Bombshell Hump Day Blog Hop Today

Welcome to March's Bombshell Hump Day Hop! It's been a while since I've had the chance to participate in one of the hops, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use one of my all time favorite materials to work with...METAL!!!

Kas is our new blog hop captain, and this month she challenged us to make something on metal, with metal, around metal, or about "metal"; I'm sure you get the point. I took the challenge literally, and since I love working with soda cans, I decided to cut one up and use a sheet of it as the base of my design.

I used the butterfly images from "Butterfly Queen" and stamped them with Stazon, then colored with Bic markers. Then from the back I rubbed "bubbles" into the metal using the marker tip.

The glitter images on my card base come from the "Pinstriping" set. I colored them with Bics as well, and then covered with irridescent glitter. Although the lighting of my picture is not fabulous, I hope you can see it well enough and enjoy the card.

So, if it's been a while since you've hopped with Bombshell, or if you've never hopped, you may not be aware that there is an awesome prize! And here it is:

How can you win it you ask? Well, just leave a comment here on my blog and tell me what you think about my project. Then when you hop through to the other blogs, leave them a comment as well. Every comment gives you another chance at winning the March Prize Package.

Don't forget you can also enter the Bombshell Sketch Challenge and the Monthly Challenge for EVEN MORE chances to win!

Here is the list of the other participants, so hop along and enjoy!

Carnies Mermaid

Today's post is gonna be short and sweet, cause I'm just a stamping fool today and want to take advantage of the time I have. I do want to share a card I just finished using the Carnies Mermaid from the Smeared Ink set.

I made the background using glossy white cardstock and ink refills from Stampin' Up, then added some shiny purple nail polish to some of the edges. The card base is stamped with purple painted bubble wrap, and the shiny black ribbon came from a RAK from Monica (thank you Monica!!!!!!!!). To add the mermaid's shadow, I embossed the image in black powder directly onto my square, then cut out a colored mermaid image and mounted her with 3-D pop dots. Finally, I added in black wire. Hope you enjoy it, and hopefully I'll have a couple more projects to post after today!!!

Meet Kathi- Smeared and Smudged Design Team

Yes, I know it's not Friday. I've come to the realization that I am a scatterbrain, and am no longer kidding myself that I can stick to a blog schedule. SO, from now on I'm just going with the flow! All that aside, today I'd like to introduce you to fabulous Kathi! I "met" Kathi through Bombshell, and instantly fell in love with both her sassy-sweet personality and her rockin' art. I was thrilled when she came onboard for the S&S Design Team. Now you and me both get the chance to learn a little more about her and what makes her tick!

"I'm a native New Yorker transplanted to New Jersey which gives me attitude times two! I'm a mom to a college student, wife for over 29 years, and have two cats. Staid on the outside, I have an inner wild child, who periodically appears. My daughter once told me when she was much younger, "Face it Mom. You ARE your evil twin." Out of the mouths of babes...

I'm a scrapper, turned card maker, turned stamper, turned paper crafter. I love all colorants, patterned paper, and bling. My style continues to evolve and can be cute and whimsical, shabby and tattered, or edgy, depending on my mood!

In addition to being a proud Smeared & Smudged DT member, I'm currently Bombshell Stamps Design Team Captain. My past crafting history includes several terms on justjohanna's Odd Bird Planet Design Team, FiberMark's Creative Team, Maisy Mo's Design Team, Scraptalk's Design Team, ScrapBasic's Design Team, and the Cardstock Club's Design Team. I've had work published in several Memory Makers' idea books, Paper Crafts, The Rubber Stamper, Vamp Stamp, Card Maker, and Crafts 'N Things."

Be sure to give a shout out and show some love on Kathi's blog. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us over on S&S in the upcoming weeks, and if you'd like to keep updated on her S&S artwork, visit her page on the forum!

Smeared and Smudged Member Blog Hop Thursday!

Welcome to the first ever Smeared and Smudged Forum Member Blog Hop! This hop is all about featuring the fascinating and talented members of the Smeared and Smudged forum. We have twenty-one different member blogs for you to visit and peruse, all of which are displaying wonderful projects for your enjoyment!

If you don't know what the Smeared and Smudged forum is all about, let me tell you a little bit about it. After unsucessfully searching high and low for a stamping network where I could truly be my weird, dark, and fabulous self, I decided to create the forum. Don't get me wrong, there are alot of great forums out there, and I am a member of a few, but none where I felt really at home. My art was usually too different and dark, or not cute enough for me to feel like I fit in.

This is why the S&S Forum was "born". Now at 86 members strong, we're all about expressing ourselves through gothic, vintage, dark, alternative, and out-of-the-norm stamping, and truly being friendly and open to all types of art (including the occasional cute stuff LOL).

The thing I love most about the forum is, everyone is truly friendly and supportive!! I'm so very grateful for all of the wonderful friends I have made there, and feel absolutely blessed to have finally found other like-minded crafters!

So, if you'd like to join us, just go to the Smeared and Smudged Forum and we'd love to welcome you! Now on to the hop.

For my project I am offering another exclusive Sneak Peek at one of the upcoming Smeared Ink stamp sets. If this is your first visit to my blog, you may not know that my sister and I recently started our own stamp company called Smeared Ink. We have introduced our first four sets for preorder (which will be available in stock very soon!) and have launched our website.

My project today uses an image and saying available on the Li'l Grumpies set that will be in our next stamp release.

Rather than making a card, I decided to alter a tin that I found at the dollar store. This would make a perfect little gift for someone. The colors are cute and sweet, but the Girly Li'l Grumpy and "suck it up." saying make this lollipop tin super sassy!

I used paint and embossing powders to alter the lid, then embellished with my images, ribbon, eyelets, and crystals. To finish it off, I added bows to my lollipops.

I'd love to hear what you think about it, so feel free to leave a comment. Then hop through the other member blogs to view their awesome projects!
