Welcome back to the Wednesday Hodgepodge!
What's something you've learned from a younger person?
I'm always learning something new from my son and DIL! Everything from where to find (Eagles) 7 Bridges Road and other Alabama-specific factoids ... to little-known snippets of history that I'm pretty sure they never taught us in school.
Are you a perfectionist? Elaborate.
When I was working, yes. I always tried to hold myself to a higher standard than what was expected.
Lately, I've become more relaxed.
Unless you're talking about the contents of my drawers. Not sure if that's perfectionism or OCD!
What makes you cringe?
September is National Honey month. Do you have bees and make your own? Know someone who has bees and they share? Your favorite thing made with honey?
Noooo and no!
I can still see my dear mother at the stove, drizzling honey into a saucepan of warming milk. It made having a cold almost pleasurable!
These days honey's not something to which I give much thought. I'm interested in hearing what others have to share!
Where is your happy place?
Insert your own random thought here.
I love hot lemon tea with homey. It always helps clear up any congestion. My family always inspires me to do better and keep motivated. There's not s day goes by but that I learn something new. No matter how old I get there is always something new to learn. I'm far from a perfectionist, but simply try to do my best with what I've got. We go over the hump of the week today, Smooth sailing into the weekend ! Love, ma
ReplyDeleteOh no, no, no, no and then NO about that snake! That was a big one! I love your happy place! It looks very homey and comfy! We occasionally have used honey recently in some recipes but other than that I can't tell you the last time I put honey in tea, though it was refreshing at times. I have a bit of OCD myself on things but try not to be a perfectionist. Hardest thing I have is letting go and letting someone do something because they won't "do it my way" lol :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Love your comfy space. No to the snake! I love your random thought and it's s very true!!
ReplyDeletedid they every repair you homey place? starting with important stuff first? I love your homey place, and those steps make me smile.
ReplyDeleteNOPE! not snake held by me, might not be totally dead.
OCD for what can be seen, but doesn't carry over to my drawers. they are messy, I organize closets, cabinets and drawers but in short time they are messing. SURFACE has to be RIGHT.
I have mellowed, in the past I made myself and all who lived with me miserable trying to keep everything where it belonged. now I can ignore some of it, to old to fuss about it. right now I am looking at the cushions standing in the corner of the kitchen from the outside chairs. it has been raining every day and night for 3 weeks, so they live in the kitchen to get on my OCD nerve.
Interesting answers; I like them.
ReplyDeleteI've recently learnt from a young person that LOL does not mean Lots Of Love. I used to send texts like: Sorry to hear you broke your leg. LOL.
That snake would make a nice belt. Right measurements too.
I'm such a perfectionist I haven't yet decided the font for my next book. Do you think Wingdings is OK?
God bless.
No snake for me either!
ReplyDeleteI really did like this post. When my granddaughter was here this summer (she's 8) I learned I can use the echo device as an intercom to TheHub when he is in his office in the basement and I am in the kitchen. I had no clue it would do that. No more standing at the door and yelling that dinner is ready!
I love your random thought-so true! I'm not a fan of snakes but can handle seeing one now and then. We live on a lake in the woods so there are bound to be snakes around on occasion. Bats are what freak me out. My hubs loves snakes so if neighbors need one dealt with they know they can call him.
ReplyDeleteThat poster about love melted my heart. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYes to your random!! Snakes don't bother me so much. Your happy place looks very much like mine!! xo
ReplyDeleteYes, I love the last quote...very good. That snake is a big one! Glad it's dead. Was it a rattler? I don't see the rattles. Anyway, glad it's dead. I said that already. I must mean it. LOL. Your happy place looks nice and comfy indeed. I see the pups have their own access to the "throne". LOL. It's always good to keep learning something new. Keeps us young. LOL. This was lovely. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI sure do like your happy place, Myra! I love sitting on our couch to read, watch TV, or take a nap. It's what makes home sweet home for me.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I love honey in my tea and sometime if I can not sleep in warm milk. You may have bees in my city but I don't know anyone although I have seen random honey bees buzzing about. We have a Gardner snake, lives under the concrete by the garage. He moves fast and has no desire to bother us. But big ugly snakes,no thank you! I love my happy place. on my adjustable bed when I am reading or need to curl up on a cold or rainy day. We have had a few days of cooler weather, it is very nice. Oh Rebekah is good at baking all things. My friend Chris said "I would 300 lbs. if I was around Rebekah!" hahaha We eat in moderation. She & Zach made this chocolate cake with crushed oreo's and all this chocolateness. It is way too rich for me. So I do not eat it. I am waiting for more cooler temps to make scones. Avery is the master of shaping them perfectly. Have a wonderful weekend. They come around quickly. HUGS
ReplyDeleteYou can keep that icky snake right there, smiles...and yes on your last graphic. smiles
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading your answers. No way I want to hold a snake!!! I rarely use honey. I love you happy place. Love your random. Have a wonderful week.
