Cupcake craft challenge #167–DT card

** THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY **

Please scroll down to see my Stamp with Fun DT card

Hello again friends, I’m back as promised with my card for this week’s cupcake craft challenge.  This week the lovely Maarit has set the theme and she has chosen “textalicious”, so we want to see all your text papers,  actual pages from books/newspapers or even an image with a book on it.  Here is my card:

CCC challenge 167 - textalicious

CCC challenge 167 - textalicious (close up)

I have used a new stamp (for me at least!) from sugar nellie stamps called ‘Jasmine’ and coloured her with flex markers and promarkers.  The gorgeous papers are authentique from the ‘uncommon’ 6x6 bundle collection and the black card is bazzill bling (which I turned over and used the ‘dull’ side).  The grey card is an odd piece I found in my stash – it maybe DCWV!

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp and one lucky winner will receive a $20.00 gift certificate to spend in their online store.

Winter wonderland challenge–DT card

Happy Friday dear friends – it’s almost the weekend *yay*.  Hope you’ve had a great week so far.  Work has been crazy busy and we’ve all been rushing around like headless chickens!  Can’t wait for the weekend for a small lie-in and time to chill (and craft of course!).

I’m here this morning to share my card for this week’s winter wonderland challenge.  The lovely Lynsey has set the theme and she has chosen “for a special friend/friends”.  I have a few ‘special’ friends that I post Christmas cards too each year so this was a perfect challenge for me.  Here is my card:

WW #15 - friends

WW #15 - friends (inside)

WW #15 - friends (close up)

I decided to try a different, albeit simple, fold for a change to the regular square card.  I don’t know it’s official name but I think it may be known as a fold-back card?  I literally took the front of my square card and folded it in half.  The super cute image is another August newbie from DigiStamp Boutique and is part of the ‘Zoe and Henry Xmas Set 1’, which is currently one of the offers of the month.  You can find it in the shop here along with the other offer of the month too.

Our sponsor this week is Pollycraft and they are offering one lucky winner 5 digi images of their choice from their online store.

Charisma cardz #19–DT card

Good morning dear friends, I hope you are all having a brilliant week so far.  Work has been extremely busy this week but at least the time goes quicker that way lol!  It’s Thursday so that means it’s time for a brand new challenge over at charisma cardz challenge.  This week the lovely Carol has set the theme and she has chosen “birthdays in pink”,  which is obviously going to be a very popular theme I think!

We are sponsored this week by Robyn’s Fetish and the prize is  5 digital stamps or 4 digital stamps and 1 digital paper set of their choice.  The DT were lucky enough to be given one of their images to use on our cards this week and I chose ‘waking up birdie’ which would also be ideal as a new home card too.

Robyn's Fetish logo

Here is my card:

charisma cardz #20 - pink birthdays

I have to say that I really struggled with my card, even though I really love pink!!  I made the mistake of colouring my image first (which I never do) and then I couldn’t find the right papers that seemed to fit!!  I settled on my standby of gingham, which I bet you are all sick of seeing lol!  I kept the layout fairly simple with just a few punched flowers, pearls and a punched butterfly but I think it looks quite fresh.  I hope you agree!

The rest of the DT have created gorgeous samples once again this week, so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.  We really appreciate all the lovely comments you leave for us.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Corrosive challenge – birthday

Stamptacular challenge – pink-a-licious

A spoonfull of sugar challenge – anything goes

Passion for promarkers #99–DT card

Good morning dear friends, I hope your Monday was good and that today turns out to be even better.  I cannot believe how quickly the weeks are flying by – we’re in the second week of May already, although you wouldn’t guess by the freakish weather we’re having at the moment!  This week over at passion for promarkers challenge I had the honour of setting the theme and as it was my son’s 17th birthday on Sunday I thought it would be quite apt to have ‘for a teenager’ as our challenge this week.  You can make anything you like as long as it’s appropriate for a teenage girl or boy.  Don’t forget you must use your promarkers or aqua markers to be eligible for our prize draw.  Here is the card I made for my son:

PFP challenge 99 - for a teenager

PFP challenge 99 - for a teenager (close up)

My son plays drums in two local bands (with some friends from school) so this image from Kenny K is just perfect for him – and I’m pleased to report that it was well received!!  I distressed all the edges to within an inch of their lives and inked the image panel with a cats eye chalk ink pad.  The papers are a bit of a mish mash but the overall result is ok I think.  The music notes were bought from eBay when I first started crafting!!

