These next 2 I took through my Huge Mountain Pine
Something fun...an oldie but a goodie!
My little Halloween table just for me outside (preparing for next week's Tea Party under the moon--which will have a lot more on it)

It was very windy here last night, the candles would not stay lit
now some close ups etc.
Bubbling Cauldron-above, Jack-o-Lantern-below (artificial pumpkin, my son carved 3 Halloweens ago, we all made one)

I love my new "Toy" LOL
I live in New Jersey (USA). New Jersey is CHOCK FULL of history, some very weird, haunting and bizarre. We had true Pirates here back in the day. The most famous Bizarre legend is that of "The Jersey Devil".
Check it out here: The Jersey Devil

I saw the beast My senior year in HS, driving around in the woods with friends, everyone always used to ask us if we were High, -in fact we were NOT! LOL We only saw the head and the upper part of one wing as he was behind some brush. It was cool. I also saw a UFO my senior year, in fact half the people in the town I was living in, saw it that night, it was all over the school the next day, and on the radio etc. But then quite abruptly, the story was no longer on the radio or in the papers....Gov't cover-up???? hhhmmmmm
OK, so are you in the mood for scary stories?
I hope so, because I have something to share with one lucky commenter.
Here is my SURPRISE!!
The Book is New Jersey Haunts (BN, bought for this party) and a mini book lite so you can read in the dark to make it scarier!!
2 rules to win, very simple:
Comment on this post, telling me what you thought of it, AND tell me who the surprise guest star is in the above segment of the Addams Family show...hint, it is the short-ish fellow. (drawing 9pm est 10/22)
Good Luck all my Pretties!

Hi Susan, I just wanted to stop by and answer your questions about tarot. About having more than one deck, I own 3 tarot decks, and one oracle deck. My mentor had countless decks. He was a collector, he loved the different imagery that each deck presented. Owning more than one deck is completely up to you. I own three because the first two connected with me the minute I saw them. The other one was a gift from a friend. I am also planning on buying a few more decks, but I think I inherited the collecting gene from my mentor lol.
Different decks can mean different things, for example, if I was to pull a Ten of Imps from my Halloween deck it would mean something different than the Ten of Wands from another deck, but only because I personally get different feelings from the different images. Book wise they would mean the same thing, but tarot is 90% intuition and 10% book learning. You'll take the basic correspondences of the number and element associated with the card and then build off that with what the image says to you etc.
There are so many different decks because there are so many different people. No two people are the same so the same imagery won't resonate with the same people. And the different artists find inspiration in different things for their decks. When interested in getting your own deck, I suggest looking at a deck as thoroughly as you can (without being treated like you're stealing it that is) and see how it makes you feel. Do you feel connected to those cards? Do the images speak to you or are they just pretty pictures? Try to find a deck that you connect with. Once you've learned the basics with a deck you connect with you can getting a reading from any deck because you know the basic correspondences.
I've found that over time as I've grown stronger in my understanding of tarot and in my own intuition I can pick up practically any deck (even if I don't particularly like the images) and can get a good reading out of it. But that takes time and practice. I've been reading the tarot for about 3 years now and I still have lots to learn but I am comfortable with it and I love working with it. I think I'll do a post over at my blog specifically about tarot cards, different decks, etc. So drop by in the next couple of days if you like :D Sorry this is such a long comment. I wasn't sure if you wanted this shown on your comments or not, but I figured you could view it and delete it if you wanted to.
Look at your awesome Halloween party going on...looks like you're just getting started. I've brought a few guests from my own Manor Party....Pierce Brosnan, Johnny Depp...and.....oh yeah!
I must check out the food and brew over on the table to my right...and then mingle with some of your guests before I have to had back to my Manor to check on the havoc going on there! :)
Check out Harrington Manor Ball today.
Hi Susan,
Thank you for sharing your amazing tales of the Jersey Devil and UFOs .... it hits so close to home, because I am actually from New Jersey!!! I am from Central Jersey, so I hear those tales all the time... I even wrote a song called "Jersey Devil Jam" heheheh... Well have an awesome spooktacular Halloween!

Wonderful post! And as for the Jersey Devil, I've even heard of him all the way over here on the other side of the Atlantic! I love stories like that, great stuff. Happy Halloween!
Hi! What a wonderful post! I loved your images and photos! I thought is was awesome that you had the Addams Family video on here, too! I believe that the special guest star for this particular guest star was Don Rickles. I love him! He's hilarious. I remember watching him in the Frankie and Annette beach movies! Thanks for visiting my party and for inviting me to yours!

