I'm busy making Christmas cards (for my friend Jeanie) so not much time for blogging or other projects so thought you might like a sunny reminder of warmer days ... ok ok it wasn't that much warmer ... but doesn't this photo cheer you up?
I hope to have all of them  finished  ( christmas cards that is) before Jeanie returns to France where she lives with her lovely hubby Bill.

Spooooky!

I think this looks a bit "wooden" (scuse the pun) & childlike...lol especially as I've just seen  Sue Roddis Halloween cards on her Jabberwocky blog... they are fantastic!.. added 29.09.09

I was rummaging through one of my bits boxes.. yes I have more than one & came accross this. I'd done some playing about with the dreamweaver stencil & glimmer mist. I then started playing with the image in photoshop, printed this.... & into the bit box it went!  ... Wouldn't it make a great halloween card... mmmm ...will have to think about this I don't have much halloweeny stuff .. get me thinking cap on.
I do have a halloween  DVD from Pink Petticoat but not sure .. I'll have a play but really I should be doing Christmas card orders  maybe this can wait a bit...

Finished card .. using  Pink Petticoat Spooky Doodlies DVD

Workshop leftovers

These are the card remnants from my first ever workshop. The workshop was at my local craft shop... The Cubby Hole. It was a matchbox work shop with Sue Roddis. I had a great time, met some lovely people & learnt lots. I plan to "do something " with these bits soon... watch this space. Iwill also put a picture of the matchboxes when I figure out how to get the best photo to display it.

Ties Revisited... Pretty Card?

I was supposed to be making pretty cards to day & this is what happened! Not what I wanted to achieve at all but one of my friends ... Jeanie who lives in France & is coming over to UK on Friday would like  lots of mens cards to suit all ages! Mens cards are not my favourite thing! ... sorry guys...no reflection on your lovely selves...

Mind you I seem to be in a blank space at the mo.. too many ideas roaming around in my head & not enough practical application.

Going shopping to Chester on Friday with two of my friends, Maureen & Desi. We are looking for accesories to go with Maureens wedding dress, for shoes especially. We hope to have a smashing  day.

I didn't tell you about our (Maureen, Jenny,Joan & me)  trip to Manchester last Tuesday. We had a great day managed to get Maureens wedding dress, had a lovely lunch. bit of  slurp ( wine) time before we caught the train home. Great train journey on  Virgins Pedalino (spelling?)  first stop Crewe , 2nd stop Milton Keynes then London. The train stopped at Crewe  at 19.30 but the doors we were trying to get out at wouldn't open!  So there we were on our way to MK... Cutting a long story short we were escorted to first class with a free cuppa by the train manager who arranged for us to catch a train  back to Crewe from MK. We arrived back in Crewe at 22.00 . Not bad really & it made us chuckle.

Relaxing Day?

Well I did enjoy the Art Stamp Wales stamp & papercraft fair in Wrexham on Saturday. It was uncrowded, easy to get around lots to see, but not as much as at the HSNW show  at Port Sunlight . It was lovely to be able to walk around without any jossling for position to see all the goodies or demos. I found it quite relaxing although this made it easier to spend!  which of course I did... naughty   ;o)  Then I  discovered I'd left my mobile at home this wouldn't have been a problem normally but I didn't know where I would be spending the night... lol ..  meaning at Joe's or at my house. Joe lives in Wales & I live in Crewe Cheshire. Joe was at an air show at Broughton Chester (Where the airbus wings are made)  Although I know his home phone number  I can't remember his mobile number so even using a phone box wouldn't help.So when I'd finished browsing , sitting with a coffee chatting to other crafters (lovely) I wasn't sure which way to aim my car! Just as I was leaving the car park I heard my phone!. I quickly pulled over opened the boot & rummaged in my over night bag thinking my phone must be here... I couldn't find it, I was puzzled so I sat in the car waiting for it to ring again ( its set to repeat) sure enough it went again it was obviously in the car but the sound was muffled must be in the boot. I ransacked the overnight bag & the contents of the boot (bags for life, walking boots n' all that)  still no phone  I was baffled , I walked slowly back  to the drivers door ,opened it & guess what there was my phone on me seat ! I'd been sitting on it. no wonder it was muffled!! It must've slipped out of my bag & being black & very slim I never noticed it... (I'm no princess then!.... Princess & the Pea ?) I had loads of messages from my family & Joe . I caught up with them all &  drove home to Crewe where Joe joined me later that evening. On the way home I called at my son & daughter -in - laws to welcome them home from 3 weeks in Spain. My garandaughter Ellie gave me a prezzy from Spain a cute metal cat made from nuts & bolts it now sits on the shelf in my kitchen reserved for "Quirky Cats". I'm a bit of a cat person not got one at the mo ...   :0(

First Stamp

This is a card I made with the my first stamp purchase when I had very little stash & even less card making knowledge!  The backing paper was free from clip art, I stamped & embossed the dragon fly twice  The wings are layered ( not sure I can call it decoupage ) the second layer was stamped onto vellum then I experimented with.colour &  glitter glue . I finshed the little butterfly with wire & beads.  The sentiment is peel offs. Dragon fly brad & a few tiny pearls that I got from a pound type shop which were meant to be used for nail art . I was quite pleased with it but more importantly so was my sister. It's not scanned all that well its much better in real life as they say..
After this first attempt I saw Glenda Waterworth on Create & Craft & the obsession began. Now I can't move for "stash" & still I want ,want ,want not only more stash but also knowledge.

Card for Diddy

This was made from Pink Petticoat one in a melon download It doesn't show up very well but I cut around the flowers & melon paper then laid it over the stripe paper which had been printed directly onto card The flower paper is carried over to the back by about 1". Then I played with flowers, glitter, wire, buttons  & beads.  Sue x
