Joni Welman Simatupang (IEEE M'14 - SM'19; OSA M'19) received B.Eng (ST) in Electrical Engineering from University of Indonesia (UI) in 2003, M.Sc.Eng and Ph.D in 2009 and 2014, respectively from the Electronic and Computer Engineering Department of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST). Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering Study Program of Faculty of Engineering, President University. Formerly, he served as the Director of Research Institute and Community Service (Aug 2016-Aug 2017) and Head of Study Program in Electrical Engineering (Sept 2017-March 2018) of President University, Cikarang, West Java, Indonesia. His current research interests are Bidirectional Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network (WDM-PON), Semiconductor Lasers Optoelectronics, Biophotonics, Fiber Optic Sensors (FOS), Power Electronics, and Signal Processing. Sugity Creatives. Kebutuhan ini disebabkan oleh berbagai pekerjaan repetitif, tidak efisien, dan relatif lama. Sesuai pengamatan, pengecekan membutuhkan waktu 45 detik, validasi data manual selama 15 detik dan pencatatan di kertas selama 60 detik. Sehingga total proses adalah 120 detik. Di artikel ini, kami mengusulkan sebuah prototipe menggunakan Konica Minolta CR400 chromameter. Prototipe ini terdiri dari dua komponen utama yaitu Raspberry Pi-4 sebagai pengontrol dan penyimpan data, dan sensor spektrometri AS7341 untuk mengukur spektrum bumper setelah selesai dilakukan pengecatan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, prototipe mampu mereduksi waktu inspeksi kualitas dari 120 detik menjadi 40 detik, termasuk pengukuran, validasi warna, dan juga pencatatan di spreadsheet. Validasi juga memiliki akurasi 100% sesuai dengan hasil validasi chromameter CR400 setelah prototipe dikalibrasi dengan sampel bagus dan reject. Namun, risiko kesalahan manusia selama perekaman data menyebabkan kesalahan validasi mungkin tidak dapat dihindari.

Conveyors are used by many factories in the industrial sector as tools to move some materials thr... more Conveyors are used by many factories in the industrial sector as tools to move some materials through various processes. Currently, it is necessary to have a device which is connected to a conveyor using a digital system. In this study, a conveyor is designed to use a webcam with a deep learning image classification system, Firebase real-time database, and a web-based dashboard. The webcam is used to capture and classify objects based on shape, color, and status, as well as counting objects that run on the conveyor. Firebase real-time database will receive and store data from the webcam system in real-time so that the data can be displayed on the dashboard. The dashboard used is a website-based design using two web development systems: front-end and back-end. Data displayed on the dashboard uses a realtime data table which is capable of displaying real-time data. Testing is conducted to analyze the performance of the full prototype. Testing methods used are One-by-one Object Test and Sequential Object Test, with total of 20 tests. One-by-one Object test is conducted five times, with a total of 168 data and a total time of 12 minutes and 15 seconds. Meanwhile, Sequential Object test is conducted 15 times, with a total of 546 data and a total time of 7 minutes and 19 seconds. Based on the observations of functional dashboard test, in fact all features and buttons on the dashboard are functioned well.

In industrial application on machine manufacturer multinational company, especially on the convey... more In industrial application on machine manufacturer multinational company, especially on the conveyor manufacturing company, before delivering the conveyor to overseas customer, there are some regulations need to be complied to ensure the product quality is always good. The system to ensure the product quality before delivery is named by Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). The purpose of doing this is to gain the trust and satisfaction of the buyer company by ensuring the quality before delivery. To ensure the product quality, this device was designed following the customer check sheet and requirement by giving them reliable data of the load current on each line of the motor and the motor temperature. This device is consisting of WEMOS D1 mini as the main controller and an IoT device, thermocouple type K as a temperature sensor, MAX6675 as the driver of the thermocouple, SCT-013-005 as a split-core current sensor, Arduino Nano as the second controller, and LCD 2004 as a real-time display. The IoT Application for Conveyor Motor Load Current and Temperature Monitoring Device is successfully created with the output is a table of data and the line chart which consists of Load current on each phase (U1, V1, W1), the motor temperature, and the limitation of each data so the user is easier to determine the commissioning result of the Factory Acceptance Test.

