North Pole Post Office

"North Pole Post Office" - 3rd part of Santa's Village cross stitch BOM.

This is the last of any stitching for some time.
We are now in the middle of serious packing, it is quite possible that this time next week we will be in our new house. It is exiting, and quite scary at the same time.
All my other projects are now packed away in boxes.

Our beautiful summer weather continues, a little cooler and more pleasant today.
I hope all of you here in UK are enjoying out long awaited summer!

So, I am taking a break from posting for now, I hope to pop in and see you in the meantime, if time will allow. Keep stitching!

Anna's Angel

You might remember this picture of fabrics I bought at the Malvern show in May.
Some of them were for a special project, a present for my granddaughter's 8th birthday.

The design is based on a pattern from Helen of Syverkstan.

I can now show it to you.

another temptation given in to

I told myself that I am not going to get involved in this one, I really did! When I saw a new BOM in the Vignette magazine, I thought "not for me". I don't even like Vignette that much, I think it is very overpriced for what you are getting; I formed that opinion after seeing the first ever issue. Well, it is still going, despite the price.

So, Mrs Beasley's Sampler Quilt wasn't for me.

I should not be even thinking about any new projects, I should be sorting out my stuff and packing, our house move could be only a couple of weeks away! And then I saw the first completed block on Helen's blog - and that was that.........I was hooked again....
I like the use of Tilda fabrics in the original pattern. I have some (not necessarily the same) in my stash already and I added some more and threads to match.

Of course, there is no chance of starting this now, I am just gathering.
Not only I should not be stitching right now, it is too hot to stitch. For a couple of weeks now we have been having a proper summer, but now the temperatures are hitting 30ºC. Even now, in the middle of the night as I am sitting here writing this, my hands are very hot.

But, it is fantastic weather for the garden.

just to keep in touch

Only a quick update - the time seems to be running away with me at the moment, my thoughts being mainly on the house move.

So it was nice to be able to find time last weekend for our early morning walk in the woods. Yes, this is the one thing we will miss in our new home. We will just have to look for new place for our walks

.

Just a few pictures to share with you,

a strange creature in the forest.

Summer has arrived in "Still My Garden".

I will have time to pick and dry some lavender to take with me.

And I managed to find a quiet moment to do little stitching on the next block of Scandinavian Rose BOM.
