Corruption is an important problem affecting every strata of the Nigerian society. Its impact on Nigerian media is no exemption. Corruption in relation to media is popularly tied to brown envelope which ultimately affects journalist sense of news judgment. Hence, this paper took a theoretical approach to examining the relationship between the issue of brown envelope syndrome and unethical practice within the Nigerian media system and its implications on ethical and socially responsible journalism. Surprisingly, result of the literature reviewed revealed that poor journalistic training and lack of professionalism is responsible for unethical practice in Nigerian media. It further revealed loss of credibility, loss of watchdog roles and decline in news quality, values and public trust of journalists as its implications on ethical and socially responsible journalism. Improved health care to reduce child mortality and improve maternal mortality by year 2015 was targeted by the United Nations at its Millennium Summit of 2000. However, these goals were not fully realized as some member countries, including Nigeria, could not attain the threshold reduction in under five mortality by two-third by2015, just as she recorded a high rate of maternal mortality in the rural areas. Hence, these two goals were broadened to ‘ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages’ in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) plan for 2030. This study examined selected newspapers’ (The Punch, Vanguard, Daily Trust and Leadership Newspapers) framing of herdsmen-farmers conflicts in Nigeria and its implication on peace-oriented journalism. The media has become a veritable arbiter in the process of knowledge formation, especially, as relates to daily societal happenings across climes; thus, necessitating the need to examine media presentation and representation of reality. Some studies have blamed the media for war-oriented framing of conflicts while others have continued to advance for peace-oriented journalism in conflict reportage. The Nigerian wedding industry is one of the most lucrative business industries in the country today; this is as a result of the frequency of the event which has become a global phenomenon. This study therefore seeks to find out the motivations as well as psychological effects behind posting, liking and sharing wedding pictures and videos on social media platforms among Nigerian youth. A random sampling of 350 (n=350) Nigerian youth was carried out. Findings reveal that the act of posting, liking or sharing of wedding pictures and videos on social media platforms by the youth could translate to their desire to publicize the designers and decorators due to their love for what they wear. The study is also able to infer that quite a number of Nigerians who post wedding pictures and videos on social media do so with the intention of showing the kind of extravagant life style they live.

Abstract
Given the indisputable fact that children everywhere attain different levels of performance in academic work, the researchers used the survey research method and a structured questionnaire to find out whether the dysfunctional home syndrome might be a cause of this among 24 members of the University of Ilorin Mass Communication Class of 2012. Findings showed that there is no significant correlation between dysfunctional home and respondents’ academic performance and recommends that children from dysfunctional homes should note this and exercise courage accordingly.

Abstract
This paper identifies some communication challenges undermining effective healthcare delivery in Nigeria, particularly as the problems pertain to communicators, messages, channels, audience, and feedback. The challenges identified rest on the twin notions that all human activities, including healthcare delivery, revolve around the fulcrum of communication, and that a health problem effectively communicated, is a health problem effectively positioned for solution. This implies that there is a symbiotic relationship between communication and healthcare delivery in any society. Nevertheless, communication and effective communication, the paper observes, are worlds apart. To solve the problems, it recommends attitudinal changes among healthcare givers and healthcare recipients in the country and concludes that effective communication is indispensable to effective healthcare delivery system anywhere, since health, a state of general wellbeing in the body and mind, is the foundation of all wealth.

Abstract
Introducing ATCOMS as an acronym to African traditional communication systems, this paper discussed the concepts and channels of indigenous communication on the continent. To realize the objectives of Nigeria’s 20-2020 development goals, the paper suggested the adoption of a multi-format and multi-channel communication approach that involves the integration of ATCOMS with the mass media communication strategies. It concluded that ATCOMS is a people oriented, participatory, and popular phenomenon in Africa. Therefore, it recommends the incorporation and exploitation of ATCOMS in NV 20-2020 and noting that such a step would be a right one in the direction of success.

While analysing the gains and pains of competition to society, the paper advises the general public to be wary of the antics of marketing competitors, and urges government regulatory agencies to sanction erring organisations appropriately. It also reminds competing marketers and advertisers of their debt of corporate social responsibility to Nigerians and admonishes them to jettison deception and mediocrity for brand excellence, fair and responsible competition

Conflict and its escalation in the present-day world demands and commands our attention, as well as our commitment to understanding and addressing it. Therefore, how should the media cover conflict? The debate is widespread and still ongoing both between media professionals and conflict resolution practitioners. These questions and others are what this paper answered. It assessed the hurl of criticism being thrown at the media especially since the outbreak of the protracted Jos conflict and thereafter content analyzed the Nigerian newspapers’ coverage of the conflict. The major objectives of the study are to: examine the extent of newspaper coverage of the Jos conflict, determine how the coverage of the protracted conflict has been framed by the print media, and investigate the level of compliance of Nigerian newspapers with conflict sensitive journalism practice. The paper also discussed how the media should cover conflict, and the stages of conflict. Aside theories of conflict used, the work rests on two approaches of media scholars: the Libertarian and Radical approaches. The findings showed that locational factor determines the level of attention given to conflicts by newspapers. However, the newspapers were partially conflict sensitive and reflect plurality about the conflict as substantial sources of their facts were based on journalists’ observation and views of one party in the conflict.

Multiple forces contribute to and influence the course of ethnic conflict in developing and multi ethnic societies. In Nigeria, media reporting and ethnic group leaders play very important roles in determining the course and severity of ethnic conflict. However, little research has been done examining both the roles played by ethnic group leaders and newspaper framing in influencing interethnic conflict in Nigeria, despite the growth of conflict studies. Within the community of conflict researchers, little work has been done to understand ethnic group conflict behaviors and media reporting as mutually influencing factors in ethnic conflict. This study aims to address this gap. Through in-depth interviews with 26 ethnic group leaders, this study explores how they view media and leaders’ roles in influencing violent interethnic conflict in Nigeria.
