Joy, Peace & Love

Bringing in the blue shades for today's card, which was inspired by Color Dare challenge. I also used a fun fold for this card.

My shades of blue are in my cardstock for the base, the ink used for my cardstock letters. I used direct to paper technique to get that rich, dark color. And then finally, I used a paste for my ornament.

I challenge you all to do something monochromatic, and in particular use some blues!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I love a good Tic Tac Toe board! I played along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week. I went across the middle row . . . Gems/Embellishments with Embossing (I used wet embossing) and Snowflakes. Here is my card . . .

I just love all the texture in this card. between the stamped/embossed card base using embossing glitter to the die cut frame, and then all those sparkly snowflakes. This card just makes me smile.

And then add a bold sentiment!

Highly recommend you layer up some things.

Cheers!

Get Well Soon

My card today was inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink

I did make one adjustment in the sketch, as my element in the sketch spans up the tire card, and not just in the lower third as shown in the sketch.

This particular stamp, stencil and die set is from Hero Arts, and I love the gradation of color in the flowers. I really enjoy the opportunity to color with stencils.

I hope you find some time to create today!

Inspired by Trees

My card today was inspired by the challenge at As You See It. It was tree inspired . . .

And speed stamping . . . which means fast and that is always a challenge for me. I get caught up in the details. But to push through to fast, I went with a patter paper background.

I might have slowed myself down with the shading in my stamping.

And how about the awesome embossing glitter on this one? Love the texture on this one.

I hope you find some time to make something glittery!

Wishing You a Colorful Day

I had an absolute blast creating this card with it's rainbow of colors using this technique on kraft cardstock.

The sketch was inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I did swap out flowers for butterflies.

For this card I stamped my background in both white pigment ink and some bright rainbow colors. I used those same rainbow colors to blend my butterflies.

My one alteration from the sketch was centering my sentiment. Because it was a die, it seems more appropriate to center it.

Take some time to create with a rainbow of colors.

Thankful for You

Today's card was inspired by the challenge at Little Red Wagon, which was "emboss it", and so I did!

For this card I used a background stamp to emboss with white embossing power. I had embossed on watercolor paper, so I used some Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder to bring in color, but then decided to intensify that color with some of my Catherine Pooler Inks in colors that matched.

I die cut the leaves from the background piece, and added them to a stenciled, ink blended background.

I hope you can be creative very soon!

Fall Card Inspired by Tic Tac Toe

Today's card was inspired by Tic Tac Toe Challenge. Here's the board . . .

I went straight down the middle for this one.

My die cuts were my sentiment and leaves. I added some texture to this card by triple embossing that sentiment die.

I love how cardstock becomes an embellishment with the layers of embossing glitter.

I hope you find some time to pick a tic tac toe lane.

Happy Halloween

I was inspired by this week's Just Us Girls' Inspiration. Who doesn't love a fabulous mood board full of Halloween themed items. The image that pulled me in were those witch legs. I'm a sucker for some cute witch legs.

So I staged mine, but a bit toppled over.

She fell into something, and her hat hit the ground. All the webs were surrounding it all.

I do love the coordination of pattern paper, inks and stamps at Catherine Pooler Designs.

I hope you can either make a witchy card or coordinate all the things.

Cheers!

Let's Eat Cake!

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to get into my craft room, dig into my crafty stash, and dig out some fun stamps, dies and embellishments.

Dots were the challenge at Seize the Birthday. I pulled out an old die set from Concord & 9th's summer camp. I think this one was from 2022, so it was overdue for a play date.

So I brought in products from other companies and got busy creating a birthday card with some dots. They're big dots, in the form of the pattern paper.

The yumminess of the sparkly decorative frosting was compliments of Nuvo Confetti (also in my stash for quite some time).

Chocolate cake with a white buttercream frosting. I'm hungry now.

I love a good interactive card.

Find some time to create something yummy in your craft room.

Pumpkin Inspired - Thankful and Blessed

This evening's card was Inspired By the challenge of that name! The prompt there was pumpkins, with the option of a sketch as well. I stuck with the pumpkins.

I used a blender pen and my Catherine Pooler inks to color my images. I tried to keep things fairly simple in the background, and added a white on white embossed background.

It's definitely fall, as the nights are cooler and cooler.

Hope you are enjoying the beginnings of the fall season.

Thanks for Being There

It was a crafty week for me. I took time off from my day job to catch up on house chores, but more importantly connect with all my crafty stash!

This card was inspired by the prompt at Just Add Ink, which was a choose two this week. The options were Circle, Trees and Ink Blending. I went with a Circle, in the form of a wreath, with some ink blending.

