Soviet Poster 1917, Russia

I love getting cards from Russia and am especially thrilled when they're Vintage Soviet/CCCP/USSR postcards.  LOVE them!  This one was printed in 1985 to honour the Soviet Armed Force Foundation in October 1917.  Thanks Marina!

Vintage Chinese Peep Show

A great vintage card of a Chinese Peep Show.  The publishers description says that peep shows were very popular before modern film.   The viewer watched static pictures through a magnifying hole and the vendor pulled a rope to change the pictures regularly and described what was going on by singing.  How lovely.  I wonder what they're watching.

Black and white Sally Clark + Bear

I'm not quite sure what's going on here but I like to think they're dancing!  The publisher description says it's "Sally Clark (1883-1982) Adventurer, sculptor, cofounder of Society of Women Geographers.  "  I wonder what the bear is called...

Amazingly, despite her adventurous choice of dance partners Sally lived to be 99 years old!