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen and the lucky winner will receive a £10.00 voucher to spend in her online store.

My son’s birthday card

Good morning everyone.  As I don’t have a passion for promarkers challenge card for you today (as our challenge runs for two weeks) I thought I would share a card I made for my son’s birthday, which was Sunday – I can’t believe my baby is 14 years old!!!!!  This is the card that his brother gave to him.  Actually this card could fit the challenge over at PFP as the digi image is new and all the papers are very old lol!  The image is so cool and its from Lori Boyd Designs – her images are so much fun and there is something for everyone.  Here is my card:

I’m not too sure about the skin being grey also, but I think it does tone in with everything else.  Overall I’m happy with my shading and the image is so gorgeous I think it would look good whatever the colouring was like!

Passion for Promarkers #45 – DT card

PFP challenge 45 - use 2 images

PFP challenge 45 - use 2 images (close up)

PFP challenge 45 - use 2 images (inside)

This week our theme over at passion for promarkers challenge has been chosen by Gina and she would like us to ‘use 2 images on our projects’.  I decided to make a 6x6 gatefold card, after I had seen one on Kellie Winnell’s blog (her friend Lauren had a tutorial on her blog and you can check it out here).  For my card I used two new images from DigiStamp Boutique from the ‘cute japanese characters’ set and the two I have used are ‘Kishi’ and ‘Sachi’.  The set is currently on special offer (for three images) so pop over to DSB to check them out.  I coloured the images with the following promarkers:

Sachi (green image) – pastel green but the colour was too strong so I used the blender to ‘bleach out some of the colour and added pastel blue over the top and blended again.  Marsh green for the flowers.

Kishi (yellow image) – tulip yellow but again it was too bright so blended out the colour and added meadow green over the top and blended a little more.

Skin – ivory, blush and pastel pink

I used cool grey 1 for the outline this time as my ice grey 1 is running out :)

The papers are BG from my new kioshi paper pad and the plain card is bazzill bling (gorgeous but really difficult to photograph due to the shimmer).  I used my new MS border punch for the strips and the sentiment is by pink gem designs, which I cut out with my circle nesties.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I also added some matching paper and another Kishi image to the inside of my card and cut out the largest circle nestie to be able to write my message.

Our sponsor this week is Letraset and one lucky winner will receive a 5 pack of promarkers.

ProMarkerInfo

Also we have two new team members joining us today Emma and Tracy.  You may remember they were GDT with us in February.  I hope you will pop over and leave them a welcome comment.  Emma and Tracy are also offering a prize to celebrate their arrival on the team – each will choose one winner of a Letraset rubber stamping kit – so another good reason to enter the challenge this week.

Susie’s sassy challenge #10 – DT project

Well the last fortnight has flown by and it’s now time for a new challenge over at Susie’s sassy challenge.  The theme for this fortnight is ‘Easter’ (so a nice easy one for you).  I decided not to make a card this time (WHY I ask myself) and made a cute little hanger (sorry the pics are so bad but it was really hard to photograph).

SSC #10 - Easter SSC #10 - Easter (2)

 SSC #10 - Easter (1)

The image is ‘Easter Anya’ from the greeting farm and I coloured her with promarkers.  The gorgeous card is bazzill bling and the ribbon is SU.  The ‘eggs’ were made by using the smallest oval nestie and I added strips of patterned paper to make them resemble Easter eggs.  The sentiment was created on the pc and the adhesive stones are from Joanna Sheen

The prize for this fortnight’s challenge is a guest designer spot with us for our challenge on 8th April – definitely a prize worth entering for – I’m sure you’ll agree.  Please check out the rest of the DT cards/projects as they are all stunning.

I can also enter my hanger in the following challenges:

Rosie D’s challenge – think spring

Roses on paper challenge – Easter

The townscrapper challenge – spring/warm weather

Stamp something challenge – something girly

Creatalicious challenge – a little something

Stamp, scrap & doodle Saturday challenge – open theme

Die cut dreams challenge – no flowers allowed

CRAFT challenge – citrus

I hope you all have a good day – I’m counting the hours as tomorrow is my day off *woohoo*.  I cannot wait, I am going out with my mum, as I haven’t spent the day with her for soooo long!   Girlie shopping day sounds like fun…..or maybe Ikea?  Thanks for stopping by today.
