Each Wikimedia wiki should have a brief mission/scope statement. I'll be jotting down some notes here from time to time to delineate mission and scope of different wikis.
Backstage projects:
- Meta
- Operating wiki for cross-project policy development, work coordination, elections, discussions, and essays.
- Strategy wiki
- Movement and organizational planning wiki, strategic research projects, brainstorming
- Outreach wiki
- Operating wiki for activities aimed at recruiting new editors and partnering with institutions/organizations/governments
- MediaWiki wiki
- Operating wiki for planning, coordination, and support regarding development of the MediaWiki software, including specific enhancementts serving the Wikimedia projects
- Wikitech wiki
- Operating wiki for technical operations documentation and transaction logging, hosted separately from the main cluster
- Usability wiki
- Operating wiki originally used for two Wikimedia Foundation usability initiatives, should probably be retired in favor of MediaWiki.org
