Step Aside, Coffee

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS. Our Code Word for ATCAS Challenge #187 is ONE LAYER. Barb is our wonderful hostess.
Please note: After this challenge, Addicted To CAS, along with all of the challenge blogs run by Kylie Purtell, will be suspended for 6 months while Kylie takes a much needed break.

Now, on to my card. I love making one layer cards. They used to terrify me, but now I often opt to make them even if not required. The Step Aside, Coffee stamp and sentiment from Unity Stamp Company has been laying on my desk crying out to be used. When I saw it on a card a while ago, I just had to have it, but it came, and then it sat. I decided that the time had finally come to break it out and ink it up!

I stamped the image in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on a Neenah Solar White 110# card base and colored the mug with Copics. I then decided to complete my card by framing the image and sentiment by embossing with a Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles die. I just really love the look of it.

Have A Sweet Birthday

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS. Our Code Word for ATCAS Challenge #186 is BERRY. It's my turn as our hostess.

I am so in love with THIS card created by Michele Ferguson of I Card Everyone. I've CASed it before, I've CASed it here, and I am sure I will CASe it again! To create my card, I used the strawberries image from Power Poppy's Cherries and Berries Digital Stamp Set, colored it with Copics, die cut it with Pinkfresh Studio Braided Tag dies and added a piece of deep red ribbon that matched the strawberries beautifully. The sentiment is from the Pinkfresh Studio design in the Stamping Village Collaboration Happy Birthday Stamp Set.  I popped up the die cut and mounted it on Neenah Solar White 110# card stock.

Every Shade Of Happy

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS. Our Code Word for ATCAS Challenge #185 is RAINBOW. Ceal is our hostess.

We have a wonderful Guest Designer with us for this challenge - Hannelie.  Desert Diva Hannelie's artistry always takes my breath away. Do treat yourself to a stroll through her blog for some incredible inspiration.

To create my card, I used Gina K's Be The Rainbow set for my image and sentiment. I colored the rainbow with Stampin' Up Stampin' Write Markers that I have owned for more years than I can remember. It is amazing to me that they are still as fresh as ever. I colored and stamped each arc several times directly on to the Neenah Solar White 110# card base using my MISTI to get full coverage. I added a sentiment from the same set using VersaFine Onyx Black ink, and my card was complete.

Please head on over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog, take a look at the wonderful creations that Hannelie and the Design Team have created for your inspiration, and make something to share in the gallery. Challenge winner will be offered a Guest Designer spot for a future challenge. Happy crafting!

You Are Full Of Magic

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS. Our Code Word for ATCAS Challenge #183 is SILHOUETTE. Vicki is our hostess!

We have a wonderful Guest Designer with us for this challenge - Jane Taylor of Purplejet Loves Crafts. Jane is a very talented and prolific paper crafter. Her style is largely CAS, and her designs are amazing. She dabbles in all sorts of other crafts as well. Treat yourself to a stroll through her blog for a real treat.

I am thrilled with this card that I made for a dear friend who is always comforted by Mary Poppins when she needs a lift. God knows, we all need a lift these days from all that is happening in this world and on so many levels.

To create my card, I stamped the moon with all three images from Altenew's To The Moon with PTI Soft Stone and Altenew Evening Gray and Morning Frost inks. I then die cut it with the smaller circle die from the matching die set. I die cut the black panel with the moon die and inlaid the die cut moon. I used a sponge dauber to create the halo effect of the moon with Picket Fence Distress ink. I then stenciled Mary Poppins from JB Cookie Cutters with VersaFine Black Onyx ink. I mixed some glitter powder with embossing paste and applied it to the card base using Tim Holtz's Speckles Stencil. Finally, I stamped a sentiment from Gray Muse's You Grow Girl and die cut it with a Pink and Main Sentiment Strip die and popped it up. I adhered fun foam to the balck panel and then adhered that panel to a while Neeneh Solar White 110# card base.

For my card, I stamped this adorable image from Picket Fence Studios' Stand In The Sunshine, colored it with Copics and die cut it with the matching dies. The sentiment from SSS CZ Design Simple Sentiments 02 is heat embossed, die cut with a Pink & Main Sentiment Strip die, and popped up with foam tape.
