As you might have mentioned I shortened the link names a bit. I wrote "luxo's contributions" in analogy to "X!'s tool", but I think both descriptions are missleading. User:Pmlineditor suggested to have some more talks about it, e.g. "sulutil" doesn't tell anyone what the tool will show.

IMHO "Edit counters:" tells everyting, all those following links lead to different edit counters. We can't describe the different output of all four edits counters with just some words, in the end the link names will be longer than before. Best would be to use the names everyone knows: "yaec", "pcount", "sulutil" and "luxo's" (or "luxo" if you prefer).

"meta" is the wiki behind the wikis, that's why I'm not with you, Pmlineditor, conc. "newcomers". Just "KISS" - keep it small & simple! axpdeHello! 18:57, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I´ve changed them. Think that tool as description is enough, and with the x-tool we gave enough credits to the author. --WizardOfOz talk 19:06, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sounds to be a good compromise to me, did the same with MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer/de :) axpdeHello! 19:17, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

New URL of tparis' tool

[edit]

tparis' tool has been moved over to Tool Labs. Could you please replace //toolserver.org/~tparis/pcount/ with //tools.wmflabs.org/xtools/pcount/ accordingly? --whym (talk) 10:42, 23 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please check also Special:PrefixIndex/MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer/. --whym (talk) 10:44, 23 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Done, diff, diff, and diff. –Krinkletalk 22:45, 23 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Updating Q's tool

[edit]

Could we update it to [[sulutil:{{{1|$1}}}|Q's SULinfo]]? I think yes because the tools.wmflabs.org version now works great, and toolserver will be decommissioned soon. Please apply the same to MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer/de and MediaWiki:Sp-contributions-footer/ja, too. whym (talk) 11:58, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

{{editrequest}} Couple someone switch this to [//tools.wmflabs.org/quentinv57-tools/tools/sulinfo.php?username{{urlencode:{{{1|$1}}}}}= Q's SULinfo] now? It appears the interwiki no longer does what we expect it too.... (at some point I'll probably try to figure out why but for now just want to fix this). Jamesofur (talk) 02:48, 31 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Jamesofur: Q's was removed from the interwiki map due to the tool no longer being supported. I believe that the thinking was that with local-only accounts now showing in CentralAuth, that the tool, with its reported breakages, should not be a focus point. I have removed the link, and the conversation about that can occur  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:28, 31 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Billinghurst: Makes sense to me, yeah if we don't want it there I"m totally fine just removing the link. The OCD in me was mostly just annoyed by 2 links going to the same place ;). I actually think Q's tool, at least until SUL is complete, can still be useful because CentralAuth only shows local accounts IF (and only if) a global account actually exists but if that's an edge case that most people don't want then I'm happy to either continue to use it myself with a book mark or support it myself (also with a bookmark) on labs. Error for X! editcounter

[edit]

Could someone remove the wiki off metawiki in the X! edit counter link please? It breaks the URL. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 18:36, 24 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Done, thanks for reporting. --Vogone (talk) 18:41, 24 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
It should work again now, with the new XTools. @MusikAnimal: can you fix the link for XTools? Sam Wilson 22:38, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I don't have rights to edit it, but the new link would be something like [//xtools.wmflabs.org/ec/meta.wikimedia.org/{{urlencode:{{{1|$1}}}}} XTools]. Note the official name -- "XTools" (from X!'s namesake :) — MusikAnimal talk 02:36, 10 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Done @MusikAnimal: Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 08:38, 10 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Doesn't work if username has spaces

[edit]

Try with Special:Contributions/Kbrown_(WMF), click "XTools" and you get a result "The requested user does not exist". How to fix it? Stryn (talk) 20:13, 18 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Stryn: Done need to modify the output string per mw:Help:Magic words#URL data  — billinghurst sDrewth 22:01, 18 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dark mode accessibility

[edit]

Update the style in the first row from

font-size:90%; background-color:#F8F8F8; border: 1px solid #B8B8B8; padding:0.25em 1em 0.25em 1em; clear: both; text-align: center;width:100%

to

font-size:90%; background-color:var(--background-color-neutral-subtle, #f8f9fa); border:1px solid #B8B8B8; padding:0.25em 1em; color:inherit; clear:both; text-align:center; width:100%

Maybe also find a suitable substitute of color #B8B8B8. --ZandDev (talk) 02:00, 7 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
