This quilt was put aside for a few weeks while I was diverted by stripes, big florals and spots. Only the last round of Sawtooth Stars needed to be added and all the stars were made. Then, after it was quilted, I was diverted by knitting and baby sewing. Sewed down the binding while watching tv this week.

Quilting
Karen (at Quilting on the Coast) has been busy quilting some of my quilts.
Checkerboards and Stars:
"Stripe Me Lucky"
Think I'm over making these. So in awe of the people who've been making hundreds and hundreds.
One of Jenni's friends recently had a baby boy. Jenni asked me to make him a quilt and today it went up to Karen for quilting. I've used some of my precious "Guess How Much I Love You?" fabrics.
Backing:
Tree-making is coming along. Not too many to go and I can start sewing the forest together.
The weekend turned out to be very social - lunch with The Schoolgirls on Saturday, Sunday afternoon tea with other friends and then dinner with Elizabeth, Matt and the two little ones - just lovely.

Lemon Meringue
This quilt was cut out in August last year and the final binding stitches were sewn on Sunday night. "Lemon Meringue" is a Corey Yoder design (Coriander Quilts) and it has been made with Bonnie and Camille's "Early Bird" range and their "The Good Life" fabric on the back.
"Stripe Me Lucky" quilt top is together. I have so loved making this quilt.
I have been collecting fabrics (from my stash and a few purchases) to start another Michelle McKillop quilt design - "Chinoiserie".
After all the brights, I've finally added borders to "Checkerboards and Stars"
and the last round of stars and borders to "Gelato".
These three are now on their way to Karen for quilting.
Last weekend turned out so differently than I thought - lots of fun. Mum came over for lunch on Saturday and to watch a movie. My brother also turned up for a visit and it was lovely to see him. On Sunday Gulliver was coming for the day then Elizabeth, Matt and the two little ones visited and Miss T stayed for the rest of the day with Gulliver. We all went to the pictures to see "Sonic the Hedgehog". First time I've been to the pictures since lockdown started and the isolation procedures etc were excellent. I'm not ready to take Mum yet, no matter how much she misses going.
I asked Karen to do "Baptist Clams" for the quilting and I love this design.

Short Attention Span
"Gelato" medallion quilt had come to a standstill after the half-square triangle blocks because I spent my sewing time recently working on "Aviatrix Medallion" and "Long Time Gone".
I would have started my next bright, Jen Kingwell quilt, "Gypsy Wife" but I'm waiting for some more fabrics to arrive to add to my Alison Glass and low volume stashes. Decided to start making the 52 x 4" Sawtooth Stars for the final "Gelato" pieced border.
I needed a break from those little stars, so made a few larger Sawtooth Stars for "Checkerboards and Stars". This time I'm using Bella Solid Porcelain (200) for the outer background - it's such lovely fabric.
I'm waiting for some fabric to arrive from Karen to use for the sashing stars. This quilt is very enjoyable to make - a few different components to make before it all comes together.
I've been to the office a few days this week - not many people on campus. I think this weekend will be quiet.

The Figtree and Co text fabric from Farmhouse II looks very pretty against all the different colours for the alternate squares in the checkerboard.

Progress
No finished quilt tops this week but I have been making progress on some others.
The last pieced round of "Aviatrix Medallion" is ready to be sewn together and then added to the quilt top.
After this round of butterflies there is another border of background fabric and the quilt top is finished. Karen is coming down to visit this week, so I'd love to have it finished to give her to take back to her place to quilt.
Some borders have been added to "Gelato". Next border contains a bejillion Sawtooth Stars, so there will be some tv-watching and chain piecing soon.
Karen is bringing me some FigTree background fabrics then I can start my next FigTree quilt - "Checkerboard Stars" - my version will be scrappy and I hope what I have in mind works out.
For a change from making all those butterflies, I made the next set of blocks for my "Long Time Gone" quilt - Half Square Triangles.
I have three block sets to go - Flying Geese, 60 Degree Triangles and Pineapples, then the filler blocks and sashings to put the quilt top together. I have a place in The Parlour to hang this quilt and am quite excited about finishing it. I've pretty much decided to leave off the borders and just have a narrow light grey containment border around the outside edge (same fabric as will be used for the sashings and filler block backgrounds) or maybe no border at all and just grey binding.
Tomorrow I will be picking up some quilts from Jenny (AngelCake Quilting) - Jenny most generously donated the quilting on two of these quilts. All three will be going to Keepsafe Quilts once the sub-contractor (Mum) has stitched down the bindings.
A couple of friends on Instagram were wondering how/where I store my finished quilts. Some are kept in a cupboard in the grandchildren's bedroom - most of these quilts will be given away and occasionally some are sold.
The quilts I use on my bed are kept in The Parlour in a small bookcase my Dad built for me when I was around 8 or 9. I currently have three quilts on my bed.
Quilts that are used on couches, the spare bed for visitors or to be hung on the quilt hanger, are kept in the family room.

Had a fun weekend - dinner with my trivia friends at Gail and Chris's home, followed by a game of trivia and then on Saturday little Sweetheart T came to stay overnight for the first time since social distancing came into our lives. We had a fun time and I so enjoyed her company. We had lunch with Mum before it was time for her to go home.
Gulliver's birthday is on Friday this week - can't believe he will be turning 5! These three little people definitely have my heart.

Pyjama Babies Cot Quilt
A new baby boy was born into my dear friend's family in April. I stitched out some cute designs called "Pyjama Babies" on the embroidery machine and found a very sweet fabric in Spotlight to use for the surrounding Sawtooth Stars, backing and binding.
Mum stitched down the binding and the quilt will be going to the Grandma next time I see her.
Last August, I think it was, I cut out blocks for "Lemon Meringue" a quilt designed by Corey Yoder in Bonnie and Camille's "Early Bird" range. Since then I've been making the blocks and they're now all done.
Sashings are next and then the quilt top can be sewn together.
Karen sent me another charm pack of "Catalina" and now a border has been added to "Crosswalk Charm Quilt" table topper and it is ready for quilting.
I love this "Coney Island" fabric - it's the backing for the table topper.
Another new start: "Gelato" designed by Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life. This time I've used all FigTree and Company fabrics - mostly left-over pieces from other quilts.
"Gypsy Girl" designed by Anka's Treasures is finished. I stitched down the binding while watching tv on the weekend. The FigTree and Company "Chantilly" fabrics are so pretty.
I'm part way through sewing down the binding on my red "Summer Nights" quilt - hope to finish that some time this week.
Still working from home although instead of our usual zoom meeting on Friday, we met up at a cafe for a coffee - so nice to see everyone from the office again after 8 or so weeks.
