In 2014, the Donetsk airport was one of the hottest spots of the confrontation between Ukrainian forces and Donbass militias

DONETSK, December 26. /TASS/. Bomb engineers are scheduled to start demining the territory of the Donetsk airport in 2025, said Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

"Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin and I toured the Oktyabrsky neighborhood of Donetsk and also inspected the airport," he said on Telegram. "In 2025 we will start demining and surveying the airport and other preparatory work for building an air gateway of the capital of the Donetsk People's Republic."

In 2014, the Donetsk airport was one of the hottest spots of the confrontation between Ukrainian forces and Donbass militias. First, it suspended its operations and then it was razed by the fighting.