In this study, a low-cost quadrature triangle oscillator using a voltagecontrolled closed-loop du... more In this study, a low-cost quadrature triangle oscillator using a voltagecontrolled closed-loop dual operational amplifier (Op-Amp) architecture is proposed. Unlike other typical designs, this oscillator does not require any passive components. The use of an Op-Amp-based circuit is attractive for a triangle oscillator because it is more cost-effective than a microcontrollerbased solution. This is especially true for sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) DC-AC power conversion applications. The slew-rate restriction of an Op-Amp is a useful characteristic for producing a triangle waveform when seen from the perspective of wave shaping techniques. The MC4558 and the JRC4558D are two examples of dual Op-Amps that are evaluated, contrasted, and described in this article. At supply voltages of +7 V and-7 V, the suggested quadrature triangle oscillator that uses Op-Amps MC4558 and JRC4558D has the same oscillation frequency, which is 63 kHz, as demonstrated by simulation and experimental data. The frequency stability is estimated to be around 0.23%. In addition, the findings from the experiment demonstrate that the proposed oscillator is a practical solution for the SPWM DC-AC power conversion application.

Studi kasus yang dilakukan di PT XYZ yaitu nilai PIR di luar batas toleransi. Tujuan studi kasus ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh PIR terhadap GCB dengan nilai PIR yang tidak memenuhi kriteria, mengetahui elemen resistor diganti DISP dapat dijadikan solusi alternatif yang tepat, dan mengetahui nilai PIR dapat bertambah sehingga melebihi batas toleransi. Pengaruh nilai PIR sesuai kriteria dan melebihi kriteria memiliki perbedaan nilai berdasarkan simulasi PSCAD yaitu arus puncak dengan nilai PIR 417 Ω sebesar 1.1782kA, sedangkan nilai PIR 425 Ω sebesar 1.1589kA saat switch PIR menutup (0.0801s). Metode yang paling banyak digunakan adalah dengan mencuci barang. Prototipe yang mesin pencuci otomatis yang dibuat pada perancangan menggunakan komponen standar industri seperti PLC, HMI, proximity sensor untuk mengukur level ketinggian air, katup solenoida, dan juga pompa air. Prototipe tersebut kemudian diuji durabilitas dan stabilitasnya. Uji durabilitas dilakukan dengan pengoperasian mesin hingga 1400 cycle tanpa masalah, sementara untuk uji stabilitas dilakukan dengan mengoperasikan mesin hingga 200 cycle tanpa fault yang diakibatkan oleh sensor LOW yang menandakan kehabisan air. The research started by designing and creating the actual device that is ready to use and be implemented in the industry. The method provides the detail of the drying chamber, hot air dryer, and its mathematical model. The chosen hot air dryer is Suiden SHD-9F II and is operated on the factory default setting of auto-tuning mode. The performance evaluation studies the indicator performance of hot air dryer for the chosen size of drying chamber, the robustness of the system against fluctuating environmental air change rate, the ducting capacity, and the damper opening value estimation performance. The result of this system is working well at specification requirement of air change rate from 15 to 21 at 80% of its maximum capacity for error compensation and its already being successfully implemented.