YIKES! I have never heard of the Jersey Devil....good thing I skipped the kitty snacks tonight, I think I might have nightmares anyway! Creepy, spooky.....will you hold my paw? I think I got frightened! Seriously!
Got any mousies to snack on? Might as well since I'm pretty sure I'm going to have nightmares anyway!
Purrs! (you are still holding my paw right?)
Romeo
Interesting post! I love the moon pictures, your cauldron and most of all the stories of the Jersey Devil-fascinating and scary!
What a great post, so packed full! I'm coveting your cauldron too ;)
Thank you very much for your kind comments on my party. You're right the Time Warp was from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, it's a scream.
I loved the Addams family video :)
Those Jersey Devil photos freaked me out! I have not heard those tales! Very spooky!
Thanks for visiting my Halloween wedding!
-Blanche
thanks for the invite! had a wonderful party time.
have a magical halloween
Hello again, another fab post from you, so much info to lead me on new adventures. Like Don Rickles, the AF guest; I realised I've never actually seen him perform in a non-acting role, so I'm going to hunt that down too. And I saw the article about de-bunking Halloween myths the other day, which led me on to the factual cases of people who've committed suicide being mistaken for Halloween decorations (for days, in one case)
And I love the photos of your cauldron changing colour, just magical. Although you may have stopped decorating your house for trick-or-treaters that don't show up, I'm glad you still have a little place to decorate for yourself. And a Tea Party under the Moon? I'm so intrigued, I'll be back for that too :D
Thank you!
What a great party! I wonder if you've had any sleep as of yet or if you're still haunting strong :-) Thanks so much for stopping by my party post and for your support & concern! I am so sorry to hear you have that experience after stent removal, I cannot imagine! I didn't have any problems with my last stent removal and to be honest, with my weakened immune system (because of my arthritis and all I've been going through recently), hospitals are very bad places for me to be because I can pick up infections so easily so we (my doctor's and I) avoid the hospital unless absolutely necessary. I'll be okay with stent removal at the doctor's office. (Another place not so good for me but not as easily avoidable out of necessity). Sunrise Mountain Scenic Overlook is up in Sussex County (it's part of Stokes State Forrest and the Appalachian Trail - minutes from our 2nd home). Those 2 massive sets of stone steps are here in Atlantic Highlands. We have many of those stair ways throughout the hills in the center of town going towards the water. Happy Halloween & Pumpkin Blessings!
What a fun party! I had never heard of the Jersey Devil-spooky! Thank you for inviting me to your party :) ~Lauren
I loved the stories and the history. My favorite are those wonderully mischievious looking characters in the Thanksgiving pics. I think they would make great pumpkin gypsies.

It sounds like Jersey would be a wonderful place to visit right around Halloween. I loved the post!
Micki
Oooh those photos of the pumpkin and cauldron all lit up were spooktacular!
I've heard of the Jersey Devil! That photo of the tree above the cemetery was soooo spooky and fabulous.
I love my retro programs but I didn't know the guest star. :(
Don Rickles is the guest star, one of the crooks, in the video.
The artwork is interesting, very new, modern, not what I am used to. The artwork from yesterdays post was more to my taste.
The Jersey devil info was really fascinating.
What a fabulous party! I particularly love the pre-party artwork that you posted!!!
Love your cauldron - very cool.
And they beat me to it... but I believe Don Rickels(sp?) is the guest star.
Thanks for sharing with us, you throw a great party-post!
Why, that's Don Rickles! I miss that show. I loved both shows - The Addams Family and The Munsters so much. You did a nice job with your party posts. Can't wait to see your Halloween Tea Party. :) Thank you for coming to visit with me at my party. Theresa
What a lovely party! And that Jersey devil...yikes! Thanks for sharing and for visiting my party!
PS The Addams Family theme song is still playing in my head! LOL!
I love local lore and the beasties that bump in the night. We have our own creature called "Char-man" a local legend, but no actual creature like yours. Love learning about stuff like this and would love to hear about your U.F.O.! Thanks for the fun time here.
I was too early yesterday, glad I ventured back...
Guess Star ~ Don Rickles
He's still as funny as ever...
This is sooooo much fun!!!
Love your blog & your creations.
Please fly by for my giveaways too...
