Happy EVERYTHING!

BUT WAIT!
THERE'S MORE!

This year, the celebration of
Easter, Passover and Ramadan
all overlap with each other!

It's a HOLIDAY CONVERGENCE!

BUT WAIT!
THERE'S EVEN MORE!

Today, April 9th, is also
National Unicorn Day!

Well, I can't very well end this post
on THAT unappetizing note, can I?

So let's just switch back to Easter and
hop down the bunny trail
with some fun memes featuring
alcohol in one way or another.

Enjoy your SPECIAL DAY today,
everyone, no matter what it is!

Do You Know What Day It Is Today?

Don't be sad, little girl!
Time to cheer up, because today is . . .

Who knew such a date existed?
But it does, and today's the day!

How can people say unicorns aren't real?

If unicorns aren't real, then who is
snow-blowing this driveway?

Everyone loves unicorns,
and quite rightly so.

Try to marry one, if you can!

Or become one yourself!

It will always be an improvement!

So don't let the pandemic get you down --

We will soon be having
unicorn parties again!

See you there!

Running Off With The Unicorns

Yes, I know I said I'd be back to
regularly-scheduled blogging in August.

But I'm not ready to end
my blogging break yet!

So I'm running off with the unicorns
for another month!

This is how I'll be safely spending
my time here at home --

➤ Drinking more coffee.

➤ Eating healthy, nutritious meals.

➤ Baking more goodies.

(Speaking of baking, this is where
sprinkles come from, you know.)

➤ Watching more TV.

➤ Continuing to read more actual books!

➤ Enjoying summer's sunshine and warmth!

(Thanks, Mitchell of Moving With Mitchell,
for letting me use your fab photo!)

➤ Basking in glorious sunsets while
sitting on my balcony.

(Yes, I know that technically this isn't
a unicorn cut-out, but it SHOULD BE!)

No need to fear for me,
or wonder where I am,
or what I'm doing,
or put up "Lost" posters to find me . . . .

HRH and I
will be
just fine!

But I intend to pop back in
every Wednesday or so
with a new post just to
keep from getting rusty!

Hardcore Unicorn Sweetness

We ALL know WHY there are
NO unicorns in the world, DON'T we?

But that's FAKE NEWS, my friends.
Here's what REALLY happened.

It's undeniably true that everything
UNICORN FLAVOURED is
SWEET and DELICIOUS.

Whether it's for KIDS . . .

. . . or for ADULTS.

But BE CAREFUL how you indulge!

Alas, unicorns' inherent sweetness and naivety
can have some DRAWBACKS
when operating in the REAL WORLD.

And speaking of Steven . . .

It was Steven of Sooooo This is Me who
sent me the following unicorn video.

But I must WARN you!

IT'S TOOTH-ACHINGLY SWEET!

WATCH AT YOUR OWN "NEW AGE-Y" RISK!

Thanks, Steven, you sweetly sarcastic little rainbow, you!

Have You Hugged Your Unicorn Today?

While re-indexing old posts, it has come to my attention that I have not blogged about unicorns since 2013 -- SIX YEARS AGO!

How can this be?

I must jump in my UNICORN CAR and REMEDY the situation at once.

Unicorns get such a BAD RAP in our society. Their CUTENESS prevents them from ever being taken SERIOUSLY.

Plus, unicorns are CONSTANTLY HARASSED by narwhals and their lawyers. It's a VENDETTA, I tellz ya!

And yet, WHO AMONG US does not love unicorns? The whimsy and charm of unicorns can bring a smile even to the most HARDENED of HEARTS.

So just let me end on a POETIC NOTE --

Actually, more than a whole BAGFUL of them!

SPARKLE ON!

Serious Unicorns

The mythical unicorn is one of Scotland's official symbols. When the Crown of England and the Crown of Scotland were merged into a single British monarchy by the Acts of Union in 1707, the coat of arms for the newly formed Great Britain featured the English lion and the Scottish unicorn in equally supportive roles.

Our Canadian coat of arms features the same lion and unicorn imagery, since Britain's monarch is also the Canadian head of state.

The imposing main entrance of Canada's parliament buildings in Ottawa is flanked by larger-than-life statues of the heraldic lion and unicorn:

I suppose the lion is roaring and the unicorn is . . . whinnying? I don't know what sound unicorns are traditionally supposed to make but something horse-like would seem to be most likely.

These serious unicorns represent purity of heart, freedom and the ancient right of kings. They do not fart rainbows and glitter like today's silly unicorns. Sometimes it's important to remember their original dignity and symbolism.