This paper delivers a systematic review and a bibliometric survey analysis of Light-Fidelity (Li-... more This paper delivers a systematic review and a bibliometric survey analysis of Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi) indoor implementation in Next Generation Network (NGN). The main objective of this study is to design a communication network based on NGN-Li-Fi for the indoor implementation which aims to increase user Quality of Service (QoS). The main merits and contributions of this study are the thorough and detailed analysis of the review, both in literature surveys and bibliometric analysis, as well as the discussion of the implementation model challenges of Li-Fi in both indoor and outdoor environments. The issue articulated in an indoor communication network is the possibility of intermittent connectivity due to barriers caused by line-of-sight (LOS) between the LED transmitter and receiver, handover due to channel overlap, and other network reliability issues. To realize the full potential and significant benefits of the Next Generation Network, challenges in indoor communication such as loadbalancing and anticipating network congestion (traffic congestion) must be addressed. The main benefit of this study is the in-depth investigation of surveys in both selected critical literatures and bibliometric approach. This study seeks to comprehend the implications of Next Generation networks for indoor communication networks, particularly for visible light communication channels. Computing, which can alleviate computation burdens through its service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). To support growing content size and demand for ubiquitous computation, higher throughput becomes a de facto factor of Quality of Service. However, the physical layers, whether guided (wired) [2], [3] or unguided (wireless), can only transmit as far as their physical infrastructure allows. Network infrastructure is restricted to four types of delay, such as nodal processing, queueing delay, transmission delay, and propagation delay. These challenges encourage the industry to eliminate and shorten the delay through the implementation of Content Distribution Networks (CDN) and caching servers. Van Jacobson mentioned Content-Centric Networking (CCN) in his phenomenal Google Tech Talks in 2006 [4] where content is named based on the content itself and becomes an entity that is referred to by its content name. This concept transforms data transmission from previously location-based (through IP) to content-based (through naming). As a result, if a user wishes to download a file from a server using traditional IP, the user must first translate the request from a URL address to an IP address using Domain Name Server (DNS) and then forward it to the location of the content. In CCN, the request is no longer location-based, so any nodes that may cache the content can respond to this request. The delay restriction can be reduced by implementing CCN because many content requests can be responded to closer to the users, even closer to what CDN has to offer. However, this protocol has not alleviated the physical burden of the transmission bottleneck. The solution must cover the entire data, control, and physical layers. The fast-paced human communication and the variety of mobile communication can be broadly classified into three communication models: high-speed mobility, low-speed mobility, and static. High-speed mobility is an outdoor communication model, whereas low-speed mobility requires minimal handovers between indoor and outdoor conditions. Both of these conditions apply when a user communicates via wireless devices. Static connections occurred in normal scenarios in indoor environments, using both stationary PCs and wireless devices. Bending is one of the causes of signal transmission loss through the electromagnetic wave medium ... more Bending is one of the causes of signal transmission loss through the electromagnetic wave medium in the optical fiber. There are two types of bending lossess: microbending and macrobending. Both of them occur when the surface of the optical fiber cable experiences external pressure which causes deformation in the core of the optical fiber. Bending causes the loss of the optical transmission power affected by decreased light intensity, therefore the output ratio becomes degraded to the input one. This kind of condition assumed can be utilized for designing the optical fiber-based sensor by observing the response of the optical fiber against the external disturbances or stimulation. One example is the mechanical force that causes the deformation to the optical fiber. Based on the simulation result through the Matlab programming for macrobending loss, it was obtained that the highest power loss at 1.817 × 10-4 dB/mm on the 10 mm bending radius for the 1650 nm wavelength, and the lowest at 2.683 × 10-8 dB/mm on the 20 mm bending radius for the 1250 nm wavelength. Meanwhile for microbending loss, it obtained the largest change of transmission coefficient at 59.070% for 100 mm spacer length with applied mechanical force as large as 10 6 dynes or 10 N, and the smallest change at 0.591% for 10 mm spacer length with applied mechanical force as large as 10 5 dynes or 1 N. These significant changes of the measured values show that the optical fiber, by simulation, is pretty responsive against the external stimulations, either on the macroscopic scale or the microscopic scale. So that based on its responsiveness, we can assume that optical fiber is most likely possible to be utilized in various modern fiber optic sensor for many applied technologies.

This device is consisting of WEMOS D1 mini as the main controller and an IoT device, thermocouple type K as a temperature sensor, MAX6675 as the driver of the thermocouple, SCT-013-005 as a split-core current sensor, Arduino Nano as the second controller, and LCD 2004 as a real-time display. The IoT Application for Conveyor Motor Load Current and Temperature Monitoring Device is successfully created with the output is a table of data and the line chart which consists of Load current on each phase (U1, V1, W1), the motor temperature, and the limitation of each data so the user is easier to determine the commissioning result of the Factory Acceptance Test.

Unlike other typical designs, this oscillator does not require any passive components. The use of an Op-Amp-based circuit is attractive for a triangle oscillator because it is more cost-effective than a microcontrollerbased solution. This is especially true for sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) DC-AC power conversion applications. The slew-rate restriction of an Op-Amp is a useful characteristic for producing a triangle waveform when seen from the perspective of wave shaping techniques. The MC4558 and the JRC4558D are two examples of dual Op-Amps that are evaluated, contrasted, and described in this article. At supply voltages of +7 V and-7 V, the suggested quadrature triangle oscillator that uses Op-Amps MC4558 and JRC4558D has the same oscillation frequency, which is 63 kHz, as demonstrated by simulation and experimental data. The frequency stability is estimated to be around 0.23%. In addition, the findings from the experiment demonstrate that the proposed oscillator is a practical solution for the SPWM DC-AC power conversion application.

Tujuan studi kasus ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh PIR terhadap GCB dengan nilai PIR yang tidak memenuhi kriteria, mengetahui elemen resistor diganti DISP dapat dijadikan solusi alternatif yang tepat, dan mengetahui nilai PIR dapat bertambah sehingga melebihi batas toleransi. Pengaruh nilai PIR sesuai kriteria dan melebihi kriteria memiliki perbedaan nilai berdasarkan simulasi PSCAD yaitu arus puncak dengan nilai PIR 417 Ω sebesar 1.1782kA, sedangkan nilai PIR 425 Ω sebesar 1.1589kA saat switch PIR menutup (0.0801s). Prototipe tersebut kemudian diuji durabilitas dan stabilitasnya. Uji durabilitas dilakukan dengan pengoperasian mesin hingga 1400 cycle tanpa masalah, sementara untuk uji stabilitas dilakukan dengan mengoperasikan mesin hingga 200 cycle tanpa fault yang diakibatkan oleh sensor LOW yang menandakan kehabisan air. The research started by designing and creating the actual device that is ready to use and be implemented in the industry. The method provides the detail of the drying chamber, hot air dryer, and its mathematical model. The chosen hot air dryer is Suiden SHD-9F II and is operated on the factory default setting of auto-tuning mode. The performance evaluation studies the indicator performance of hot air dryer for the chosen size of drying chamber, the robustness of the system against fluctuating environmental air change rate, the ducting capacity, and the damper opening value estimation performance. The result of this system is working well at specification requirement of air change rate from 15 to 21 at 80% of its maximum capacity for error compensation and its already being successfully implemented.

