Mixed Media Tag Love is in the Air

Hi, my talented friends! Welcome back for the new challenge! I hope you all had a great weekend! Valentines day is coming and our theme this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is "LOVE IS IN THE AIR". Let's create and show our feelings of affection and friendship with someone we love.
It is Wendy’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight. Please check her blog for the great inspiration if you haven't done so. 

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps Valentine Silhouettes and colored it with Ranger Distress Crayon Set 1. 

To start this project, I stenciled the modeling paste over the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil with a palette knife to create the texture on this size 8 tag. Then I colored the tag with various shades of Distress Paints.

On a piece of heavy white card stock, I stamped some Valentines images with Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Valentines and Simon Says Stamp Ink Pads. I stamped some text print and heat embossed it with Simon Says Embossing Powder on these stamped images. These images were then added more colors with Daniel Smith watercolors, cut and outlined with red Faber Castell Pen.

After I adhered the embellishments and Prima Flowers on the tag, I attached some sentiment stickers and Tiny Text Remnant Rubs. As the final touch, I splashed some Gesso randomly on the tag.

Mixed Media Tag Beer Alcohol Ink

Hello, my talented crafty friends, I hope you all had an awesome weekend. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our challenge theme is "Alcohol, Drinks or Inks".  We would like you to use something ‘alcohol’ on your creations, this includes alcohol ink markers, or you can choose to use images of alcoholic drinks eg, wine, beer etc.

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Tim Holtz Translucent Alcohol Ink Yupo Paper on the background, then colored it with Ranger Alcohol Inks and embellished it using Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Beer Blue Print.

To start this project, I started with applying different colors of Ranger Alcohol Inks on Tim Holtz Translucent Alcohol Ink Yupo Paper and blended the colors with a pen brush and Blending Solution. I created some Harlequin patterns by layering the Tim Holtz Layering stencil over the colored Yupo paper, and dabbed to lift the colors with Tim Holtz Applicator Tool with Alcohol Lift Ink Reinker on it. I cut and pasted this Yupo Paper on the size 8 tag that was covered with Gesso. 

On the White Yupo paper, I also colored with various shades of Alcohol Inks. Then I die cut the gear and heart embellishments. The beer image was stamped and colored with Copic Markers. The celebrate sentiment was cut with the white Yupo paper and Simon Everyday Words die and Big Shot.

All the embellishments were adhered on the tag with Tombow Mono Glue and Foam Tabs. Some more sentiments were added with Tim Holtz Metallic Stickers. I really enjoyed playing with the Alcohol Inks on different medias including the white and translucent Yupo Paper, and the glossy photo paper. The effects created using Alcohol Lift Ink Reinker and Blending Solutions are awesome.
