Hi-drangea

Spring is in full swing at The Four Seasons Challenge. It is our third final Spring themed challenge for 2024. This gorgeous mood board is there for your inspiration, but anything Spring goes.

I took my inspiration from the photo on the top right. I did not have a lilac image to use, so I went with a hydrangea and used lots of purple hues in my creation. Take a look at the moodboard, and see what inspires you. The Design Team members have created wonderful projects to inspire you. Check them out on the challenge blog HERE. Make yourself a cuppa, get crafty, and join us in the gallery. I can't wait to see what you create!

Meadow Bush Hello

I love the colors in the Altenew August 2023 Inspiration Challenge. As I was going through my Altenew stash, The Meadow Bush Stencil and Die set inspired me to play, and this is what happened. I used Ranger Minty Fresh Lunar paste on the centers of the flowers and it gave them a lovely sheen. I could not seem to catch it in my photo, but it looks great IRL.

Wish I Was There With You

The Color Hues #69 colors immediately brought these Waffle Flower (Orchid dies & stencils) NBUS supplies to mind, so I pulled them out and got to work. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

CAS Peonies -Thinking Of You

This card is a celebration of my first go with my new Altenew Stampwheel. It was a BD gift from my DH. I was a little dubious at first. I used what appeared to me to be an "easy to use" Altenew layering stamp set, and it turned out pretty well. I am usually pretty frustrated by layering stamps in terms of getting them lined up correctly. Lots of swearing usually involved. Sometimes tears. I watched Simon Hurley's review and demo, then I used to amazingly talented Michele Ferguson's tutorial with success. I will be posting another card soon with the results. I did let out a few "YAY's in the process. I am now ready to persevere.

Made With Love

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is flowers.

To create my card, I used the Altenew Spoon Daisy 3D Embossing Folder to create my top panel. I used a flat ink blending tool to apply distress ink to the raised surfaces. I hot foiled and die cut the butterfly and sentiment and adhered them to the panel. I used fun foam to pop the embossed panel up on 100# card stock and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and soak up some wonderful inspiration from the Design Team. Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

Thank You

I am pleased to be here today with my Guest Designer project for Retro Rubber Challenge #166. The challenge is to create something that is inspired by the photo below.

At Retro Rubber, the idea is to give old stamps some love. Use a stamp older than a year and you must include the age (or approximate age) of the stamp in your blog post.

When I saw the inspiration photo, I immediately thought of Impression Obsession's Flower Pitchers wood mounted rubber stamp that has been in my stash for at least 10 years. I stamped it on Neenah Solar White 80# card stock, colored it with Copics, and added Wink Of Stella to the flowers. I die cut the image with Pinkfresh Studio's Braided Tag die. I used Neeneh Solar White 110# card stock for my card base, and stenciled it with Pink Posh's Jungle Background stencil. I stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Best Friend Ever stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, and clear embossed it. I adhered the die cut with the floral image to the card bas and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and see how the Design Team interpreted the inspiration photo. Be inspired, let your creative juices flow, and come play!

Celebrate New Beginnings

Less Is More Challenge #445 begins today. We are challenged to make a Clean and Simple card that features the colors pale blue and yellow.
I love this color combination, and immediately know that I wanted to use this floral image. I channeled my inner Izzy Scrap, and decided to make my card square. I stamped and clear embossed the floral image, colored it with Zigs, and die cut it. I lightly stenciled the left side of the card, stamped and clear embossed the sentiment, and popped the die cut floral piece with foam tape. I will use it as a retirement card for a dear friend who is starting a new chapter. I wish her every happiness, good health  and great adventures.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple. See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

Supplies:
Stamps ~ Pinkfresh Studio Heart & Soul; Pinkfresh Studio - Mt Favorite Things To Say
Ink ~ VersaFine Onyx Black; Catherine Pooler It's A Boy

My favorite style is CAS, but I have grown into it. I used to love lots of layers and embellishments, but now I appreciate the "less is more" mentality. It's a big challenge to me to make a big artistic statement with a clean and simple design.

You're On My Mind

I bought the Ellen Hutson Summer Of Stamping Combo By Brandi Kincaid under the spell of Michele Ferguson, my chief enabler. What a wonderful bunch of images and sentiments that I just HAD to have. I used a technique using Brushos that I learned from Jennifer McGuire in THIS video. I just love these images, and the sentiments are so wonderful. Thank you, enabler (also responsible for that awesome Spellbinders Hemstitch Frame), and Jennifer and Brandi and Ellen.

Happiness

I recently discovered the The Rainbow Challenge, and I am so glad I did. It feels like it's a million degrees out today, so I am happily holed in in my craft room and I decided to play today. Challenge #19 is Tantalizing Tangerine. To create my card, I broke out my new Pinkfresh Studio goodies - Heart and Soul Stamps and die and Oval Foliage Wreath die. I used Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Encouragement for my sentiment. Some heat embossing and die cutting and my card was done. It's very simple, but elegant and I love the color - Tangerine Tango from my old SU cardstock stash.

Thinking Of You

I made this card yesterday and it raised my spirits. It was a glorious day, and being outside for some much needed sunshine and movement was a wonderful thing.
I've decided to take time every day to make something, and to use supplies that have been sleeping in my stash for far too long. In "normal" times when I am working, I have little time to do other challenges than those for which I design. So I am going to try to expand my making during these not at all normal times!

Yesterday, I went back in the way-back and pulled out this wonderful WPlus9 set from 2013 - Fresh Cut Florals. When it first came out, gorgeous creations were popping out all over and I just had to have it. Well, I bought it and never used it! So I pulled it out along with my box of PTI inks, and went to town. It took me forever to make it, but I had all the time in the world. I arranged the flowers and leaves on a panel die cut with Spellbinders Hemstitched Rectangles. Michele Ferguson made me buy these - she is such an enabler with all of her amazing creations. Now I need them in all shapes.
