The process of developing new products begins with a well conceived design, developed into prototype. In ceramics production, the manual process of developing product idea by hand turning or hand carving design concept in plaster is slow, inaccurate and demands skilled persons that are difficult to find and too much time consuming to train; thereby, tends to decrease product competitiveness. Thus, engaging technology, by developing and conducting test digitally, and generating rapid prototype from CAD model is seen as a viable approach that can help improve product quality and get product faster to market. Therefore, this paper seeks to investigate the viability of rapid prototyping technology in enhancing product value. The paper also illustrates on how designers can integrate aesthetic appeals in product by analyzing designs using PhiMATRIXTM Software

Achieving this involves not just cognitive process of acquiring and utilizing knowledge, but also applying the power of imagination. Imagination helps to shatter the boundaries of the known and enters the domains of the unknown. Thus, to be a creative thinker, this brain-based skill must be fully active and utilized. Hence, this paper seeks to illuminate on how cognitive skills of the mind can be enhance for maximum performance in creative industry. The paper also identifies the three internal components that make up a creative mind; and also analyzed human subconscious mind and the role it plays in creative thinking and problem solving. Keywords: cognitive skills, brain-based skills, creative minds, subconscious mind.

The traditional Malay designs are not merely objects of beauty but also serve as means of creating an environment of peace and tranquility. The elements found in the traditional Malay design can be regarded as a factor of global players, which only have their own identity and cannot be found elsewhere. Thus, the elements of traditional design can play a significant role in establishing local identity for global positioning of the nation. Therefore, integrating these traditional design elements into contemporary design is seen as an approach towards sustaining the nation's heritage values as genius loci. Hence, this paper seeks to identify and illuminates on some of these Malay traditional elements in Malaysia with particular reference to the North East region states (Kelantan and Terengganu). The paper also illustrates by examples how these elements can be enhanced and sustained by integrating them into contemporary building designs either as direct or adaptive design.

Kelantan state situated at the North East region of Malaysia is regarded as a "cultural pot of Malay culture." The tangible and intangible heritage of Kelantan is not only known for its uniqueness, but also the realistic traditional concept of art in Malay. Many forms of Malaysian heritage are believed to be originated from Kelantan; although they are later recognized as the Malay heritage, however, the uniqueness in Kelantan art makes it a masterpiece concept which cannot be found elsewhere in Malaysia. Among others are; the intricately designed moon-kite known as Wau Bulan, Rebana Ubi and Kertuk drum, the bird singing activities and Mak Yong art drama named by UNESCO in 2004 as a masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity. Thus, this paper seeks to highlight and illuminate on the Kelantan traditional arts. The paper also elaborates on the intrinsic values behind these unique heritages; analyzed the current issues and challenges and conclusively proposes how these issues can be addressed. These will guide on how the heritage values can enhance and be sustained as genius loci.

Al-iman is the belief in the existence of one God and creator, with a commitment to his teachings and revelations. Therefore, design which is believed to be value based requires a holistic approach as this will help in observing the built and natural environment using critical eyes and mind; and also build highly effective habits in designers as a local player to address local issues and as a global player for the betterment of the world. In the light of this, this paper seeks the knowledge regarding belief system, gives the general overview of tawhidic principles, illuminates on design learning and finally tries to integrate tawhidic principles in design learning and practice by proposing five approaches that can be used in design practice.

This is as a result of the great transformation that is taking place where people are now shifting from materialistic needs to emotional and spiritual needs. Thus, there's something more to making housing into homes; sacred spaces where family, friends and faith can grow. Housing are meant to be lifetime home standards that offers the accessibility and design features that makes it flexible enough to respond to changing needs. Housing environment should feature elements that promote spatial relation, serves as spatial clue for pecking order and also cores for emotional and spiritual identity. These elements are part, aspect, component or constituent of a whole environment; they are small but significant presence of the abstract quality of a living space. Although, these elements are very often hidden from view and can be easily overlooked by designers, architects, clients etc; however, with the current transformation, overcoming this myopia is paramount to create a good living space. Hence, this paper seeks to address these issues by identifying and analysing the key elements necessary for creating a good housing space conducive for well-being. This was approached from emotional and spiritual perspective by; analysing the psychology of space; how human beings interact with space and how emotional and spiritual contents can be integrated into living space.

Thus, the correct use of elements in an environment will very well play an important role in well-being and also compensate for the quality life. However, the question is; what are these elements and how can they be effectively integrated into living spaces? Hence, this paper seeks to address these issues by identifying and analyzing the key elements necessary for creating living space conducive for well being. It relates and illustrates by example, how the elements in question can complement each other in a good living environment.

Therefore, functionality of a product now lies between two entities; technical and emotional function. Technical function is how product works, while emotional function is how product makes user feels. Hence, engaging emotion as a partner to technology will deliver the next market place products that will captivate customers. However, it's only when the formal attributes (colour, shape, form, etc.) of an object come together to act as a medium for an emotion does an object become expressive. The tangible heritage of Malay is not only known for uniqueness, but also the realistic traditional concept of art in Malay. It is a reflection of the splendor and beauty of aesthetical elements or ornamentations adorning them that carry deeper philosophical and sacred meanings. Thus, integrating elements of Malay tangible cultural heritage into contemporary home furniture is seen as an approach towards creating products that has emotional and spiritual contents coupled with aesthetic appeal. Therefore, this paper seeks the knowledge regarding the global trend in home furniture design, the Malay cultural heritage and also practically illustrates by example how the elements of Malay tangible heritage can be integrated into contemporary home furniture.
