Dalits carry a historic sociological agency of 'contempt and discrimination' against their 'self'... more Dalits carry a historic sociological agency of 'contempt and discrimination' against their 'self' in the broader caste society. Such look down prejudiced chauvinism against their self and social identity gets manifested even at the cost of violating legal and constitutional measures. The present paper focuses on one such prominent sociological, legal and constitutional spirit violation discourse. Though Dalits appear to have protective measures granted by the State, in reality, such measures are selectively extended and curtailed. In this respect, selective extension of legal provisions to Hindu Dalits and Christian Dalits is a noted phenomenon. As a result, the present paper highlights how Christian Dalits are not covered under the Prevention of Atrocities Act and why they should be covered under the same legal and constitutional provisions. Methodologically, the paper engages in secondary data synthesis on the lines of normative, legal and constitutional modes of critical argumentations.

Surprisingly, in a record time after its establishment, TDP captured impressive victory and formed a government in 1983. Though TDP based its political slogan and agenda on mastering Telugu people's pride, in reality, it had succinct hidden challenges to face and address. One such prominent challenge was in the Telangana region, now called Telangana State (TS). The present paper highlights, based on what factors, the TDP was politically successful. Furthermore, based on what kind of other factors the TDP faced almost vanquished position in the subsequent times in TS. Methodologically, the paper engages in qualitative and secondary electoral data synthesis. Moreover, the paper constructs about 35 years of TDP's political lineage from 'consolidation to fragmentation' in Telangana.

A historical, sociological, and ethnographic understanding of these two depressed caste communities will enable us to understand, in some measure, the change in their communities, their achievements, and upward social mobility after their encounter with Christianity. Our inquiry is limited to Christianity as we are leading an organization for Indian Christians from Dalit backgrounds.

At certain level, these debates were inter-related and interlinked to political ideological convictions arising due to contested and polarized political nexus and happenings;
mostly due to debates over victimhood of Muslim section, etc. Two of such watermark momentums occurred during; Babri Masjid’s demolition time in 1992 and later during Gujarat 2002 genocide against Muslims. During and after these two incidents occurrences renewed debates took place in many spheres of public activity about the conditions of Muslim communities’ marginalization and measures to address such marginalization, primarily at national level. Andhra Pradesh (including the present day Telangana) political process in South India is one such
extended platform to the national level politics where Muslim community’s marginalization came to the forefront seriously and a few steps were initiated, since 2004 Congress government onwards. In
this sequence the present paper will attempt at exploring; how the politics of Muslim section’s inclusion came to the forefront vis-à -vis in relation to marginalization, victimhood, etc debates. And, how the state is able to mediate measures in favour of Muslim’s inclusion; before bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and in the present day Telangana? And, continues to pose other extended interrelated questions like; how the Muslim community is backward in political articulations and activism, what kind of factors are propelling the political parties and the state to recognize marginalization and initiative measures, what kind of counter responses have being generating to these measures, etc? At last, attempts to address a major question, to what extent the actions of the
governments are genuine in addressing the marginalization of the Muslims communities?

