Enjoy The Little Things

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card I made a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance to photograph and upload thanks to my migraine.  The appointment I had yesterday with the new neurologist went really well and I've gotten some answers to several things and possibly a new course of treatment.  One thing I did learn is that my long haul COVID is definitely adding to my migraine issues, so if you have not gotten your COVID vaccination, please get it ASAP.  You don't want to end up with my health issues.

Ok, now back to my card.  I bought this stamp set from Colorado Craft Company, or 3C, during their end of year sale and still haven't used it yet (NBUS).  Unfortunately, it's retired now but is from the Lovely Legs collection called Enjoy Every Moment.  I was inspired by Splitcoaststampers March Virtual Stamp Nights MAR23VSND Seafood challenge.  I started out by stamping the image, and saying, in memento tuxedo black onto scrap Hammermill white card stock before cutting it down to adhere as a mini slimline card.  After coloring it using both my prismacolor and copic markers, using my Picket Fence Studios blending brushes, I stippled some Tim Holtz broken china distress ink and Adirondack caramel ink around the edges before layering and adding some white mini brads.  Once I was finished layering, I decided to add some of the left over broken china ink that was still on my brush to help color in the sky a bit more and give the appearance of clouds/fog.  The final touches were adding some waterfall ice stickles and Sparkle Midnight Shimmer bling from Crafty Meraki.  I really love that there's some tiny bling gems in the set.

A Swirly Bon Appetit!

Hello and welcome.  I'd like to share another card made for Splitcoaststampers VSN challenges.  For this one, I decided to pull out one of my favorite Stampin Up sets Viola and Viola To Go.  Unfortunately, they're both retired.  I sold my set back in 2016 in a panic when we had to move and regretted that ever sense.  Finally found a replacement set on the secondary market that I didn't have to sign over my first born plus not have to pay a crazy amount.  I digress.

I started out by stamping my chef, spaghetti and saying in memento tuxedo black ink onto a scrap of white Hammermill card stock before coloring everything using both my prismacolor and copic markers.  Once the coloring was finished, I layered everything before adding brads and setting aside.  My card is dry embossed using a Sizzix swirl embossing folder and my big shot.  After the dry embossing was finished I adhered the layered image onto the card using glue dots.  Taking a black gel pen, I highlighted the "Bon Appetit", chef's mustache and neck scarf to help them stand out a bit more.  I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

Candy Bars And Birthday's

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share a card made for one of the challenges for Splitcoaststampers Virtual Stamp Night (VSN).  Now I've had this stamp for at least 7 or 8 years but I don't seem to use it as much as I should since it's easy to color.  The entire image on my card is the entire stamp - no masking, fussy cutting, etc required.  So let's get to it.

After stamping my image on some scrap Neenah white card stock, I colored it using my prismacolor and copic markers before stippling some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and mowed lawn distress ink around the edges then layering.  Once that was finished, I took my card base and dry embossed only half of the card using an old Tim Holtz tree bark embossing folder with my Big Shot© before adding a scrap of designer paper to create my border.  The final touches were adding brads to the layered image, and adhering using some pop up glue dots, I highlighted the Happy Birthday using a black gel pen before taking a fingernail and distressing the edges of the panel.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out since I made it while dealing with a migraine and sinus infection/bronchitis.

Biting Me and More VSN

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a couple of cards, and a tag, made for Splitcoaststampers Virtual Stamp Night and a few other challenges.

First up is a tag made using a mini set I won a couple of years back from Visible Image and hadn't used yet.  I don't see it listed anymore on their website so it must be retired now.  I started out by stenciling a dot background using a couple of Tim Holtz Multi Shifter Dots Stencils using fired brick and stormy sky distress inks before over stamping my images in memento tuxedo black.  After layering my image panel to create a tag, I added some ribbon scraps and red sequins from my stash adhering the sequins using glossy accents.  I'll add it to a card later.

Next up is a card made using a different Visible Image's set Rock Out.  I started out by creating my background by running a Tim Holtz tumbled glass and wild honey distress inks over my image panel before adding some Tim Holtz Multi Shifter Stencil dots by applying broken china and spiced marmalade distress inks using Picket Fence Studios blending brushes.  Once I was satisfied with my background, I stamped out my images in memento tuxedo black ink before layering and adding brads.  The card is stamped in broken china ink using Visible Image's Ink Splats.  After popping up my layered image panel, I added some Spiked Ocean Water sequins adding them using Glossy Accents.

