RIPPLE CAPELET Version 2

Finished at last.
Close up of ties.

I've been crocheting shawls for the Elders at Pine Ridge Reservation and wanted something that will stay on the shoulders. So this pattern was born.

Notes:
1. Read instructions all the way through before beginning.
2. Capelet in photo is crocheted of Caron One Pound Royalty and Red Heart Kid’s Yarn Crayon.
3. If you choose to change colors, complete the last pull through of the last stitch with the new color. Then tie a square knot and using your tapestry needle weave the old color in and out of the back loop of the previous row. You can pull the old color enough to hide the knot inside the dc dec of the previous row. After crocheting several stitches use your tapestry needle to weave the new color in and out of the back loop of this row. Or use your preferred method.

Special Stitches:
Dc dec over 2 (decrease) = Yo and draw up a loop in next dc, yo and draw through 2 loops, yo and draw up a loop in next dc, yo and draw through 2 loops, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

Picot = Ch 3, slipstitch in 3rd ch from hook.

Worsted weight yarn approximately 13 ounces
J (6.0 mm) crochet hook
Tapestry needle

OMG Another great pattern! I almost always just use YOUR patterns, why go anywhere else! Thanks again!

I love this capelet and my 3 year old niece would to. Is this for adults - or what size would it be for? Jenna is really tiny - but she LOVES purple and being a princess!

When you get a chance could you drop me an email? I've printed out the pattern - but am waiting till I hear about the sizing.

Thank! Tina "The Book Lady"

I appreciate all your time to share your patterns. What size would this be for little girls ? I needed about a 7-8 but do not see any sizing. I did see on the other one an "average" but is that an average woman's or child's ? Thanks so much.

The Elders at Pine Ridge are adults, so this pattern is for adults.

T received this from a mom that wanted to make a smaller version.

I actually figured out that for each extra point you add on 5 stitches when you chain on and to decrease a point you take off 5 stitches. I didn't figure out sizes but I measures the amount that I chained on around the neck of my daughter and added the extra two stitches so that it came out that I chained on 44 stitches and it fit her properly around the neck.
I hope this makes sense to you and is helpful for anyone else that might ask.
Thank you for the wonderful pattern!
