Thank you to Terri

I won!  I won!  Thank you Terri!

Terri Gordon had a wonderful giveaway over at her lovely blog and I was the winning number.

nov26-10130

She wrapped the gift so carefully and included a beautiful card with it.

nov26-10167

I carefully unwrapped the pink paper to find a beautiful teacup set.

nov26-10171

I had made the comment over at Terri’s that I had never even seen a two handled teacup.

nov26-10147

And then I won it.

nov26-10190

How cool is that?

nov26-10161

As you can see I adore pink roses.

nov26-10165

So it found a perfect home.

nov26-10184

Again I want to thank Terri Gordon for her generosity and her exquisite taste.

Teacup Tuesday with Martha and Terri

I am happy to be participating in Martha and Terri’s “Tea Cup Tuesday”!

nov21-2 037
This week I am showing a teacup in my favorite combination of blue and white.

nov21-2 022

This teacup was made in England by the Burleigh Company.

nov21-2 039

This is Burleigh's most famous pattern and is called  “Blue Calico”.

nov21-2 021

This rich cobalt blue pattern has been produced for over 100 years.

nov21-2 076

I found this absolutely lovely variety pack of honey-clover stirrers.

It looks like a jewel with the sunshine streaming through it.

nov21-2 103
I knew I would have so much fun taking pictures of them for you.

nov21-2 107

And I did.

nov21-2 160

I can’t wait to show you the other shapes.

nov21-2 153

They are all just divine.

nov21-2 115
I hope your week is going well.

nov21-2 110

I know everyone is staying busy.

nov21-2 149

Take a deep breath, relax for a moment, and feel the soft rose petals falling into your life from heaven above.

Rosebud Teacup

I am happy to be participating Martha’s and Terri’s “Tea Cup Tuesday” No. 36!

This is my vintage “Rosebud - Green” teacup produced in England between 1951 to 1952.

110620100005

I know this exact time frame by looking at the mark on the bottom of the teacup.

.
stamp_rwg1

The round back-stamp shows Royal Winton, Grimwades, Made in England and the letter “A”.

110620100007

How the letter “A” is displayed is the clue letting me know when this teacup was produced in England.

110620100006

In 1941 all potteries were required to be marked with the grade of it’s china.
It is at that time Royal Winton began adding the letter “A” to it’s pottery.

110620100004

Royal Winton did not include this letter “A” in it’s script back-stamp between 1941 to 1951.

110620100009

In 1951 Royal Winton created their new script back-stamp which included the letter “A”.

110620100008

This new back-stamp continued until 1952.   My teacup shows the letter “A” as part of the script back-stamp.

110620100003

Sometime in 1952 the producers of pottery were no longer required to display the grade.

    November Roses

It may be November, but here in the Desert Southwest  my roses are still blooming!

I was rather surprised on how many there were.

    11062010 152

We had a strong hail storm here a few weeks ago and needless to say, not only my car, but the roses got a beating.

    11062010 039

The hail stripped every rose and bloom from it’s branch.

    11062010 040

    Every branch was bare.

    11062010 192

    Suddenly many buds began appearing.

    11062010 147

And today I gathered a beautiful rose bouquet made up of many shades of pink.

    11062010 132

The Lord must have known I needed some roses.

    They smell heavenly.
