Wikidata clarification

Does "+1 point for each corresponding Wikidata item that you improve" mean improving a Wikidata item about a work in the Met collection, or does using a Met image to illustrate a concept in Wikidata also count? - PKM (talk) 01:46, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Yes, certainly, you can use the Met images to illustrate any concept on Wikipedia or Wikidata, and those all count.--Pharos (talk) 18:44, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Does the use of the word "corresponding" mean that Wikidata edits only count if there is a corresponding Wikipedia article, or if we have edited both the Wikipedia article and the Wikidata item, or does any edit count? Sorry to split hairs... Ham II (sgwrs / talk) 19:32, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

"not needed"

Hello, I have tried to contribute to Met Challenge on the page of Vincent van Gogh (en Wikipedia), but user:Modernist as just decided to remove one of my picture today as it was "not needed" !... Regards --Cquoi (talk) 15:22, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

In some cases a major artist's page will already have many images, and it might not be the best place to put a new image. Obviously local consensus applies in each case. You might consider other places to use the image — in this case, maybe w:Copies by Vincent van Gogh#Copies after Jean-François Millet.--Pharos (talk) 16:00, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

In this case the new image looks like a reasonable addition to me, but of course this is subjective. Keep in mind also that in some cases we are replacing an older Met w:slide library scanned image ("DT" for digital transparency in the filename) with a higher-quality native w:digital photography image ("DP" for digital photograph in the filename).--Pharos (talk) 17:56, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

Translation

I translated an article of an artist (not an artwork) into another language and added 8 MET-images. I counted 8 points for myself. I saw another participant translate the same article into another language and he counted 17 points (new article +4000 bytes + 8 images). Am I wrong? DirkVE (talk) 17:57, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

@Pharos:: Creo que soy yo la aludida en el artículo de es:John Lewis Krimmel, en este casso, como también en otras ocasiones, aunque sea una biografía de un pintor, también es cierto que está muy relacionada con la colección del MET, incluso est´en las categoría: Colecciones del Museo Metropolitano de Arte. Por favor, dígame su opinión, por si tengo que borrar mis puntos o por el contrario para que @DirkVE: pueda anotarse los puntos de su artículo en nl.
