This study was designed to investigate the factors affecting students’ use of Google

Apps for Education in developing countries using the University of Benin as case

study. Google Apps for Education is a free set of communication and collaboration

tools that includes email, calendar, and documents. More than 30 million students,

teachers, and administrators in schools around the world use Google Apps for

Education. Many students will use these tools in college and in the workforce. The

sample of the study comprised of 220 University of Benin students selected across

all 11 faculties through simple random sampling procedure. The research design

used for this study is the survey and the questionnaire was used for the collection of

data. The analysis of the collected data led to the following findings: That internet

availability is the major factor affecting students’ use of Google Apps for Education

followed by the learning environment, followed by the teacher, followed by the

students themselves and the least factor was gender differences. It was therefore

recommended that more attention should be put into making internet available in the

institution for students’ access and that should be priority, then the learning

environment should be organised to favour the use of technological devices, power

sockets and electricity should be put in place, teachers should be trained and

encouraged to adapt their teaching styles to using Google Apps for Education and

students should get orientation on using the tool.

The UBE programme in Nigeria was adopted in 1999. It was seen as a laudable reform. The policy promised good objectives. The problems of the early implementation are multifaceted, and there are no good records that are presentable. This paper reflects on the philosophical basis of the UBE programme and attainment of equality of access to the programme. The paper concludes that the philosophical basis is a mirage and more utopian. The paper recommends the redesign of the objectives of the UBE programme to meet Nigeria societal demands and the fortification of the Nigerian teacher education curriculum for effective implementation of curricular reforms. Also, every government regime should seek for and implement effective and efficient quality education for Nigeria.

The purpose of the study " problems associated with the implementation of chemistry curriculum in senior secondary schools in ughelli north L.G.A of Delta State" was to investigate the problems associated with chemistry curriculum implementation. Five research questions and four hypotheses were postulated and answered. Fourty senior secondary school students were independently randomly selected from four secondary schools in both private and public sector in ughelli north local government Area of Delta state, in the study. A questionnaire was used to elicit data on a number of variables. The collected data was analyzed using chi-square statistics method of analysis. The result pointed out that lack of professional chemistry teachers, lack of laboratory and laboratory facilities; poor salary structure, negative attitude of students, irregular supervision of chemistry teachers are the associated problems with chemistry curriculum implementation in ughelli North local government Area according to the research findings. Recommendations were made to proffer solution to these problems that affected the implementation of chemistry .curriculum.
