[edit]Hi there,
You are receiving this message because you edited the initial naming straw poll for the Wikimedia Travel Guide.
The proposed naming poll is now open and you can vote for as many of the proposed names as you wish, if you are eligible. Please see Travel Guide/Naming Process for full details on voting eligibility and how the final name will be selected. Voting will last for 14 days, and will terminate on 16 October at 06:59:59 UTC.

Hi, I'm glad you created the Wikivoyage/Lounge. I don't understand how it is a "General Lounge" and not simply the "Lounge". So I removed "General" form its name on the page. However, if this "General" is important for some reason, perhaps to distinguish it from the "Lounges" on specific language versions (not an issue for me because I only know the Travelers' Pub) please feel free to put "General" back. I probably shouldn't have messed with it because I probably wont be using the Lounge myself. So now you know why I did it and that it is okay with me if you revert back to calling it General Lounge. --Rogerhc (talk) 23:15, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for addressing the issue. I'm fine with that. The "General" in "General Lounge" was meant as a kindness towards the old Wikivoyage community because their Meta was called General. But I think that Lounge alone is alright, and I have adapted the line already in all other placed I had added the Lounge on Meta this afternoon. We can leave it like this.--Aschmidt (talk) 23:25, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
Meta Wikivoyage page top banner
[edit]By the way, if you will be using this Meta Wikivoyage/Lounge or the Meta Wikivoyage page, please feel free to rotate through various favorite travel photos in the Meta Wikivoyage page top banner if you like. Maybe even several travel photos at a time along the right side of Wikivoyage page would look great! I think great travel photos are one of Wikivoyage's most attractive assets. I would love to see great travel photos showcased in Meta Wikivoyage page top banner, and down right side of page. But I will probably not be visiting the page enough myself to do it myself. So plunge ahead and make it yours. I figure a banner at top of Wikivoyage page with some relevant Wikivoyage community message (currently the one about our MWF November 11 launch) and some lovely travel photos will make us all feel at home here, and will show off to anyone who happens by how beautiful Wikivoyage is. Cheers! --Rogerhc (talk) 23:15, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's a good idea indeed. We could go further still and leave it to a different WV community each month to select the Travel photo of the month. I'll raise the question on the new Lounge.--Aschmidt (talk) 23:28, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- Aha! That would be great! I love it. Cheers, :-) --Rogerhc (talk) 23:55, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
Sister projects: Wikivoyage
[edit]Hello, I formerly added Wikivoyage, but the addition was removed because it's still in beta: [1]. I'm not sure if this still applies. Cheers, πr2 (t • c) 00:13, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- Of course, it's in beta, but it's there. I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be on the Main page. Thanks for warning me anyway! --Aschmidt (talk) 00:16, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- It may be because of http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikivoyage-l/2012-November/000118.html: "remember to /not/ publicize our launch yet!". I agree it's unneeded but I guess that's what the WMF wants, and they probably have a good justification. πr2 (t • c) 00:24, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- Thx for providing the link, but it is not up to the Foundation to decide this, it's up to the community. And I certainly have announced the beta launch of WV on German Wikipedia which has lead to some Wikipedians helping out there. If the English language version of WV does not want to be given a helping hand...--Aschmidt (talk) 00:33, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