Towards this direction, historically they have been converting to other religions, to escape ritual pollution notion and humiliating status. One such strategy has been to convert to other religions, like; Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, etc. Even after conversion to non-Hindu religions, even though they escaped ritual pollution status, on a degree of variation, they failed to ameliorate their economic and social status to a greater extent. The Indian State, as an agency to transform disadvantaged sections, set out a self Constitutional and legal vision. One such vision is disadvantaged sections ‘inclusion through reservation’. But, again the Christian Dalits have been excluded from this inclusion through reservation in Scheduled Castes domain, based on sheer Christian religious background, by ignoring their continued historical disadvantaged position. In this context, the paper draws attention towards multiple discriminatory stances of Christian dalits and their guised identities and movements, by taking into consideration Telugu Region of South India as a context.
Key Words: Christian Dalits, Telugu Region, Reservation, Dalit Movement.
Note: Presented this paper on the sidelines of two day National Seminar on 'Reservation, Representation and Social Justice', organised by the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Osmania University from March 22-23, 2019.
The bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh (AP) into residual AP and Telangana in 2014 by the I... more The bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh (AP) into residual AP and Telangana in 2014 by the Indian Parliament left a great void to the residual AP in many forms. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government headed by Nara Chandrababu Naidu as Chief Minister assumed charge in AP with a lot of hope and created sensational promoting publicity in various spheres of policy formations. But, the opposition political parties, civil society sections, political analysts analysis, etc perspectives are running quite contrarily to such promoted publicity and the TDP government is also failing to deliver effectively. Hence, the present paper attempts to portray a few major TDP governments failing crucial policy formations, which subsequently caught in major political deliberations. And, at last, makes a concluding observation that whether such a political deliberation can be understood as an end to such policy formation? Or how further politicisation may escalate depending upon the present prevailing political situation.
In the modern democratic political system of India, the Civil Society in the Telangana region ha... more In the modern democratic political system of India, the Civil Society in the Telangana region has a unique distinction. In the recent past, the vibrant civil society protest movement in the Telangana region in association with various political parties, like Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), primarily, has caught attention of the national discourse; which ultimately resulted in the formation of the Telangana State by bifurcating united Andhra Pradesh State by a statutory process of the Indian Parliament in 2014. In this scenario, the present paper will attempt to trace out how and why vibrant civil society emerged in the Telangana region and why it developed a unique aspiration for achieving a separate Telangana State within the Indian Union? And, most importantly, what kind of vibrant role was played by this Telangana Civil Society, distinctly? At last concludes, by observing that the multi political party system in the era of coalition governments’ formation at the Union level is able to recognize and address a few problems at the regional and sub regional level, albeit on pure political calculations. As such, recognition of the Telangana Civil Society protest movement in association with political parties is one testimonial in the Indian political process; how the interface between the Civil Society and the State is takeing place.
Key Words: Civil Society, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Protest movement, Indian Union.

Abstract:
‘Amen: The Autobiography of a Nun’, is a path-breaking revelation by a former Catholic nun, who faced immense ‘adjustment problem’ in her ‘seminary and convent life’; contrary to her faith and admiration towards the Catholic monastery way of life. In this whole autobiography, she unravels her story from childhood to migration into the Catholic fold’s Mother of Carmel congregation. Throughout this process, she presents fascinating accounts of her subjective idealistic expectations versus pragmatic encounters, and at last, concludes by observing what kind of factors made her end her association with the Catholic monastery life associated with the Mother of Carmel congregation.
Key Words: Catholic, Kerala, Seminary, Sister Jesme, Mother of Carmel congregation.

This review is published by The Criterion: An International Journal in English Vol. 9, Issue-VI, December 2018.
The present paper is a review of this work.
The present work was published in the year 2014 on behalf of the Navayana publishers. Primarily, the present work is a 'Annotated version to Ambedkar's original Annihilation of Caste', by editor S Anand. Arundathi Roy, a noted Indian English writer composed introduction to this work. But, the present review found fault with her introduction as not well suited to the present treatise.
Upon its launch in 2014, this work became a critical deliberation in the mainstream media.
The review concluded that the present work was 'a partial political autobiography', as significant focus was drawn towards political narration, and lacked dimensions into personal life. At another level, the review, bifurcated the life of Natwar Singh into parts; one entangled with Professional diplomatic career and another part inclined towards pursuit of ambitious 'political interest'. Also observed that Natwar failed to justify his autobiography's title 'Why One Life Was Not Enough?" Anyhow, the review concluded that Natwar's One Life was successful in relation to his professional diplomatic career, but same time disappointed him in relation to his fulfillment of his political ambitions.

Mala's leadership prospectus on the broader Telugu society has inherent limitations and opposition. In this sequence, the paper specifically focuses on the University of Hyderabad’s Ambedkar Students’ Association (ASA), which is dominated by the Telugu Mala Dalit students’. Towards this direction, ASA's prime strengths and weaknesses are highlighted concerning other student organisations. Overall, the ASA operational dynamics have a unique style too. Methodologically, the paper's focus layover ‘comparative discourse analysis’.
