Hello there friends! Our new release images are so sweet and perfect for any baby projects you may have! Totally wish I had these when my daughter was born! But I can still use these cuties for my scrapbooking projects and they are good sized for making your own pocket scrapbooking cards.
Let me just say that this image was not named after anyone I know. I just thought that since she was being born out of a cherry blossom, I wanted to call her Sakura.
I have to say, that I'm a little partial to our first image from this release. My family has a lot of girls. I have one sister (and one brother), I have a daughter, my brother has two daughters and his wife has two sisters, my sister has a sister in law and two nieces! So let's just say we don't have too many males in our family. You get the picture right? OK on to the project!
I decided to revisit the good old gatefold card. I keep forgetting about this style card and thought it was a good layout for my project. Since I wanted the card to be super girly, I selected some very light pink washi paper by
Hanko Designs. I love this paper! I guess pastels always remind me of babies.
After I colored and cut up Sakura-chan, I die cut a sakura from my Lifestyle Crafts nesting dies. And that's prety much it! Easy peasy!
Here's a closer look at Sakura-chan.
This image reminds me of my daughter's baby luau. For our centerpieces, my Aunty Jan made these cute Japanese girls from glass vases, styrofoam balls, and washi paper! Kinda reminds me of Sakura-chan now that I look at it.
Do you want a chance to win Sakura-chan? If so, here's what you have to do:
1) leave a comment on THIS POST by 11:59pm HST on 05/31/14; and
2) tell me what kind of project you would use this image on!
Check back tomorrow for another intro..
