Smart Trash Bin with Solar Cell is a device which can help the people to increase their awareness... more Smart Trash Bin with Solar Cell is a device which can help the people to increase their awareness about environmental hygiene. With an automatic lid and volume level indicators, people do not need to touch the lid to open it and check whether the bin is already full or not . This smart trash bin will send alerts when they are getting full. I f the first ultrasonic sensor detected an object, the automatic lid will be open, while the second ultrasonic sensor detect inside of the trash bin whether it is already half full, half-quarter full or totally full to trigger the indicator to start working. The automatic lid and volume level indicators will be implemented by using Arduino UNO program. And due to the eco-friendly consideration, this device use s a solar cell to produce power to activate it. Masalah tersebut dapat dikurangi jika seseorang mau membawa botol minum (tumbler) sendiri. Namun, dibutuhkan mesin penjual air mineral untuk mengisi ulang tumbler. Paper ini menjelaskan disain dan implementasi prototipe mesin penjual air mineral otomatis, praktis, dan ekonomis berbasis Arduino Mega 2560 dan RFID-RC522. Pengujian terhadap prototipe ini dilakukan dalam tiga tahap: (1) pengujian jarak baca antara kartu RFID dengan RFID reader, (2) pengujian pada kondisi ideal, dan (3) pengujian pada kondisi tidak ideal. Dari pengujian pertama disimpulkan bahwa RFID-RC522 dapat melakukan pembacaan optimal pada jarak 35 mm. Dari hasil pengujian kedua diperoleh nilai akurasi (keakuratan) pada saat pengisian air sebesar 82%. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan sebuah kotak pembersih tangan otomatis yang dapat membaca suhu tubuh menggunakan sensor temperature MLX90614 dikombinasikan dengan kunci pintu solenoid, untuk menjaga seseorang yang ingin memasuki ruangan tertentu harus membersihkan tangan dan memiliki suhu di bawah batas. This paper proposes the implementation of IoT-based agriculture monitoring with audio growth (son... more This paper proposes the implementation of IoT-based agriculture monitoring with audio growth (sonic bloom) to optimize the growth of plants and harvest. Sonic bloom is a technology that combines high-frequency sound waves from living things, nature or music, and organic nutrients, which aims to make plants grow more optimally so that they can increase productivity. The method's main advantage is implementing an innovative IoT monitoring hybrid with audio growth systems to boost the plantation growth and maximize the yield. Our experiment in 10 planters using chilies has proven the proposed procedure. This work is backed up with literature studies of the audio growth (sonic bloom) in IoT technologies. In addition, four parameters were measured through different sensors such as light sensors, temperature, humidity, and soil moisture to validate our findings. It was found that the proposed method can achieve significant results against the comparison in terms of new sprouts for the harvest. At the end of the monitoring period, the total average of new chili sprouts harvested from the proposed method is up to 31.25% higher than the conventional methods.

Also, many methods and analysis are used to solve the problem. One of the example is traffic load. As the vital point of telecommunication industry, traffic load is must be considered well. So, there will be less blocking probability for each of subscriber. This problem is also applied for two famous communication system, PLMN and PSTN. Where PLMN is a wireless network and PSTN is wired network. The literature study has been done. All the result has been presented below. In conclusion, PSTN blocking probability is determined by number of available trunks. On the other hand, PLMN has two type of blocking probability, first call blocking and hand over blocking. In addition, both PLMN and PSTN has another reason of blocking which happen when the targetted subscriber does not answered a call. Moreover, the interconnecting and exchange connection PLMN and PSTN is similiar.

The prototype consists of the lamp as the load integrated with Arduino UNO as the microcontroller with GSM module and buzzer. The microcontroller will detect and deduce the type of the fault happened in the installation and will send the data of the fault through the GSM module. GSM module then transmits the data to the mobile phone and let the user aware of the fault. Also, there will be buzzer as the warning system by producing high pitch sound that signalizes the fault that need immediate handling or emergency. The data of both faults will be sent as Short Message Service (SMS) to the user. The SMS will give the user the type of fault either emergency or need of maintenance, happened in the installation.

Prototype of Postpaid Electricity and Water Usage Monitoring System

This paper presents a prototype design and implementation of home users' postpaid electricity... more This paper presents a prototype design and implementation of home users' postpaid electricity and water usage monitoring system. The system design is consisted of four main components such as Arduino UNO microcontroller and Bluetooth module, current and water flow sensors, RGB LED, and alarm buzzer. Current and water flow sensors will measure the current and water flow driven in installation. Measurement data will be sent to Arduino UNO as microcontroller. Arduino microcontroller will be reading and processing the data. If the current and water usage exceeds the predetermined limits, then microcontroller through Bluetooth module will trigger the RGB LED to light up and then buzzer will sound as a warning to notify users. Three different situations have been applied to test the device performance. The first two is for each electricity and water usage limits. And the third is when both utilities are combined simultaneously. Testing results show that for the first two, acceptable limits of electricity and water usage are at highest points (900 W and 3 L). But, for the third is varied according to the combination between electricity and water usage limits. These results showed that the prototype can be used as an energy monitoring system to warn and notify home users from monthly overdue consumption fees of postpaid electricity and water usage. But, this prototype still needs much improvements to be ready applied as a commercial device.

