Fairy Wings!

Hello again! My post today is my entry for the Polkadoodles & Studio12 challenge, which this week was to use an Angelberry digi stamp, which Nikky was very kindly giving away to those who didn't already have one! I received the lovely Angelberry Hugs image, which I do think is extremely cute!

(Ed has been busy making me a watermark for my pictures, just in case!)

I coloured the image using Promarkers and my red Graph'Its - I was never happy with the red Promarkers I had, so I bought red Graph'Its recently and I'm more satisfied with them for sure. I got a set of three and the colours do go together nicely. Need to work on my blending more though! The paper is one I got at the NEC last year, I couldn't find the pad so not sure of the brand now... The letter stamps are fom Paperchase.

Anyway, thanks for visiting today!

Let's give this blog thing another go...

Well it's been nearly a year since I posted here. Blogging got to be a bit of a chore for me I think. I never stopped making things, though, so I could probably queue up a year's worth of posts now (don't worry, I'm not going to!)

Anyway, my reason for reviving the old blog is, of course, a challenge! This is my entry for the Graph'It Colour Challenge, which is to colour something white!

I found these two blue Flexmarkers (Celestial Blue & Glacier Blue) in my basket today and thought, why don't I ever use these? I remembered why when I couldn't find any papers in the same shade! So that's why she is directly on the Kraft. I coloured her dress blue-white, and her string of paper dolls brown-white. I stencilled a bit of VersaMark for her to stand on and added white embossing power. It looks a bit like snow, which wasn't what I intended but might be a handy effect for Christmas...

Materials:
Kraft card blank
Promarkers: Satin, Blush, Dusky Pink, Oatmeal, Burnt Orange, Terracotta, Henna, Walnut, Morning Mist, Cobalt Blue
Flexmarkers: Celestial Blue, Glacier Blue
Sentiment printed from the computer - I think the font is called Tuna & Hotdogs on Rye...

Thanks for visiting!

New baby

Hi everyone! Our challenge at Craft Punked this week has a "New Baby" theme. The prize is something new for us - a chance to join our DT for a week! I'm interested to see how this works out!

Here's my card for this week:

This is actually a card I made for my mum to give to some friends of hers who just became grandparents. The digi is from Pink Petticoat, coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment in black was a magazine freebie and the other one I made on the computer to personalise it a bit. Papers and buttons are from Papermania capsule collections. I had to add the little glittered star to cover a mark on the image :) - I can't print digis at the moment, printer dramas but luckily I had this one already printed.

Anyway that's about it from me, hope you will join us at Craft Punked this week!

Monochrome

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't blogged for a while. I got a bit disillusioned with the whole blogging thing. But anyway, I was inspired by this week's Passion for Promarkers challenge  - Monochrome with an unusual hair colour - so here's my entry!

I would love to have turquoise hair wouldn't you?! I coloured my image with Cool Greys 1, 3, and 5, and I used Aquamarine (Flexmarker), Turquoise and Marine for the hair. The background is linen card stamped with a Hobbycraft background in Archival ink, then sprayed with Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions; I sprayed the ribbon with it too. The resin flower is one I bought at Michael's when I was in Canada and I added a bit of glitter glue as an afterthought really.

Anyway thanks for visiting today! I'm off out now to buy some organisational bits and bobs for my craft room.

Movie time!

Hi everyone! This week at Craft Punked our challenge theme is "At the Movies" and we're sponsored by the Octopode Factory - yay! Here's my card:

This is Frankie Boy, designed by our lovely sponsor. I've coloured him with Promarkers. The background paper started life on the Polkadoodles Pen & Paper Circle 3 CD and I distressed it with some Pumice Stone Distress Ink, lots around the edges with foam and then some more all over with my ink duster brush (which reminds me very much of the old fashioned shaving brush my dad used to use!) The words were printed on my computer. The whole thing looks very black/grey in the photo but I can assure you than in real life Frankie is a nauseating shade of green and the patterned paper matches!

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you will drop by & join us at Craft Punked this week!

Olympics!

Hi everyone! If you aren't excited about the Olympics yet, maybe this will help - an Olympic theme challenge at Craft Punked! We want to see anything & everything inspired by the Olympic Games.

This cute digi is from Little Musings. I've coloured him with Promarkers. The papers and tag are American Crafts freebies from quite recently. I cut the n and the o with my Xcut alphabet die but I had to cut the 1 by hand which is why it's a bit weird looking! I edged everything with dark brown ink.

Thanks for visiting today and hope you will join us at Craft Punked this week!

Summertime!

Hi everyone! Thanks for coming by. This week at Craft Punked our challenge is themed around Summertime. Hopefully we will get some summer here in England soon...

This is the kind of thing I would do in summer if I didn't hate dirt and bugs... I would need a chair in this scene! The digi is by Slieke, coloured with Promarkers. The paper is a My Mind's Eye one I got in Canada. I punched some lace from Bazzil card and added a ribbon I think was from Christmas! The sentiment is handwritten because when I made this card, my printer was broken and I didn't have an appropriate sentiment. I must have written Happy Retirement about 50 times before I got one I liked. Still not sure about it actually!

Hope you will be inspired to join in with this week's challenge, we'd love to see you!
