Just Add Ink #551...Just Add 3D - photo heavy

Hellooooo ~

Over at Just Add Ink today our new challenge kicks off - Just Add 3D. Rachael suggested this one & I had some fun creating these little Easter treat boxes (using the Love You Always boxes from the current mini catalogue) for our beautiful teachers.

You'll probably have worked out that this, & the previous couple of challenge pics, were all taken on the same day, which was rainy, dull & overcast - the perfect combination for lousy pics. I was working to get ahead prior to going on holidays. If only I was a bit more tech savvy I'd know how to clean them up & make them look as gorgeous as many other bloggers do....

I've wrapped the boxes in the pretty designer paper from the Ice Cream corner suite. These cute little bunnies are an MFT set of stamps that I reach for annually :)

The design team has created a variety of gorgeous projects for this challenge. Pop over to JAI to check them all out, then join the challenge fun with us!

We had an amazing two weeks in Queensland. The weather was stunningly perfect! We visited Fraser Island & all it offers - spent time at some gorgeous water spots, saw lots of the local wildlife & we finished our holiday with two nights in Brisbane where I got to spend precious time with my beautiful godson's. We had a day at Seaworld on the Gold Coast where my little guy absolutely fell in love with the dolphins (& has now proclaimed he is going to become a marine biologist) & little miss totally adored the seals. She even conquered her fears & rode a rollercoaster! It's good to be home but by gosh I've done a lot of washing & ironing since our return!

Here are just a handful of pics. Hubby made some amazing timelapse videos using his GoPro but if I add even one or two here this post will get ridiculously longer than it is already. Hope you enjoy a snippet into our holiday.

Ice cream at Noosa - the twins & I.

#Beach life.

Hubby got up verrrry early to catch the sun rise.

Stunning Lake Mckenzie - a long arduous drive on the island but absolutely worth it!

Champagne pools!

The Moheno shipwreck.

One of the locals - a dingo wandering about on the beach.

There was a family of goannas at our camp - I think this was one of the smaller visitors.

Just Add Ink #547...Inspiration

Happy Friday ~

It's new challenge time at Just Add Ink. Kim has given us an adorable Easter wreath inspiration image to work with this week. I adore pink so naturally that was the direction I took....& of course a little wreath. I went with the Easter theme by adding a sweet little copic coloured bun.

I made this card into a gift card/cash holder by adding a little pocket using designer paper inside. Apologies for dull pics. We've had crazy rain lately & not a lot of natural light. You can't even see the sparkle all over this :(

If you'd like to join us pop over to JAI & get all the details. Here is the banner for you.

We've got a big landscaping job going on at home. Thanks to the recent rain our dates have been pushed out but finally they got started yesterday! I'm going to miss some of the greenery we have currently but I do look forward to our new design....just wish it didn't take so many years for things to grow big again. I'm most looking forward to the new smart wifi watering system - it knows when it's raining & doesn't double water & I can control it from anywhere. Being a bit tech challenged I may or may not be in charge of it. Lol!

Have a wonderful Easter, however you celebrate it. My next project will come to you from Fraser Island. We're spending the school holidays up there enjoying the warmer weather & beaches.

Just Add Ink #498....Just Add E

Happy Friday ~

How is everyone doing in isolation these days? I have to say that as much as I love my children, my goodness they are keeping me on my toes....the noise level is driving me around the bend. And it's only early days yet.....

It's new challenge time over at Just Add Ink today & Tina has asked us to 'Just Add E' to our projects this week. Very timely with Easter around the corner. A lovely friend of mine asked if I could make three Easter cards for her niece & nephews since she won't be able to visit them this year :(  I'm sure they're going to love receiving happy mail!

I kept the cards very CAS. Using a base of Whisper White c/s, my copics for colouring & a couple of retired Stampin' Up! sets I had some fun. You can't see the Champagne Shimmer Mist that I sprayed in my photos which is a shame (I took my pics when it was getting a bit late in the day & losing light).

If you find yourself with more time on your hands than usual head over to JAI & join the challenge fun. We'd love to have you!

Take care, be kind to yourselves & try to take pleasure in the little things. For me that will be extra crafting time, & hopefully finishing some of the many projects I've started over the years. Knitting, chrocheting, colouring, reading, organising....

Just Add Ink #303 - Just Add anything with E

Hello and happy Friday ~

It's been a good week!  The twins had their immunisations on Wednesday afternoon and all went well, surprisingly. I'm still getting out there running every other day.  The weather has been lovely.  I have the best friends ever....!  I'll elaborate on that another time.

The new challenge over at Just Add Ink kicking off today is from Tina.  She wants us to add anything with an E to our projects.  I've gone with the obvious EASTER given the time of year.  However, you could choose embellishment, embossing, eggs, elephants.....you get the idea.

I really wanted to make an Easter card for my 'Adorable Godson'.  And every year I remember I'm super short on any stamps related to Easter despite the extensive supplies in my craft room.  Lucky I picked up the SAB Honeycomb Hello set that has this cute guy in it.  He's got a little sparkle because I stamped him onto Shimmery White c/s.  I also relied on my Oval Dies to create an egg shape to my focal area.

I made a Gate Fold card - in keeping with my effort to create a wider variety of fancy folds this year - mentioned in this post.

I wish I could remember the name of the designer paper I've used.  I wanted something soft because Adorable Godson is still only a baby.  Hopefully the pics show you how the white 'egg' locks into the larger lemon 'egg' to keep the card closed.

