Cinnamon Cindy Bud

It's been a long time since I have posted anything! In fact this year has been the least I have painted for a long time. I almost feel like a beginner!! Eye problems have been the main reason but hopefully it will be better when I have new glasses! This painting is the first of two...the second is the flower from this bud which I will post tomorrow.

Whenever I get time I will be painting I love the colors in the landscape here and the light is beautiful!!

Winter Rose

6"x8" oil on gessoboard
$100+s/h
Time for a change!!  I have two winter roses growing in my garden, they are so delicate...one is pink but my favorite is this green one.  I like being able to  pick a flower whenever I pass by  to stick in a jar or bottle and place in my studio.... often this leads to a painting like this one did. Keeping things simple...just the way I like it!!

Color on a Gray Day

6"x6" Oil on gessoboard
SOLD

I love the Agapanthus flower...I took this photo on a gray day when I was walking around the Estuary. There are a few of these growing along the walkway and they add such lovely color.  I loved the blue against the gray sky background!!
I'm a bit slow on the painting again...been too busy clearing out 'stuff ' so we can sell the house, I hope that will change soon!!

Pink Daisies

Drawing #34
Graphite and pastel
Daily Paintworks FB pick of the day

These pink African Daisies grow in my garden and flower most of the year. They brighten up my studio even if they are only in a tin can! I had these sitting on the bench with strong sunlight coming from behind, with no thought of drawing them! I noticed  the way the  shadow  leads your eye up to the flowers...today's drawing done!!

Agapanthus Bud

Day Fifteen-30 Paintings in 30 days
6"x8" Oil on board
$90 + s/h

Half way mark in this challenge!! I am glad I have made it this far...I enjoy painting daily but when  it has to be posted every day the pressure goes on!! I usually only post 2-3 times a week because I like to make sure I'm happy with it!
It's been a while since I have painted flowers...this is the first bud on my plant this year. I painted the flower on a dark background a few years ago...when I picked this it was a cloudy day and it looked nice against the sky color, so I thought I'd try a lighter background  this time!

Hibiscus Bud

6"x6" Oil on board

This hibiscus is from my garden, they flower most of the year and turn a darker orange in the winter....thought I would try the orange again!  I used the same palette as the persimmon and like the range of greys I can make with it! The next landscape I paint I am going to use it...stay tuned!

Shy Beauty

6"x6" Oil on board

I have this Lenten Rose growing in a pot in my garden, their heads bow gracefully and they almost look shy, but they brighten up a dull day with their flowers in colours of rose, purple, green and white.
