TIME for Make My Monday

Good morning from sunny Crewe... did I say sunny... YES!
better make the most of it.

Its Monday so time for a new challenge at MMM
still in the monthly style of  Men/Boys  and the theme is
TIME

The large Scroll and clock stamp are from Tattered Angels Time Traveller set. The sentiment is from Paper Artsy all stamped in Versafine Sepia
. I had so many ideas for this weeks challenge but when I sat down to to start I just couldn't get my ideas to work! :o(

I went over the stamped image with a VersaMarker watermark pen in an haphazard way then sprinkled with Cosmic Shimmer EP, Olympic Gold Lustre.
I  like the subtle shimmer effect.

The background was stamped with Viva decor gorgeous scroll stamp in Versafine for a water colour effect. Hope you can see it. I ran the sepia Ink around the edges and lightly embossed in the Olympic Gold EP.

lets finish Caz's men/Boy theme with a flurry of TIME pieces .. scuse the pun! lol.
Have a great Monday. If you're in the UK make the most of the "dry" day today...
Hope its sunny where you are .
 take care

Workshop update

Here's some of the work that I did for the Cubby Hole Workshop on Saturday my first ever time at taking a workshop, I normally attend! lol...I had a great time Thank you to the lovely people who attended... you know who you are :o)

Carol who owns the Cubby Hole   asked me to do the workshop after she'd seen my  first attempt on a
6"x 6" canvass which was originally intended for the Floral Fantasy challenge at the Cubby Hole.

I recently saw a canvass painted by Yvonne Coomber and loved it! It was on display in an art shop in Dartmouth. A couple or so weeks ago I thought I'd have a go and see what I could come up with... Yvonne Comber's work is fabulous, lots of splats a splodges on a huge canvass with fabulous colours and depth. and you feel like you could take a walk in a meadow full of flowers.
My  canvases are very small in comparison.
so in the Style of Yvonne Coomber
I've no idea how Yvonne achieves her fabulous art but this was done with baby wipes, acrylic paint, cocktail sticks, coffee shop stirrers (you know the ones) splats and splodges.

This one in my journal started life with the waste paint off the baby wipes.
I took photographs of every ones fantastic, different and fabulous art work and I will blog them all in the week.
 Take care

Birds/ Animals

Good morning every one.. Its week 45 at Make My Monday and still following Caz's Men and Boys theme we would like to see Birds/Animals on your projects
here's mine
I used a Stampedous Jumbo Songbird rubber stamp. It is an image of a blackbird singing.... I know my bird is pretending to be a blue tit but as a blackbird my card looked a bit dull :o) (see below) and I hadn't used the lovely poem included in the stamp or any thing relating to a songbird!... that might be because i didn't read the package title or the poem... would've helped with the design if I had! lol plus it was last minute (it usually is) because the project  I was working on  (altered box) didn't work out even with the help from my lovely craft buddies at the Cubby Hole... thank you guys ... I will finish it!

Image as a Blackbird

I stamped the image in Versafine Onyx Black then painted over in places with DI Shabby Shutters and some Whispers Strokes. I swooshed the colours onto my craft mat, sprayed lightly with water and picked up with a paint brush. I used DI Stormy Sky around the image.
The little greeting is from Stampingallday
I know I say this every week.. but I do look forward to seeing your projects and don't forget there is a prise from Marianne Designs for the over all winner.
Enjoy your day... even in the rain :o)

Week 45 at Make My Monday and LIM week 63

Good morning to you all, it's a bright morning ..so far :) here in Crewe, hope the weathers good where you are.

This week at Make My Monday
Caz would like you to use a Sports / Hobbies theme for Men / Boys on your project.
Producing masculine cards is not my favourite thing so this has been a bit of a challenge for me:) but contrary to expectations I've enjoyed the theme ..
here's my cards
I bought this stamp when I first became interested in rubber stamps... it was used to make a card for my son :)
after that it hasn't been used much but it was just right for the MMM challenge plus it's one of the few humerous stamps I have. I find it difficult to come up with humerous cards, do you ?

POP along to the MMM  challenge site and check out my teamies wonderful inspiration pieces... and have a go, we'd love to see you.

