Now onto my project.
I choose 'Summer Grilling DIGI781' to create with.

I started with a stenciled background using Memory Box Star Dust Stencil.
I taped my card stock down with painters tape,
then using Dreamweaver White embossing paste and
Pallete Knife, I applied the paste.
I quickly removed the tape,
then sprinkled the still wet stars with
Enlightened Blue glitter.

I set the panel aside to dry,
printed my digital apron on a red gingham check paper
then fussy cut it out.
I did the same with the oven mitt,
but this time using the pre-colored image provided.

I printed the apron a second time on a blue card stock,
cutting out only the pockets.
Both were popped up for a 3D look.

Once the panel was dry,
I adhered it to my blue card stock base
by using 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape.

I then had a tiny ant die and small utensil dies
that I used on the apron.
The utensils were cut from a white card stock,
then coated with Versamark and Silver Detail embossing powder

To finish, I printed the sentiment,
then added a tiny bow to the apron and a button to the oven glove.

Thank you for visiting with me today!
Make sure and do the hop, as all 6 stamp sets
are up for grabs and one lucky winner can have them all...
will it be YOU?

Next on our blog hop is Chris.

Hi Cupcake!!

Hi all!!

This week at Chocolate Coffee & Cards our challenge theme is
'Circles and Squares'!
The sponsor is Kenny K Stamps.
For my card I am using Cupcake Celebration Digi stamp.

I decided I hadn't made a shaker card in a while
and thought this image would be fun for a shaker.

I used a circle die for the shaker cut out
and a second one for the outer ring (one inside the other, then cutting).

The squares are the 2 stacked pieces for the sentiment,
which BTW is from an old stamp set I have
without a name on it!

The image was colored with Copics.
What you can't see, if that the 'sprinkles' on the cupcake
are colored in with a glitter pen which adds a bit of 'sparkle".

Also what you can't probably see
is that behind the shaker is an embossed background of cupcakes.
I think this is the first time I have ever used it.

I popped the image up off center to the side of the shaker,
added a few gems for more sparkle
and a tiny twine bow.

Pop on over to the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards blog
to see what the Design Team has created...
join in with us, we would love to have you!

To The Best Mom Ever

In my email last week I received from Cricut
a nice selection of Mother's day cards to create in Design Space.
There were so many pretty ones, but I chose
this beautiful overlay one.
Funny thing is I already had a Mother's Day card created,
but my Mom loves yellow, so I decided to do this one instead
of the pink one (which will be on my blog next Wednesday).

Pretty simple card, took less then five minutes using just a
pretty yellow card stock, white card base and a gingham bow!

I could of added pearls or gems, but I liked it just the way it is!

I have to admit, the new Cricut Explore is fabulous...
I still have my 2 old ones, not sure why...
but it must be the 'hoarder' in me..lol.

Happy Birthday Challenge

Well hello all....
Today is the start of a new challenge at
with our theme being "Happy Birthday"
and hosted by our 'sistah' Anna!

I seem to have an over abundance of not only 'scrap'
papers (which I am pretty good at using)
but die cuts, card fronts and other 'discarded' at the moment pieces
(which I am NOT good at using)!

So I decided I was going to force myself into digging through
my stash of pre-cuts and see what I come up with.

All my scraps (papers included) are sorted by color.
I decided to grab the 'pink'  and 'white' scrap bags today as they seem to be the fullest!
So this card was made with a pre-embossed card front panel,
and layered pre-cut scallop pieces, one of which I had stamped the
'happy birthday' on.....perfect!

The bird die cut, birdhouse die cut and butterfly
are all from the same 'said' bag of goodies!

I think it turned out really pretty and it came together super fast!!

So, head on over to The Sisterhood challenge and see what my
other 'sistahs' have to inspire you...join in with us too!!

Doggone Cute

I have a fun card to share I made for
I think it is such a 'HAPPY" face on that cute doggie
that it would make a great 'happy birthday' card.

This card is a rather large one, being 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 square.
But I had to fit the dog on and the dog house as well.

I layered white card stock and a SU red piece on that
and then 'let the fun' begin!

This month all the designers were to work with chipboard
from Want 2 Scrap on our projects as well as our

I choose the 'dog house' chipboard
first tracing it onto a scrap piece of designer paper,
then stamping with a stamp I love from Donna's Stylin Sayings.
I love how it gives a worn appearance to the dog house.

Next I added strips of 1/4" double sided Terrific Tape along each
side of the roof, then sprinkled Enlightened Blue glitter on.
I added a few Want 2 Scrap paw print bling to the house.

The dog is from stamp set Hearts Like Dogs,
he was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.

I used Want 2 Scrap clouds, adding brushable glue to each
then sprinkling with Sparkle N Soft Twinkling Clouds...
it gives off a nice 'fluffy' cloud appearance.

To finish I added a snippet of a bow to the dog and a
die cut grass border.

Stop back by here at 9pm on the 30th to see the "May Reveal"...

Birds and Blooms

This is my post on the
Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.

