Well blogging friends, I've left you in suspense long enough...Gooseberry Patch contacted me about being an Early Bird Reviewer.
As a lover of cookies, and who isn't, I couldn't pass up the offer to review, "Best Ever Cookies". It was very difficult to decide which cookies to try. As usual, Gooseberry Patch came through with a wonderful selection of recipes. There are eight categories to choose from...they are as follows:
Cookie Jar Classics
Holiday Cookies
All-American Cookies
Old-Fashioned Cookies
Best-Ever Brownies and Bars
Fast and Fun Cookies
Light and Healthy Cookies
Big-Batch Cookies
I finally decided to make Pecan Praline Cookies from the All-American Cookie Section. These cookies were very quick and easy to make. They were crispy on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside. It was all I could do to stop eating them (there goes my diet...lol)!
My second selection was Apricot Truffles from the Fast and Fun Cookie Section. The hardest part of making these was chopping the apricots...after that, it was smooth sailing. The truffles actually get better after a few days when all of the flavors blend together (the apricots got sweeter). My husband loved them and he's usually only a lover of chocolate.
If you love cookies and Gooseberry Patch, then you should definitely add this cookbook to your collection. It would also make a great gift for a Bride-to-Be. Along with the recipes, you will find helpful hints, ideas, and quotes at the bottom of the pages...this is one of my favorite features of the Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks.