 Products used
Main Image: Stamps Happen It's Only a game.
Pro markers, Whispers Strokes, water colours
Stamp Bord
Provo Craft Embossing Plate
 Tim Holtz Distress inks

GRRRR I can't get rid of this big gap!

This next card is also an attempt at "Humerous" it also fits the bill for the challenge at LIM which is to make a One Layer Card and to my horror with doodles!... I can't draw for toffee! so I thought I would have to give LIM a miss this week but with tongue in cheek this is what I came up with using the MMM theme of men/boys, sports/hobbies

This is my doodling!!
I "painted" the grass with water colour paint then "doodled" with a black marker pen ....lol

As usual I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs to admire your work
take care  see you at your place :)

Week Two of Men/Boys at Make My Monday

This week it's all about Masculine Vintage!
All the backing papers are downloads unfortunately I can't remember where I got them.
When I first started down loading images etc I just put them in a folder titled Backing Papers and another one called Toppers and Images.. no mention of where I got them  :o(. Now everything is downloaded into specific named folders... much better.

This lovely watch stamp is from
Chocolate Baroque A4 stamp plate called Punky Romance.
The chain is from a box of old jewellery put aside for just such a purpose as this.
The watch has been stamped and embossed. The sentiment is from
 Paper Artsy

I shaped the pocket watch slightly to give more dimension

This shows the layers ,distressing, inking around the edges and the decorative chain.
The DT have ,as usual provided you with lots of inspiration on the Make My Monday challenge blog. Take a look, have a go, we would love to see your work.. Don't forget that this month you will be in with a chance of winning the prize from Marianne Designs
Hope you're all enjoying the Easter break  even if the sun did come a week too early!

LIM no. 2

Hello to everyone, hows you?. Although I think this is too much for LIM I'm showing it anyway :o) cos its the LIM picture inspiration that inspired me and I was dying to use this stamp.
I originally intended just to use the gorgeous corner image (Blockheads Paper Arts. Victorian Eccentricities) as a stand alone image but due to unforeseen "blobs" the tag and flowers were rushed into action, otherwise it would've been another piece for the scrap box!

I had to look on line to find the colour of  Parakeets...this one is a Ring -necked parakeet. All this instant information at our fingertips.... marvellous!

This is Missi asleep amidst the chaos of my desk!... for some reason she loves it here and usually sleeps on something I need lol.
 bye for now

Men /Boys

Good morning. It's a new month and that means a new topic at Make My Monday. This month Caz is the lead DT member and she has chosen Men and Boys to be the overriding theme for the month, this first week  Caz would like to see some WHEELS on your projects.
Also this month MMM is being sponsored by
Marianne Designs
with this fabulous prize

There are some wonderful inspiration from the DT pop across and take a look
Here's mine.

I used some of the images from this free digital download picture of cars from the The Graphics Fairy...
I printed onto light weight card then chose four  .. used only three in the end lol
I used a black Promarker around the edges and mounted onto  slightly larger card.
The images were then mounted with sticky pads onto black card stock that had been embossed. The car on the left is raised a little higher. The sentiment is from a Darkroom Door set of stamps called, funnily enough, Enjoy Life

This shows the lovely deep embossing from a TH Sizzix Alteration die, Retro Circles plus  a screw type brad in the centre of a circle...

I covered the the black of the cars with Diamond Glaze
It was tricky getting it just where I wanted it to be :o)
The whole thing was then mounted onto whitecardstock then adhered to a 15cmx15cm  black half fold card.

Looking forward to seeing your WHEELS!
have a good week

Less is More "Lucky Dip"

Picture Inspiration at LIM
here's mine

the idea for this card came from a lovely Cubby Hole friend, Christine C who gave me the most delightful card for my birthday. Christine used a template to make a beautiful, subtle background for a stamped image. I thought I'd have a go at the same type of effect...mmm I was a bit too heavy handed with the ink, nothing subtle about it! So I added more ink and turned into the focal point! i rather like it  :o)

I added, glitter, buttons and ribbon to give it some texture. I painted darker bits of pink ink to add interest to the stippled flower template.

Lots of shadows on the pics... taken outside in the sun!.
 Enjoy the rest of theSunday.
take care xx suzi b xx