Hi, Diane with you today to show you how to make a fun
and glittery  background.
Secret Garden 773P5
First start by picking out a stencil of your choice.
I used a Memory Box confetti stencil.
Add a remove-able tape to the edges of the stencil to hold it in place.
Using a Palette Knifeapply Dreamweavers White Embossing Paste.
Secret Garden 773P5
Carefully remove your tape, starting at the sides, then the bottom piece.
Lift the stencil up from the bottom (like a hinge)
and carefully pull up, taking the last piece of tape off with the stencil.
Secret Garden 773P5
Now the fun part!
While the embossing paste is still wet, sprinkle on
Misty Blue Glitter....isn't it pretty?
Set aside to let dry.  It does dry very quickly, however
I let mine dry a few hours, after all you wouldn't want to mess up
your just finished beautiful background.
Secret Garden 773P5
I next laid out my Want 2 Scrap Birdhouse chipboard and Daisy Chipboard pieces
to see where I wanted to add them to the card front.
Secret Garden 773P5
I added Versamark to each flower, then coated it with White embossing powder.
I did the same with the birdhouse, only this  time using Coffee embossing powder.
Secret Garden 773P5
I added Brushable glue to the stem and leaves, the coated with Spirited Green
glitter.  I did the same with the flower petals using Lemonade glitter.
I set the flowers on my craft mat and filled each center with
Nuvo Golden Sunset glitter drops were added along the edge of the birdhouse.
Secret Garden 773P5
I stamped and fussy cut the bird from the stamp set
Secret Garden that had been colored with Copics.
Thank you for visiting with me today and I hope you will give this
background technique a try!

Earth Day

Today is earth day and I thought I would 'just for fun' create a card
worthy of the day!
You are suppose to plant a tree in honor of this day,
but I'm good as I normally plant one or two a year here.

I had an idea for this card, but as I was creating it, I begin to
like it less and less...lol.
So I completely started over and this is what I came up with.

I have a bunch of pre-scored card stock from my SU demonstrator days
and am bound and determined to use it up, though it may take me a lifetime!
I just find myself using mostly white card stock
and ignoring all the pretty colors I have tons of!

So I used a pretty teal blue for the base,
and a designer paper from Echo Park Oh so Thankful collections.
The little owl is from the same collection

The globe is an SU designer paper
and the sentiment is Magenta.

That about sums it up.
It is raining here today as I am writing this up...
it is very dry so I am glad, plus it means I can
spend more time in my creative room!!

More Teapots

Hi All,

Last week I mentioned I would have another post using the
Cottage Cutz Tea Time Border die...and this is it!

When cutting my die last week from glossy card stock,
I used a shim, (which with most Cottage Cutz dies you don't need)
so being a glossy card stock, with the shim, it gave a distressed/crazed
appearance on the image.
Actually kind of cool, but not what I was looking for at that time.
However, the wheels were turning and I set it aside for a later use.

I grabbed some TH Broken China Distress ink and rubbed it
on and into the cracks (which BTW you can see better IRL).
I then decided to cut it in half, popped each half up,
added a tiny pearl to each teapot, sugar bowl top.....
I love the way it turned out!

I embossed a white panel with a doily pattern background
and added a ribbon/bow using once again ribbon from the ribbon club
from RRR.

A little 'hello' tag and a heart button were added to finish!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Time for a new challenge at
This week Team Darlene is hosting
and I am joining in from Team Diane!
The theme is April Showers Bring May Flowers
and using the inspiration tile below!

My entire card once again, was based on the scrap piece
of designer paper you see.
I have been straightening/cleaning out my 12 x 12 paper rack
and came across this paper with the rain boots on it.

I also knew I had purchased a rain stamp a year or so back
so it was stamped with versamark on vellum,
then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I used die cuts for the umbrella (Spellbinders) and tulips (Memory Box)
and the cloud (Memory Box).
I stamped my sentiment on the cloud.

To keep it a bit flatter, instead of a bow,
I just added a tied ribbon piece!

Now pop on over to the
Double D Challenge blog to see what the DT has
created to inspire you to join along.
As usual this is a fabulous prize being offered,
one which the entire DT is drooling over..lol!!

Birthday Wishes

Today I have a somewhat 'clean and simple' card
I created especially for the Impression Obsession challenge
which is 'Birthday Wishes'.!

I spotted this little piece of grosgrain ribbon in my stash and
decided to build my entire card around it and use it up....
I guess you could call it a 'snippet' of ribbon....lol!

I knew I wanted to use it on a wreath of sorts,
so I cut an IO wreath die (DIE262-Y).
Now this is a pretty cool die as it also comes with tiny flowers to add,
but I opted to leave them off this time as I wanted it as CAS
as I could get it!

The wreath itself was cut from scrap paper and
the embossed background was from my already 'EB' stash.

I think it will make a fun and pretty Spring/Summer
birthday card. I did stamp a birthday sentiment inside
which I guess I neglected to take a photo of!
