BANDANA T NECK BIB

MATERIALS:
Approximately 1.5 ounces of worsted weight cotton yarn, like Sugar ‘n Cream
Size US 7 (4.5 mm) 16 inch circular needle
Tapestry needle

GAUGE:
Approximately 4 stitches = 1 inch

SIZE:
Approximately 10 inches wide by 9 inches long at widest/longest point.

NOTES:
Read instructions through before beginning.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cast on 64 stitches with a stretchy cast on.  Join in the round, being careful not to twist.

Rounds 1-8:  *K1, P1.  Repeat from * around.  (64 sts)

Round 9:  K1, P1, 25 times (50 sts).  Okay maybe this is a little obsessive, but I like the starting tail to be at center back.  Bind off 28 sts, be sure to keep your bind off loose. (36 sts remaining)

Remainder of bib is worked back and forth in rows.

Row 1: Knit 2, yarn over, knit across the row.   if you are as obsessive as I am:  On this row only: knit to last stitch, slip that stitch as if to purl to the right needle.  Pick up both loops of the first bound off stitch with left hand needle, slip the slipped st back on the left needle and knit it and the picked up loops together.  If not as obsessive:  just knit that last st and get on with row 2.  (36 sts)

Row 2: Knit 2, yarn over, knit across the row.
Repeat row 2 until you have 46 stitches on the needle.

Row 3: Knit 2, turn, knit 2, turn, knit 1, k2tog, yarn over, k2tog, knit to end of row.  (45 st)

Now begin decreases.  For convenience we will continue with above numbering sequence.

Row 4: Knit 2, turn, knit 2, turn, knit 1, k2tog, yarn over, k2tog, knit to end of row.  (44 st)

Row 5:  Knit 1, k2tog, yarn over, k2tog, knit to the end of the row.
Repeat row 5 until you have 4 stitches on the needle.

Row 6:  Knit 4.

Bind off.  Weave in ends.
Bandana Bib folded in half to show shape.

Comments:
Love the pattern, but have a question.

On Round 9 you say K1 P1 2 times (50 stitches). Not sure what you mean. I havent been knitting very long so maybe I am just dense. Thanks!

Thanks for catching that, it should be 25 times. I changed it thanks to you.

My pleasure! Now I can make your cute bib. :)

Oh, that's a great idea!

Love the pattern. Do you have crochet instructions for this pattern?

Only crocheted on is:
