Make 'n Take This Saturday!

It's been a couple of days since I've been home and I'm still recovering from last week's round of make 'n takes on Oahu!  I can't tell you how much fun it was to meet stampers from around the island and see the excitement of our new release.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by and said hello or participated in the make 'n take.  My fear was that no one would come to my table, but I was pleasantly surprised at the outpouring of love from everyone.  I am truly humbled by the response and appreciate everyone's positive feedback.  I also wanted to thank all of the stores that hosted the make 'n takes!

So, I didn't forget my Hilo stampers!  Thank you for being so patient while I got through the Oahu rounds.  This Saturday, I'll be at Island Scrapbooking from 10am-12pm for more free make 'n takes.  We will be making this gift card holder....

Hope to see you there!

Last Oahu Make 'n Take

Wow!  My Oahu Make 'n Take tour will be almost over by the time you read this post.  My last stop on the "tour" is Stamps and Memories!  Please join me at Stamps and Memories between 11am-1pm for a free make 'n take.  Today we will be making this mini bag using the new Tim Holtz die.  This cute bag is the perfect size for party favors or small treats.  Decorated this one using a Hero Arts background stamp, then adding Perfect Pearls over it to create the background.  Then colored and cut out Mariko and adhered her to the bag.

Here's a closer look at Mariko!

Just wanted to give a shout out to my dim sum gang Kimmie, Mrs. Lum, and Aunty Jan for your help with these make 'n takes!  Thanks for stopping by to keep me company!

And thank you to all of our retailers who hosted our make 'n takes!

It's Release Day!

Happy Birthday To Us!  Yay!  We made it to our first birthday and Release #8!   Just wanted to thank all of our guest design team members for coming back to help us out along with our new friends Linda & Cami for joining us on this journey.  You guys are the best!

Have one last project to share with you today....  Its another card from Aunty Jan that I thought was pretty neat.  She added a piece of cardstock to hold the gift card and cut slits on either side so she could insert a ribbon.  The ribbon goes around to the back of the card but the bow is tied on the inside of the card.

I thought the added circles were pretty cool too since it matched the packaging on the gift.  Leave it to Aunty to figure out how to coordinate the card to the image.  Here's the inside of the card when you open it up.

Well, thank you all for joining us for this release! We know we are still here because of all of you out there, so a big mahalo and arigato to all of you Sister Stamps fans.  If you are on Oahu this coming week, please stop by one of the make 'n takes and say hi!  And a BIG Arigato to our guest DT Sisters who came back to help us celebrate!  Please check out their projects today and give them some love!  Your next stop is Debi's blog... Enjoy!

Aunty Jan sent me some Release #8 samples that I wanted to share with you..  The sample I have to share today features Mariko on a tag pocket card.   As you can see, the tag slips into the pocket ever so nicely.  She used a plum blossom stamp by Hanko Designs for the background on the face of the pocket and the tag.  She must've used the masking technique on Mariko in order to get the background around her so nicely.

The Just a Little Something Sentiment is by Amuse Rubber Stamps.  She even added some stickles over the sentiment to make it glisten.

OK I just gotta point out the trim on the tag.  I love how she combined sheer ribbon with gold ribbon and then baker's twine to keep it neat.  Love that- gotta remember to do that next time I make tags.

Thanks Aunty for the samples!  I'll be sharing more with you soon!  Now it's time to check out Debi's blog to see her Release #8 projects.

Meet Mariko!

Welcome to our first Introductory Post for our special Release #8!  As I already shared with you, Release #8 marks our 1 year birthday celebration!  Woo Hoo!  Still can't believe it's been a whole year already.

So, for those of you who follow my personal blog, you may have seen this little girl pop up here and there along the way... Meet Mariko!  She's comes bearing gifts.. and what's a birthday without gifts?  She was originally supposed to be a Christmas release stamp since she is holding a gift, but since gift giving occurs year round, we thought it was more fitting to release her during our birthday party!

Mariko is named after my CBFF (Crafty BFF) Debi!  Debi has helped me from before day 1 of Sister Stamps and has been my sounding board, voice of reason, and source of inspiration for the past couple of years now.  She really is more than a CBFF, she's my stamping sister!!  How fitting then to name this image after her.  When I was thinking of a name, I immediately thought of her since she is so giving and sweet, just like this image.

I was inspired by this tutorial on one of our retailer's sites.. All That Scraps!  This easy peasy gift card holder was the perfect project for all of the store samples.  All you have to do is score here, score there, fold, tape and you're done!  This will be one of the projects we will be making at some of the make 'n takes on Oahu next month.

And here's some of the samples I made for the retail and online stores.  Love me all of those Doodlebug papers!  Since they are 2-sided, it takes the guest work out of worrying if the inside will coordinate with the outside.

So now for the fun part... Wanna chance to win Mariko?  Here's all you have to do:
1)  Leave a comment on THIS POST by June 30, 2012 11:59pm HST.
2)  Become a follower on this blog if you are not already.  Please follow publicly so that we can verify.
3)  Tell me about your favorite birthday gift!  I can't wait to hear...

And stop by this whole week for more Release #8 fun!
