Flower Clusters

Good Morning.

Meet today's card.
I'm playing with a new to me stamp from Magenta called Large Floral Bkg.  As soon as I saw it months ago, I knew I had to pick it up.  I love the free flowing look the flowers in clusters has.
I wanted to try using it with my Ranger Alcohol Lifting ink and a piece of previously inked Yupo I had done and so today was the day.

So like I said, I began with a piece of Yupo that I had inked with Ranger Alcohol inks.  I placed the that piece inside my Misti, inked the stamp with the Lifting ink then stamped it onto the AI Yupo inked sheet.  It lifted the colour so I was able to swap out the Yupo for a piece of plain white cardstock and transferred the ink onto it.
I cleaned the stamp then repeated that process to get a nice dark image.  The beauty of using the Misti for this process is that you can be sure the image will be in the right position for re-stamping every time.

I let the piece dry for a minute, then placed it back inside my Misti and stamped this lovely sentiment from Serendipity Stamps.
I added the finished piece over some pink cardstock then glued it all onto a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Crisp Morning

Meet today's card.

A very simple CAS one layer card created using this great stamp from Serendipity.
Here in Ontario, we have the day off so I was happy to have some time to stamp.

This morning at Splitcoast, the challenge was to create a 'thirds' card, stamp just on a third of your card base.

So here's how I created my card.
I began with a plain white card base and masked an area top and bottom with some Post-It tape.
I then inked up the scene with black Memento ink and stamped.  Using some diluted DOX inks, I adds some colour to the buildings then using a small sponge dabber, I coloured in the sky.
I removed the tape used for masking, then scored a line on the edges of the inked area using my ScorPal then added a perforated line on either side of those.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Sparkle- The Flower Challenge

Welcome
Time for some more fun at

We have a fun month coming up with a great 'Sparkle' theme as we celebrate our 2nd Birthday.
There are prizes to be won so please come and play along with us.
To celebrate, someone will win a $20 Gift card, a Guest Spot and there are also stamps and stencil to won as well.

So onto my card details.
A few weeks ago, I came across a technique called Serendipity.
Basically you take a piece of cardstock as the base and all your left over inked pieces, which in my case are a lot!!  Next, you tear your leftovers into pretty small pieces and glue them onto your basec being sure to overlap and mix them up.
When you base is totally covered with little scraps of papers, let it dry and then rub over it with a anti-static bag.  You stamp onto it and emboss with any colour you want.  I chose to use my Script stamp from Penny Black and embossed with a shiny silver to help give lots of detail and sparkle.
I cut my base into strips and mounted them behind the framed flower.  I saved a bit of my leftover paper to add as the matching flower head and added a clear shiny gem to the center.
I wove a piece of silver ribbon to help give my card more sparkle.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Hope you will come and play along with us.