Finally, I have a cute little House Mouse card made using the retired Hummingbird Express and Too Cute saying.  Although Stampendous now produces the House Mouse line, my stamps are from Stampa Rosa which is closed down.  I started out by my image, and saying, in memento tuxedo black on a Hammermill white scrap card stock, before coloring using Castle Arts pencils then stippling tumbled glass distress ink around the edges and layering.  After adding some black brads, I added some crystal ice stickles to finish it off.

Flowers and Cows

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a couple of cards made for the Summer Festivals Virtual Stamp Night over at Splitcoaststampers.

My first card was a mini slimline made using the Fairy Swing digital image from All Dressed Up digital stamps that I've had for a bit and never used.  After printing my image onto Neenah white card stock, I colored her using both Lyra flesh tone and Castle Arts pencils before stippling Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink and Stampin Up regal rose ink using my blending brushes from Picket Fence Studios.  Once all of the coloring/stippling was finished, I layered her and added some pink brads before adhering to my card using glue dots.  I then punched several flowers, and a couple butterflies, from scrap card stock using my Martha Stewart punches then adhered them using Ranger's glossy accents before adding crystal ice stickles to the centers.  The final touch was highlighting this sweet little girl's eyes and shoes using a clear Sakura 3D glaze pen.

My second card uses a couple of dusty, retired, Stampin Up sets I've had for YEARS.  Did I say years?? Since I needed a thank you card, I pulled out the cow/saying from Stampin Up's Udderly Moovelous set and stamped that in memento tuxedo black before coloring the cow image using prismacolor and copic markers before layering and adding brads.  For the background I used the retired Stampin Up Chicken Wire background and stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink before adding to my card base.  After that I added my layered image by popping it up using dimensionals before attaching a small blue gingham bow.

I Am The Resurrection And The Life

Hello and welcome.  I'm playing along with the Virtual Stamp Night challenges over at Splitcoaststampers as my health is allowing.  The card I'd like to share with you is one I made for the challenges as well as other blog challenges. The image is from the Foliage Cross Mini Set from Gracielle Design I've for some time and never used (NBUS).

After I combined the image and sentiment by using a watermark program, I printed it off before coloring using Castle Arts pencils.  I then stippled some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink using my Picket Fence Blending Brushes before layering and adding brads.  I then took the layered image and added it to the card using glue dots.  The final touch was taking a Sakura 3D black glaze pen and going back over the saying so it stood out more.

Christmas At The Beach

Hello and welcome.  First, COVID update on me - hung up with the lung doctor this afternoon. I'm still having symptoms although testing negative. She said it "normally " takes 6mos to recover completely from post-COVID symptoms. Since I was diagnosed end of January, it's going to be sometime this summer before I feel like myself again. She said not to push it & do everything I can to avoid re-exposure. Even though mask guidelines here have been lifted, and I'm vaccinated plus boosted, I'll be wearing a mask for the foreseeable future. She's doing everything possible to keep me off antibiotics and steroids since I've been on them so much. She's trying to prevent me from becoming immune to antibiotics.  So with that in mind, I'm going to try coloring and creating whenever I'm able to in order to keep my sanity.

The first card I want to share is a clean and simple card using the Winter Sparrows set from Lawn Fawn.  I started out by stamping the images in memento tuxedo black and rich cocoa inks onto some scrap white card stock before coloring using Castle Arts pencils.  After blending my coloring, the card was finished.

For my next card
, I wanted to go with a beach theme and have used this cute little digital image I've had for a while from Sherry West Art called Beach Bum Gnome and haven't used.  After printing him off onto Neenah white card stock, I colored him using Castle Art pencils.  Since I thought he looked a bit like the ZZTops band from the 80's (that dates me), I went with them as my inspiration.  (See photo)  Once my coloring was finished, and blended, I stippled some Tim Holtz Broken China distress ink along with some Adirondack caramel ink before layering and adding brads.  Once I added it to my card, I highlighted parts of the water and sun using ice stickles and then the sunglasses/beach ball using Ranger glossy accents.

Surf's Up!

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a card that was inspired by a recent Splitcoaststampers Virtual Stamp Night challenge.  I had come across this old retired Taylored Expressions mini set called Surf's Up!

I started out by stamping my penguin in memento tuxedo black ink onto some scrap Neenah white card stock before coloring using both copic and prismacolor markers.  Once I was finished coloring the penguin, I created the "beach" he's standing on using my copic markers before stippling my "ocean" behind him using some Tim Holtz tumbled glass and broken china distress inks.  Taking a Picket Fence Studio slimline cloud stencil, blending brushes and some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink, I created my background clouds before stippling a little stormy sky distress ink around the white edges of the image panel then layered.  My card base was created using some scrap designer paper in my stash, along with some retired Stampin Up bliss blue card stock along with bliss blue dye ink stippled around the edges.  After adding the layered panel, using a Sakura black 3D glaze pen, I hand drew the "seagulls" before adding blue dew drops, waterfall ice stickles  and Ranger Glossy Accents to highlight the ocean water.  I'm very please with how this turned out.

