These offerings, as socio-political and religious resources, were often deposited at sanctuaries near thermo-mineral springs during ritual activities. Their materiality communicated, maintained, and altered social identities. Ada Salvi and Jacopo Tabolli, directors of the excavation at the Etruscan and Roman Sanctuary of San Casciano dei Bagni, will discuss the function of these ex votos as resources of religious and socio-political communication from the Hellenistic period to the Early Imperial Period.
