Talk:Wikicorpus
Add topic- This project would do well in a private wiki; but I don't think it's appropriate for Wikimedia, as its concept does not match the notions of "factuality" and "neutrality" that is withheld in all other Wikimedia projects. Also, would you care to explain where the name Wikicorpus comes from? -- tonync (talk) (?) 13:00, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- This is inappropriate to wipe out "vulgar language" in literature, as literature pieces contain vulgar in many occasions, such as A Thousand and One Nights, Decameron or Tropic of Cancer. If vulgar language is a must to be kicked out, this place for literature and creation is not a place for literature at all.Father vice 02:29, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- It does indeed look like wanton censorship based on some individuals' ideas. Vulgarity can hardly even be defined except by relative terms. You could still do it by making some sort of categorization that would separate material not for mature audiences or such into an easily acceptable "clean" collection. 213.216.199.10 13:45, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Not very applicable to the purposes of wikimedia, "but the essays must not use any filthy language" is an idiotic way of attracting writers, and really not applicable to the purposes of a wiki, TBH 69.138.233.121 14:06, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- I see lots of vandalism problems... Speaking of that, why would this need to be a wiki? A forum-type site would fill the requirements far better. Alx xlA 20:17, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Forums never work and are a nightmare to archive IMHO. 213.216.199.10 13:45, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
I've been waiting for somebody to suggest something like this, but the proposer doesn't seem that convincing. If Wikimedia won't do something like this, can anyone recommend a private Wiki that does? I'm really interested in a collobrative original fiction Wiki --Occono 10:24, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
why not
[edit]this seems like a great thing to do
Only suitable for private wiki,I agree
[edit]I have nothing againt this project if it wil not belong to Wikimedia oficial projects,as it do not fits internal standards of Wikimedia and among some good stuff will lot of junk stuff flourish in this proposed project,so it is essential to keep it out of main frame. Anyways, sorry for my expression, but your policy about "vulgar" words and phrases sound like a complete elitist bullshit alongside with "mature" policy.I hope this policy wil not get accepted by general consensus and I will do anything to prevent it. Censorship must be eliminated and free uncensored spreech must be protected! So to speak. --Pieceofpeper 12:00, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
