YEA!  Another weekend is here and I am linking up with Camera Critters   and  Sunday Bridges  and Scenic Sunday  .  I hope everyone is safe from the horrible storms that happened overnight and yesterday, my thoughts and prayers go out to the storm victims.

These are some shots of a large flock of Blackbirds seen while driving on the back roads here in Maryland. It was the weekend hubby and I were on the way to see the eagles at Conowingo and to see if any ducks were at HavredeGrace.  And while we are in the area we always enjoy a crab cake dinner at McGregors in Havrede Grace.

I like this photo with the tree, the large flock of blackbirds and the rolls of hay

You can see the Red-winged Blackbirds mixed in with this large group. Maybe some Grackles too?

I saw this hawk in a bush low to the ground, so I was able to snap a few photos right from my car.

Male Mallard duck with a female laying right behind him, seen from the boardwalk at HavredeGrace.

This dude is doing his stretching exercises.

Headless gulls and their wacky reflections.

A few Coots were also seen near the boardwalk.

A scenic view of HavredeGrace's waterfront and boardwalk.

A bridge for my Sunday bridges. This is a bridge going over the Susquehanna river and is used by the Amtrak train that travels from Baltimore-Washington to Philadelphia and New York.

We can watch the Amtrak trains going over the bridge from the restaurant, they do have a lovely view of the river. I hope you enjoyed my post and birds. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a Happy weekend.
