The aim of this article is to investigate the correlation between semiotic and the question of su... more The aim of this article is to investigate the correlation between semiotic and the question of subjectivity in Deleuze and Guattari's Anti-Oedipus. For doing so, the first part explores how Deleuze and Guattari move away from a negative interpretation of desire, and rethink in a productive way the movement and the investments of desire. This premise is fundamental to understand the nature and the function of a concept that, at first sight, seems to be irrelevant, the notion of pointsign. This concept is important for two reasons: indeed, it has a central role in both untangling the relationship that - inside the Lacan's approach to psychoanalysis - connects desire to signifier and in creating a different relation between sign and desire. Finally, I will show how these semiotic considerations can be used as tools to search and investigate the new process of subjectification inside our contemporaneity.

The analysis of the Deleuze and Guattari's plateau allows to highlight the ways in which sound creates affective and cultural territories and their subsequent subjective positions. In this respect, the body becomes a political battlefield through its ability to experience sound both passively and actively. In the central part of the text, the study of Deleuze and Guattari will be approached by the distinction introduced by Steve Goodman concerning two different developments in sonic forces: a dispersive, centrifuge effect and an attractive, centripetal one. Through this examination, will be possible to draw a common line in the works of certain artists and contemporary researcher such as Kodwo Eshun, Ben Frost and Brian Massumi. In late August 2016, Italian Minister of Health Beatrice Lorenzin announced the so-called ‘Fertil... more In late August 2016, Italian Minister of Health Beatrice Lorenzin announced the so-called ‘Fertility day’, with the aim of making people think about their reproductive health. In this occasion, the government issued a series of posters containing images and slogans which associated being a woman with the irremediable ‘expiry date’ to become a mother. This campaign was strongly criticized by the public. A week before 22 September 2016 – the date chosen for the Fertility Day – Italian magazine Internazionale translated and published an article by Moira Weigel, issued in The Guardian. In this article the journalist shows the close relationship between the idea of the biological clock and gender stereotyping, particularly the idea that reproduction is essential to the realization of a woman’s life. For a student of Deleuze and Guattari’s thinking, the most interesting issue in this article is the relevance of time in the creation of one’s subjectivity. If It’s easy to guess how a different relation with the body or with sexuality might take shape; on the contrary, it’s more difficult to imagine how a new relation with time might look like. In fact, concretely speaking, what does the rising of new possibilities mean? And how this new relation with time can create new possibilities? In order to answer these questions, it’s important to understand that for both Deleuze and Guattari the unlocking of new possibilities, ‘the production of the new’, could not take place without an unexpected and contingent encounter that forces us to rethink our position as subjects.

Fare il postumano: Un nuovo scenario della teoria e della pratica artistica
è la raccolta di una serie di articoli dedicati al tema dell’arte e del postu- mano. Originalmente l’idea era di realizzare un unico numero dedicato al tema, ma la quantità di lavori di rilievo ci ha convinto a dedicarvi due numeri, dei quali si presenta il primo.
Questi lavori hanno reso evidente quanto si dimostri pressante in questo momento ri ettere e declinare gli sviluppi teorici e critici del postumano alle diverse aree della pratica artistica. L’accelerazione espo- nenziale nello sviluppo tecnologico durante l’ultimo secolo ha portato a porsi delle domande sui cambiamenti nei rapporti tra uomo e tecnologia, e, quasi allo stesso tempo, sul vivente nel suo complesso. Da una parte queste domande sono state motivate dalla comprensione che l’intreccio costante con le nuove tecnologie stava generando nuovi e più complessi tipi identitari; dall’altro, che la teoretica predominanza umana su altre forme di vita non era più né sostenibile né tanto meno accettabile. Molte delle ricerche al riguardo venivano proposte sotto il nome di postuma- no: una “condizione” che implica un avanzamento dell’interesse verso una visione della contemporaneità più complessa, che mette sullo stesso piano tutte le forme di vita prendendo in considerazione anche i rapporti con l’inorganico.

è la raccolta di una serie di articoli dedicati al tema dell’arte e del postu- mano. Originalmente l’idea era di realizzare un unico numero dedicato al tema, ma la quantità di lavori di rilievo ci ha convinto a dedicarvi due numeri, dei quali si presenta il primo.
Questi lavori hanno reso evidente quanto si dimostri pressante in questo momento ri ettere e declinare gli sviluppi teorici e critici del postumano alle diverse aree della pratica artistica. L’accelerazione espo- nenziale nello sviluppo tecnologico durante l’ultimo secolo ha portato a porsi delle domande sui cambiamenti nei rapporti tra uomo e tecnologia, e, quasi allo stesso tempo, sul vivente nel suo complesso. Da una parte queste domande sono state motivate dalla comprensione che l’intreccio costante con le nuove tecnologie stava generando nuovi e più complessi tipi identitari; dall’altro, che la teoretica predominanza umana su altre forme di vita non era più né sostenibile né tanto meno accettabile.