The main objective of this study is to design a communication network based on NGN-Li-Fi for the indoor implementation which aims to increase user Quality of Service (QoS). The main merits and contributions of this study are the thorough and detailed analysis of the review, both in literature surveys and bibliometric analysis, as well as the discussion of the implementation model challenges of Li-Fi in both indoor and outdoor environments. The issue articulated in an indoor communication network is the possibility of intermittent connectivity due to barriers caused by line-of-sight (LOS) between the LED transmitter and receiver, handover due to channel overlap, and other network reliability issues. To realize the full potential and significant benefits of the Next Generation Network, challenges in indoor communication such as loadbalancing and anticipating network congestion (traffic congestion) must be addressed. The main benefit of this study is the in-depth investigation of surveys in both selected critical literatures and bibliometric approach. This study seeks to comprehend the implications of Next Generation networks for indoor communication networks, particularly for visible light communication channels. Computing, which can alleviate computation burdens through its service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). To support growing content size and demand for ubiquitous computation, higher throughput becomes a de facto factor of Quality of Service. However, the physical layers, whether guided (wired) [2], [3] or unguided (wireless), can only transmit as far as their physical infrastructure allows. Network infrastructure is restricted to four types of delay, such as nodal processing, queueing delay, transmission delay, and propagation delay. These challenges encourage the industry to eliminate and shorten the delay through the implementation of Content Distribution Networks (CDN) and caching servers. Van Jacobson mentioned Content-Centric Networking (CCN) in his phenomenal Google Tech Talks in 2006 [4] where content is named based on the content itself and becomes an entity that is referred to by its content name. This concept transforms data transmission from previously location-based (through IP) to content-based (through naming). As a result, if a user wishes to download a file from a server using traditional IP, the user must first translate the request from a URL address to an IP address using Domain Name Server (DNS) and then forward it to the location of the content. In CCN, the request is no longer location-based, so any nodes that may cache the content can respond to this request. The delay restriction can be reduced by implementing CCN because many content requests can be responded to closer to the users, even closer to what CDN has to offer. However, this protocol has not alleviated the physical burden of the transmission bottleneck. The solution must cover the entire data, control, and physical layers. The fast-paced human communication and the variety of mobile communication can be broadly classified into three communication models: high-speed mobility, low-speed mobility, and static. High-speed mobility is an outdoor communication model, whereas low-speed mobility requires minimal handovers between indoor and outdoor conditions. Both of these conditions apply when a user communicates via wireless devices. Static connections occurred in normal scenarios in indoor environments, using both stationary PCs and wireless devices. There are two types of bending lossess: microbending and macrobending. Both of them occur when the surface of the optical fiber cable experiences external pressure which causes deformation in the core of the optical fiber. Bending causes the loss of the optical transmission power affected by decreased light intensity, therefore the output ratio becomes degraded to the input one. This kind of condition assumed can be utilized for designing the optical fiber-based sensor by observing the response of the optical fiber against the external disturbances or stimulation. One example is the mechanical force that causes the deformation to the optical fiber. Based on the simulation result through the Matlab programming for macrobending loss, it was obtained that the highest power loss at 1.817 × 10-4 dB/mm on the 10 mm bending radius for the 1650 nm wavelength, and the lowest at 2.683 × 10-8 dB/mm on the 20 mm bending radius for the 1250 nm wavelength. Meanwhile for microbending loss, it obtained the largest change of transmission coefficient at 59.070% for 100 mm spacer length with applied mechanical force as large as 10 6 dynes or 10 N, and the smallest change at 0.591% for 10 mm spacer length with applied mechanical force as large as 10 5 dynes or 1 N. These significant changes of the measured values show that the optical fiber, by simulation, is pretty responsive against the external stimulations, either on the macroscopic scale or the microscopic scale. So that based on its responsiveness, we can assume that optical fiber is most likely possible to be utilized in various modern fiber optic sensor for many applied technologies.
