Friday Night With Friends

No sewing for me last night. I decided to keep working
on the rug I started Monday on our short road trip to
Adelaide to pick up our new caravan.
Rex missed me while I was away and cuddled up close
while we watched the Carlton vs Collingwood match.
I'll be adding a round of white to the blocks
to make it a Carlton rug (wink wink!).

Thank you to Cheryll for hosting us last night.
You can see what the others got up to here.

If you haven't had any replies to your comments
from me, I'm not ignoring you.
Apparently Optus is having problems with
Hotmail and Outlook emails being blocked
but they are working on it.
But I've worked out I can email you through my
Gmail account, so that's what I'll be doing until it's fixed.

Friday Night With Friends and Zooming

It's been a long time since I've joined in FNWF.
In fact, when I had a look it was back in April 2023!
Last night I worked on a secret project so not much to show you!

Thank you to Chez for hosting us.
Hopefully I'll be joining in more regularly this year.
That's the plan anyway!

Today I've spent a lovely few hours zooming with
 Chooky and the Chookshed Stitchers.
It's always so nice stitching along with these girls.

Friday Night With Friends

I only managed a little stitching last night as my eyes
were a little tired and itchy due to hay fever.
They're feeling much better this morning so I'm off to my sewing
room to attempt to put the zip in my dress!
Thanks to Chez for hosting us.

Friday Night With Friends

Last night decided to start a new project just because I can!
My Christmas Jewel decoration.
It was one of the projects I got in the Tilda Christmas
Mystery Box from Dawn at Kitty Rose Cottage.
The fabric on my left is my favourite!
Doing the prep work.
Prep all done.
Time to start sewing it together.
I got the first two sides stitched together last night.
With a bit of luck I'll finish it today.
Thanks to Chez from Gone Stitchin' for hosting us last night.

Friday Night With Friends

On Fridays I always do my housework.
So what better than to work on this little "cleaning" block!
Thank you to Chez for hosting us last night.

Friday Night With Friends

Last night I worked on the final stitchery for our
Tilda Lovers Club Windy Days stitchalong.
I'll finish this off tonight ready for when
Fee reveals the next project tomorrow.

Thanks to Chez for keeping us inspired.

Tomorrow I'll have the first two projects of the stitchalong
to show you. Just have to finish the last little bit of project #2.
I'm re-doing the binding on our first project as I wasn't happy
with it. I'll tell you all about it in my next post.

Friday Night With Friends

I am joining the Tilda Lovers Club Windy Days stitchalong.
Last night I started the first stitchery in preparation for starting.
The stitchalong is to coincide with the release
of the new Tilda fabric range "Windy Days".
The range was released yesterday and my order is on the way.

The boys and their girls gave me an accessory pack for my birthday.
You can get these from Fiona from Fee Fee and Me.

There were lots of goodies in the box. All sorts of bits
and pieces we'll need. This makes life so much
easier than trying to source everything myself.
There are also fabrics and pre-printed stitcheries.
It's great being able to do the stitcheries prior to the stitchalong so
I can take my time and not rush them when the stitchalong starts.
Thank you to Chez for hosting us last night.

Friday Night With Friends

I headed into my sewing room early and got to
work on Nelson's new quilt. The top is finished but I need to add
a panel to the backing as it isn't quite wide enough.
After I put the panel together, I found it needed extra 10 inches
or so in length for the quilter. I've been using all the leftovers
and have planned how I am going to add the extra length.
But it was starting to do my head in so I stopped before
I messed it up and will finish it today. Then I'll have to wait
until we're out of lock down to take it to my quilter.

After dinner I sat down to work on some more of my
Heartstrings stitcheries. Finished off this cute one.
And made a start on this one.
I also realised I hadn't stitched the little flower on
the caravan's flag so did that.
The pineapple block was done earlier in the week.
Thanks to Chez for hosting us last night.

Friday Night With Friends

I managed to get a little bit of stitching in early
before we headed out to dinner and the theatre.

Thank you to our lovely hostess, Chez.

Friday Night With Friends

Last night I pulled out my Tilda Christmas stitchery
while I watched a movie. Looking at this photo,
I must remember to stitch that little bird's eye!
Just one snowman to go.

Thanks to Chez for hosting us.

Friday Night With Friends

On Friday I worked a bit more on my Tilda Christmas stitchery.
I'm a bit late with my report as Friday night my phone
started to die and couldn't take any photos.
Saturday finished it off!
So now I've got a new whiz-bang phone!
Thanks to Chez for hosting us for FNWF.

Friday Night With Friends

I had a lovely night working on this little stitchery.
It is for a swap I am doing with the Tilda Lovers Club.
I'm hoping to get it put together this weekend.

Thank you to Chez for hosting us last night.

Friday Night With Friends

I finished the final block of my Lillian Elizabeth's Kitchen quilt.
This is an extra block to those of Jenny's Phyllis May's Kitchen pattern.
I decided I would add a photo of Nanny (that's what I called her).
You may remember seeing this. It is the rough layout for my quilt.
I'm pretty happy with this layout. Now I have to get my brain
working to work out the final block sizes and and then calculate
the strips of blue fabric to cut. Yesterday Mum gave me a doily
that was Nanny's and I plan to cut the circles/flowers of the doily
and add it to the quilt, along with some lace.
Thank you to Cheryll for host us last night.

Friday Night With Friends

With not being able to really go out and shop,
I've decided to make the nieces and nephews Christmas presents this year.

Last night I cut out lettering ready to be ironed down.
Also finished stitching baby Ameliana's Santa sack label.
Gave up with baby Darcie's as I kept missing single
 threads and continually unpicked.

Thank you to Chez for hosting us last night.

Friday Night With Friends

I got an early start to FNWF as I had finished all my chores
thanks to Austin, who had an RDO,  insisting on doing
the vacuuming for me. What a wonderful son!
I started off with some prep work for a swap
I am doing with the Tilda Lover's Club on Facebook.
Then I settled down on the couch last night and did a
little stitching while watching a movie.
As it's a surprise, I can only give you a little peep!
Thank you to the lovely Chez for hosting us.

Well, I'm off to my sewing room to work on the project.
I'll give you a tour of my new room tomorrow.

Softies and FNWF

Last night I finished my two soft toys for two special little girls
for their birthdays. The doll is for now 4 year old Thea
and the cat Billie's for her first birthday.
Hope it's not too long before I can see them to give their gifts.
I gave Thea's doll red hair like Auntie Christine's! LOL!

It was a bit of a learning curb making these but
I'll know what to do next time to make it easier.
Even with the hiccups, I enjoyed making them.
Thanks to the lovely Chez for hosting us.