Simulation Analysis of Partial Transmit Sequence on Palm Date Leaf Clipping for PAPR Value Reduction

FFT, as the key concept in the OFDM system, produces a high PAPR value. Several techniques can be... more FFT, as the key concept in the OFDM system, produces a high PAPR value. Several techniques can be implemented to reduce it, such as the Palm Date Leaf clipping and the Partial Transmit Sequence. Previous researchers have evaluated each technique individually. This paper proposes to evaluate the PAPR value as the effect of combining the Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) with the Palm Date Leaf (PDL) clipping technique. The evaluation is done with several modulation techniques, such as QPSK, 8-PSK, 16-PSK, 8-QAM, and 16-QAM. Since low PAPR performance is not advantageous if the signal’s BER value worsens, thus the evaluation also considers the BER performance. In this case, the Authors focus on the BER performance over the AWGN channel. The result shows that in all of the scenarios, the PTS technique could improve the signal’s BER and PAPR performance for low CR values such as 5 dB and 7 dB. Additionally, for higher CR values such as 10 dB and 20 dB, the BER performance is similar to the normal OFDM signal. Even so, it provides a consistent PAPR reduction of approximately 3 dB. Do note that the PAPR is evaluated at CCDF of 10−3. This way, the PTS technique always provides an improvement in signal BER performance. As for the PAPR performance, the PTS technique can improve all cases except for 8-QAM and 16-QAM signals with clipping technique at low clipping ratio such as 5 dB. However, the PTS technique still requires Side Information (SI), and it has high computational complexity.

Sonic bloom is a technology that combines high-frequency sound waves from living things, nature or music, and organic nutrients, which aims to make plants grow more optimally so that they can increase productivity. The method's main advantage is implementing an innovative IoT monitoring hybrid with audio growth systems to boost the plantation growth and maximize the yield. Our experiment in 10 planters using chilies has proven the proposed procedure. This work is backed up with literature studies of the audio growth (sonic bloom) in IoT technologies. In addition, four parameters were measured through different sensors such as light sensors, temperature, humidity, and soil moisture to validate our findings. It was found that the proposed method can achieve significant results against the comparison in terms of new sprouts for the harvest. At the end of the monitoring period, the total average of new chili sprouts harvested from the proposed method is up to 31.25% higher than the conventional methods.

In conclusion, PSTN blocking probability is determined by number of available trunks. On the other hand, PLMN has two type of blocking probability, first call blocking and hand over blocking. In addition, both PLMN and PSTN has another reason of blocking which happen when the targetted subscriber does not answered a call. The prototype consists of the lamp as the load integrated with Arduino UNO as the microcontroller with GSM module and buzzer. The microcontroller will detect and deduce the type of the fault happened in the installation and will send the data of the fault through the GSM module. GSM module then transmits the data to the mobile phone and let the user aware of the fault. Also, there will be buzzer as the warning system by producing high pitch sound that signalizes the fault that need immediate handling or emergency. Prototype of Postpaid Electricity and Water Usage Monitoring System

This paper presents a prototype design and implementation of home users' postpaid electricity... more This paper presents a prototype design and implementation of home users' postpaid electricity and water usage monitoring system. The system design is consisted of four main components such as Arduino UNO microcontroller and Bluetooth module, current and water flow sensors, RGB LED, and alarm buzzer. Current and water flow sensors will measure the current and water flow driven in installation. Measurement data will be sent to Arduino UNO as microcontroller. Arduino microcontroller will be reading and processing the data. If the current and water usage exceeds the predetermined limits, then microcontroller through Bluetooth module will trigger the RGB LED to light up and then buzzer will sound as a warning to notify users. Three different situations have been applied to test the device performance. The first two is for each electricity and water usage limits. And the third is when both utilities are combined simultaneously. Testing results show that for the first two, acceptable limits of electricity and water usage are at highest points (900 W and 3 L). But, for the third is varied according to the combination between electricity and water usage limits. These results showed that the prototype can be used as an energy monitoring system to warn and notify home users from monthly overdue consumption fees of postpaid electricity and water usage. But, this prototype still needs much improvements to be ready applied as a commercial device.

Simulation Analysis of Partial Transmit Sequence on Palm Date Leaf Clipping for PAPR Value Reduction

Several techniques can be implemented to reduce it, such as the Palm Date Leaf clipping and the Partial Transmit Sequence. Previous researchers have evaluated each technique individually. This paper proposes to evaluate the PAPR value as the effect of combining the Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) with the Palm Date Leaf (PDL) clipping technique. The evaluation is done with several modulation techniques, such as QPSK, 8-PSK, 16-PSK, 8-QAM, and 16-QAM. Since low PAPR performance is not advantageous if the signal’s BER value worsens, thus the evaluation also considers the BER performance. In this case, the Authors focus on the BER performance over the AWGN channel. The result shows that in all of the scenarios, the PTS technique could improve the signal’s BER and PAPR performance for low CR values such as 5 dB and 7 dB. Additionally, for higher CR values such as 10 dB and 20 dB, the BER performance is similar to the normal OFDM signal. Even so, it provides a consistent PAPR reduction of approximately 3 dB. Do note that the PAPR is evaluated at CCDF of 10−3. This way, the PTS technique always provides an improvement in signal BER performance. As for the PAPR performance, the PTS technique can improve all cases except for 8-QAM and 16-QAM signals with clipping technique at low clipping ratio such as 5 dB. However, the PTS technique still requires Side Information (SI), and it has high computational complexity.