It was pretty difficult to photograph without shadows, so apologies for that.  Here it is open with lots of space to write my message before locking it closed again.  Righto I can get this in the post along with the cuddly bunny and some little choccie eggs now - I've been super organised and had it all ready for weeks!

If you'd like to join this fun challenge pop over to JAI and see what it's all about.  We love to visit your blogs and share some comment love.

See you back here again next week!

Easter Gift Boxes - Punch Art & Photo Heavy

Happy Monday!

Surprise surprise I'm back to show you some little Easter Treat Boxes.  A friend asked if I could put a few little gift card holders together for her children for Easter.  I decided that was a tad ordinary, and besides I don't actually own any Easter stamp sets.  So with huge help from Pinterest here is the line up.

Using the Two Tags die, Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip colour combo.

The Fry Box die, Pool Party and Whisper White colour combo.

A PTI Favor It Box using Baked Brown Sugar and Pink Pirouette colour combo.

The Fry Box die using Pistachio Pudding and Whisper White colour combo.

The Mini Treat Bag die, made into a box using Naturals Ivory.

So the bonus with these little gift boxes is that they'll not only hold a gift card, but a few little choccie eggs as well! Lucky kids.

If you read my last post you'll know I alluded to something special happening on Friday.  It was my birthday. I had a lovely day and was extremely spoilt with loads of phone calls, text messages, FB messages and even a couple of special visitors over the weekend.  We went out to dinner and two (yep two) dessert restaurants before coming home with very full tummies.  In fact I was quite uncomfortable.  I didn't wake feeling much better on Saturday morning either.  All that sugar was sitting in the pit of my belly!  It was very yummy at the time though lol.  Thank goodness birthdays only come around once a year.

Back later in the week.

Just Add Ink # 210 - Just Add Easter bags, boxes and baskets

Happy Friday to you all ~

We've been having an unusually wet week here in Canberra.  I don't think I've ever seen it looking so green.  Much nicer than the usual burnt brown.  It's been perfect crafting weather, but unfortunately for me I've been flat out busy all week and NO time to play!

I'm here to show you my latest Just Add Ink project.  Kim suggested we add Easter bags, boxes and baskets this week.  I made a punch art bunny similar to this one I made a few years ago.  I tried a landscape version this time - it makes him look like a little fatty though don't you think?

The little guy above has a tummy full of chocolate so he really is kinda fat I guess!  The gusseted bag of eggs is secured under the folded Top Note piece.  I used Very Vanilla and Soft Sky c/s.

The design team has come up with all sorts of different Easter bags, boxes and baskets this week so head over to JAI for some inspiration and join our challenge fun.  You may even get to tick a couple of gifts off your Easter list in the process!  Always a good thing.

Have a lovely weekend.

JAI#111...Just Add Easter

Thank goodness it's Friday ~

I'm soooooo looking forward to a couple of days to just hang out with Gorgeous Kid. I've had a 'mare of a week.

With the bunny due next weekend it is timely for our Just Add Ink challenge to be all about Easter projects. Mine isn't too original due to lack of time this week, however, I think these punch art bunnies are super cute. You can find a load of variations in blogland.

I used my brand spanking new Fancy Favor box (part of a recent birthday gift from BFF) as the base and then an assortment of punches. Then using a dauber I inked the edges in Basic Grey. My bow is the lovely Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding - sooo easy to tie. If you'd like a list of the punches I used just shoot me an email.

Hop (pun intended) over to JAI and check out the awesome projects the design team have come up with. I look forward to checking out all your fabulous entries this week and hopefully grabbing some great ideas for my own Easter packaging.

Easter Bunny Box Treats

ETA - Big woops...I wrote this post a week ago and totally forgot to take the pics and add them. It went live and I have been caught out. How completely slack of me. So sorry!

How cute are these two...

And check out the little fluffy bunny tails. Actually there's a bit of a story as to how these tails came to be...I'll give you the short version. Think hills, 10 year old boys, bikes, scooters, fun ... MASSIVE STACK, ouch!!!

Meantime I had been at my craft desk thinking that 'it would be really good if I had some coloured cotton wool balls ... but I'm not going to the supermarket just for that so I'll be using plain white'.

Fast forward to needing the first aid kit (for some seriously beat up, tyre and gravel burnt legs) and guess what I found ... you got it, a nice little zip lock bag of coloured cotton wool balls. Perfect. Not sure Gorgeous Kid would agree if I told him that his accident allowed me to 'find' the cute little bunny tails.

These bunnies have a 'belly box' full of eggs in a cello bag for a couple of sweet little people. As I'm running completely late, by the time they receive these all the other eggs will be long gone and this will be a lovely little 'eggstra' surprise.

The design and box measurements can be found here.

A belated Happy Easter to you all. I hope you're enjoying the Easter/Anzac Day long weekend, I certainly am.

Easter Sweet Treats

Happy long weekend ~

I put together these little cello bags of choccie goodness for my work colleagues. I was just going to 'top' them with a Happy Easter label when it occured to me that I could 'cute' them up just a little. I'm not a huge punch art fan, however, I do own every SU punch available and they don't get nearly as much use as they should so I went on the hunt and found these little bunnies over on Jayne Mercer's blog ... how sweet are they, and so simple too.

Unfortunately I had to take a quick snap before racing out the door to work this morning, and it was still dull and overcast at that time. This pic doesn't do them justice and I wish I'd photographed them individually, but you get the idea. The recipients loved them so that's the main thing!

Have a fantastic and restful Good Friday.