So yes, I'm playing with some spring stamps when it's fall. It's how my timeline rolls. But a thank you card is timeless, regardless of the crafty art that surrounds it. I stamped my images using white embossing powder, and then used small blending brushes and daubers to color my images, taking advantage of the emboss resist technique.

The pattern paper adds some interest to the background that I didn't see coming.

I hope you find some time to get inky.

Shake It Up for Little Red Wagon

I can never miss an opportunity to make a shaker card, as was the prompt at Little Red Wagon. I had this one watercolor piece on my desk for quite some time and decided to put it to use.

Went with a bit of masculine look for this card, and a bit monochromatic in shades of blue.

I do love layers, and nothing says layer it up like a shaker card.

I hope you get the opportunity to shake something up today.

Hope

The prompt at Just Us Girls reminded me of a song from the 90's by Janis Ian. The lyrics mention that "hope" is just a four-letter word. I had the song in my head as I created this card.

I had received the butterfly stamp set and the dies as part of a challenge back in August, so they were on my desk and ready for play. I also had just ordered the sentiment set used here, and it was close-by and waiting for me to break open the packaging.

Turnabout stamps are a fun challenge. I went with tertiary colors in the hopes it would blend together nicely.

Hi Friend

Cheers to all things inky and crafty. If you've got glue on one of your fingers, you must be in a happy place!

Earlier this week I created a little something for Freshly Made Sketches using some product I got several years ago from a virtual event. I love pulling out old product and making it new again. The zip pouch even had some leftover cardstock.

I stamped in gold embossing powder and cut my sentiment, and then went on to cut layers in all the colors in the pouch.

I love layers!

I hope you can find some time to get crafty today.

House Mouse ABC Blocks

It's been a while since I colored a House Mouse image, but was inspired to color and create a card with the ABC blocks and the little critters. The prompt at House Mouse & Friends Monthly Challenge was the option of back to school. I thought the blocks were perfect.

But of course, mice in diapers aren't going to make it school . . . only potty-trained mice would make it there. But perhaps the daycare is teaching them to get their blocks in alphabetical order.

In the end I turned it into a supportive card. Sometimes you start out in one place and end up in another.

Find some crafty time today!

Feline Spooky, Inspired by Tic Tac Toe Challenge

I went across the bottom row for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, including some multiples, die cuts and the sparkle and shine.

I had so much fun creating this card. I cut two panels of my "boo, eek coverplate", one for the purple sparkle and the other to get all my ghosts. I have multiple ghosts, and then added my die cut cats and have multiples there.

Not to mention all the boo's and eeks!

Such a fun card to create. I hope you find some fun creative time today.

Swirling Foliage . . . Texture and Foliage

Sharing a card that was inspired by Just Add Ink's challenge this week, which was a just take two challenge. The options for the two were texture, foliage or string. I went with texture and foliage.

I love the use of embossing powders. For this one I attempted to mix it up a bit.

The true texture is in the sentiment die, which I layered up with a "chunky" embossing powder.

The Cargo Embossing Powder is such a fun powder to melt.

Go melt some powder! So satisfying.

Life is a Party

I love that my time off has led to digging into my stash and participating in some challenges. Last night I played with the tic-tac-toe challenge at The Paper Players

I went middle column with some sequins for bling, some white heat embossing on my diagonal striped pattern paper, and a big sentiment which I backed in some coordinating pattern papers.

I do love the color palette on this card. This paper pack is my jam!

Cheers!

Just Choose Two for Just Add Ink

Just Add Ink's challenge was a Just Add Two challenge this week. The options: Blending, Embossing and White!

I went with the embossing and the white, starting with a white card base and then using embossing on my cover plate die and sentiment.

I cut my cover plate die from pattern paper and white cardstock. I then trimmed out the ghosts from the white and embossed them in white. I layered some black cardstock behind their eyes, and popped them back into place on the pattern paper piece.

So I'm a bit late for Halloween, or perhaps early? I don't do anything on a timetable. I like to bag up supplies, and grab and create. Embossed, white ghosts were my goal with this adorable cover plate die from Catherine Pooler Designs.

So fun to create, and I hope you find some time to have some fun in your craft room.

Seize the Birthday Inspired

It has certainly been a while since I've posted.  Life has been a bit on the busy side, and it always puts a damper on my crafty fun.

I managed to get some craft time the last couple of weeks, and this weekend was inspired to create a card using the inspiration at Seize the Birthday.

I went with wet embossing, because nothing is more magical than melting embossing powder.  I stamped my cupcake images with Versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder.  My three sentiment pieces were all embossed with white embossing powder.

Such a fun and easy card to create, and bit on the masculine side which is always a plus.

I hope you find some time to get inky!