Bearing Gifts

Hello and welcome.  I've been still dealing with health issues, but managed to get this card made using one of my favorite Christmas stamps.  I must have bought this stamp at least a decade ago.  It's a Stampendous stamp and I'm not sure they make it anymore.  The image/saying are perfect together and reminds me so much of my own cats.

After stamping my image panel in memento tuxedo black, I colored everything using Castle Art pencils before stippling Tim Holtz brushed corduroy and Adirondack caramel inks around the panel they layered.  I then edged the panel using a memento black "cat eye" ink pad before layering. Now since I didn't have matching brads, at least I none I could find, I dusted off some Stampendous Class-A-Peel jewel stickers.  My card base is dry embossed using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder with my big shot before sanding the raised snowflakes to make them stand out better on the black card.  A gold cord and ice stickles finish off the card.  I'm really happy with how this turned out since I used non-traditional Christmas colors.

Dear Santa Always Jingle

Hello and welcome.  Today I'm playing along with a few challenges over at Splitcoaststampers, among others, using a couple of my snarky Christmas stamps from Impression Obsession.

For my first card, I stamped the penguin from  Warm Wishes and colored using prismacolor markers before stippling Tim Holtz fired brick ink around the edges.  The Jingler saying is then stamped also in memento tuxedo black.  After layering, and adding brads, I took a black artist pen and added the faux sewing.  Taking my card, I then dry embossed it using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and stippled more ink around the edges.  I then took some scrap card stock and die cut my never before used (NBUS) Santa hat before stippling leftover ink around the edges and adding using glue dots.  The small pom on the end is added using micro pop dots.  The finishing touches were a small bow, white gel pen to the eyes and some diamond ice stickles.

My second card today also uses the Warm Wishes penguin.  This time I paired him with some scrap gingham blue designer paper and the Dear Santa saying also from Impression Obsession.  After my stamping and coloring were finished, I stippled some Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink around the edges before layering and adding some small button brads.  The layered image panel was then added to my card with with the gingham paper.  My final embellishments were a white gel pen to highlight the eyes, white/silver ribbon and some gin and tonic sequins.

Scribbles, Flowers And Butterflies

Hello and welcome.  Today I'd like to share with you a project inspired by National Scribble Day on March 27th.  I've never heard about this day until recently, have you?  For my project, I'm using a never before used (NBUS) cute little image called A Kids View Butterflies from Bugaboo.

After printing my image three times onto Neenah white card stock to create a type of "banner", and then colored them using Castle Art pencils with a blender pencil. Once that was done, I took my Slim Line Cloud Coverage stencil from Picket Fence Studios and created my cloud background using their blender brushes and Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink.  I then took some Tim Holtz forest moss distress ink and created the ground cover also using the blender brushes.  Then came the fun part.  Taking an empty can of chickpeas, and rinsing it out then allowing to dry, I adhered my colored images/banner using Scrappy Tape making sure the entire "banner" was adhered completely.  Once that was finished, I found some dusty scrap tulip ribbon I've had for years and adhered that also using the Scrappy Tape.  I then dug out some old, old Sandylion Essentials flower/butterfly stickers and adhered those using glue dots since they were no longer "sticky".  The final touches were highlighting the butterfly trails using Sakura 3D black glaze pen and then diamond ice stickles to highlight the flower, and butterfly, centers.

Here are the other pics showing the "banner" going all the way around.

Hello and welcome to another challenge over at Pammies Inky Pinkies.  This week we are sponsored by  We Are Three and I'm using their Floral Blooms which is a never before used one (NBUS) for me.

I started out by printing the slim line image onto Neenah white card stock so I could color it using pencils but then changed my mind and went with my prismacolor and copic markers instead.  Once the coloring was finished, I took a teardrop memento tuxedo black ink pad and rubbed it along the edges (DTP) of the colored image before layering.  For my card, I took some dusty Prima Sun kissed designer paper I've had for a few years and never used until now and added it to a bashful blue card base.  I then took some of the scrap designer paper and used it as one of the image panel layers.  My only embellishments were some pastel blue brads, some sunflower ribbon I've had for years in my stash, and a few drops of crystal ice stickles to highlight parts of the sun flowers.
