Fall is in the air....so let's Decorate!

Have you decorated your home for fall yet? I can feel the nights getting cooler, but the days are still pretty hot, however I feel fall weather is close!

I'm ready for sweaters, boots, scarves & of course bonfires in our new firepit (see previous post to see our new firepit hubby built) But weather is not quite ready for that yet, so instead let's decorate our homes!

I have been making chalkboard style sign boards for about a year now & made some especially for fall. I'd say that really helps to bring a bit of fall into the home. Look at all those great fall activities to look forward to in this fall bucket list! I have about 6-8 designs for fall, but this is the best seller.

You can find this sign HERE

Fall Decorating

I have had my home decorated for fall for about 1 month but just got around to taking pics. So thought I would show you.

 The fireplace mantle

Love my wood carved owl! Got this at a flea market a few yrs ago for $15. He comes out every fall.

Soup Tureen - so perfect for fall soups & stews!
Just got an old scrabble game at a garage sale for $1 this past weekend-just for decorating!
My cloche is another one of my garage sale finds from a few yrs ago. The pumpkins inside are actually salt & pepper shakers...got those at a flea market for $3.
I keep the table decorated for fall just because I like it! Ceramic pumpkins from the dollar store a couple yrs ago.

Oh, and just thought I would also show you the firepit hubby is working on. A deck will be surrounding it.  (you won't see the concrete blocks - the deck will cover that part)
Can't wait to sit by the fire in adirondack chairs and make s'mores!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are enjoying fall too!

Unpacking and Decorating

We were able to get our furniture moved back in to our home last friday...YEA! So I spent the weekend unpacking some boxes. It was nice seeing my stuff again!!

We are hoping to move back home by this weekend. Just need a couple kitchen cabinets back from the cabinet maker, the sink, faucet, and granite installed. Hopefully it all gets installed this week! I am so ready to get back to my home!! Meanwhile I'm still in the rental home and going over to our house every evening to unpack more boxes and do a bit of decorating for fall.

(enlarge photos by clicking on them)
See my pretty acorns...I got them at pottery barn last christmas for $2. I used real acorns last year when I decorated for fall and had problems with them sprouting and with bugs, so this year it is faux acorns! LOL

Here you can see a peak of my new hardwood floors. They are much prettier in person & not as dark!

Here is my new soup tureen...isn't she lovely?! I bought her at a local flea market a couple weeks ago for $8!!

Perfect for all those soups on chilly days! Oh and my little pumpkins are salt & pepper shakers bought them also at the flea market (last year) for $3.

How do you like my tall carved wood owl? Bought him at the Flea Market too about 6 months ago for $15.

The plan was to sell him around this time of year for all those that decorate for Halloween, but I kinda like him. He is solid wood. I could totally see this in a Pottery Barn catalog! Would you paint him black or keep him as is?? Would you keep it or sell it??

Take Care!!

A Gorgeous Fall Day!

I've been sick with a headcold all last week and didn't get out of the house at all. So sunday hubby suggested we go for a little drive around town to see the fall foliage. Oh my gosh....I think all the leaves changed while I was at home sick. I was just amazed how much the trees changed in just 1 week! It was such a beautiful drive and so nice to get out of the house! (please excuse the antenna in some of my pics...we were driving)

OK now it's your turn to show us all the fall color around your hometown.

Outcome of Fall Camp Out Party

Saturday was our youngest daughter's Fall Camp Out Party. She invited 6 but only 2 were able to attend. They had a great time even if it was just a party of 3. We started the party by taking the girls on our party barge(pontoon boat). Then we came back and roasted hot dogs. After dinner they danced on the deck and played limbo. They warmed up in the hot tub, then warmed up by the bon fire. They roasted marshmallows & made s'mores. I'm not crazy about s'mores...so I just ate the chocolate! Then the girls played flashlight tag outside in their jammies. They worked up an appetite from running all around so then they ate the homemade caramel apples that I made...yummy they were so good! Daughter said they were too chewy, but the other girls loved them! Around 10:30pm they went into the tent & were fast asleep by 11pm. The temp got down to 44 degrees, so they said they kinda got cold, but that it wasn't too bad. Hubby slept outside in a seperate tent to make sure they would be safe. I opted to sleep in my warm bed in the house. I was actually thrilled to have the bed to myself! Overall it was a great time & hopefully created lasting memories for all the girls!

Leaf shape sugar cookies that I made

Limbo...anyone??
