3 Lovely Ladies........

Have I mentioned that I have a "thing" for pitchers? Actually I have a thing for teapots too, and silverware, and lace..............well the list is endless really! But, today I'm just going to talk about 3 special ladies. These 3 are my favourites (sshhhhh don't tell the others!) and the white one with the pear and cherries is a new family member. She was sitting patiently waiting for me on a dusty shelf in a back room of the very last thrift store I stalked yesterday. It was love at first sight and we just knew we had to be together. After a good hot soak in a soapy bath, it was time to meet the other special ladies and get to work holding my cooking utensils. She's very happy now sitting up proudly on the kitchen counter helping me lovingly prepare meals for One True Love and Precious Princess. Don't you think they all look so happy together?! The photo of the shoes, well they are a new addition to Precious Princess's ever growing shoe collection, and they are just so gorgeous that we had to let them have their time to shine too!

Shopping Day!

It's school holidays here at the moment, so Precious Princess and I decided to hit the shops. We had a lovely day out together lunching and shopping. Girl bonding! Now we just have to break the news slowly to One True Love about how much we spent lol. Anyway, I have a few favourite homewares stores that I like to visit, a couple in particular I really love like, The Very Thing, and Canterbury Lace. Others I like are Relish, House & Garden, Earthborn, Bay Swiss, Pillow Talk, Bed,Bath & Table, and Robins Kitchen. Here are a few shots Precious Princess snapped for me today. I also love second hand stores and garage sales, but these are my favourite commercial stores. What are your favourite stores? Are you a shop-a-holic too?! lol

I'm going to a party!

This morning as I was sitting bleary eyed, clutching a cup of fresh hot coffee and cruising my favourite blogs, I stumbled across an invitation to a party! Woo hoo, I do love a party! Karla at http://karlascottage.typepad.com/karlascottage/2007/09/what-do-you-lov.html is hosting a romantic country party! Being the wall flower that I am, I thought I'd join in on the fun too! Karla asks what we love about our homes? Well let's see. What I love about Jacaranda Cottage is the feeling I have as I walk through the front door. Instantly I feel at home. I feel comforted and nurtured. I feel loved and protected with-in the arms of our little cottage. I love the bright happy colours that sing good morning to me each day, and I love the way the warm glow of the lamp lights see me off to bed each night. I love the cosiness and the earthiness of the stone floors and antique wood furniture. I love that there are flowers everywhere, whether they be in a picture or real, they are waving at me and encouraging me to relax and enjoy them. I do love our little Jacaranda Cottage, she's a lovely place to call home. Now, are you ready to go to the party with me?

Memory Lane

Precious Princess and I were chatting over breakfast this morning, and as it often does, our conversation led to various family members. Afterwards I got to thinking about some of the amazing women in our family, especially my Grandmothers. As I stood there in my kitchen, I started looking around at some of the beautiful things I have inherited over the years from family. The memories they evoke, and the sweet daydreams they encourage are priceless. Today I'm sharing that with you.

Whew!

Well it's Sunday afternoon and we are finally getting a chance to stop and relax by the pool. All this weekend we have been erecting fencing on our property. It was a big job, but my One True Love has done an excellent job of it! Precious Princess and I helped him where ever he needed us, and let me just say, wet cement does not wash out as well as one would hope it would..................that aside, it all went smoothly. Now we can get started on landscaping this part of our yard. I'm thinking a vegetable & herb garden would be nice. Maybe a lemon tree too? Now I am by no means a green thumb, but I am willing to work at it! We'll see though, I think One True Love has something in mind by the thoughtful pose I snapped in this picture when the job was done! Hope you've had a fun weekend too.

Would you like to come along?

We have a caravan (or travel trailer) that we use for going on our family holidays. Today I was outside checking something in the van and decided to take some photo's to share with you all. It's an 18ft, 5 sleeper. A double bed at the front, and 3 bunks at the back. Since we only have one child, our Precious Princess, we use the other 2 bunks as storage for suitcases etc. Our dog Paris Fifi always comes along on holidays too, you may be able to make out her little green bed and her very own pink bag that say "Talk to the Paw" with a little paw print on it. So cute, I just couldn't resist it when I saw it. We just won't tell One True Love how much it cost will we?! lol Hope you enjoy your tour! Now where should we go next............................................?

Dinner's Ready!

Today was my main cooking day. Once a month a cook up a month worth of dinners and freeze them into portions big enough to feed the 3 of us. Then each night I only have to cook vegetables or a salad or pasta to go with the main dish. Makes life so much easier when you are running a Precious Princess around to all her extra-curricular activities! Tomorrow is sweet baking day. Tomorrow I will bake cakes, muffins & slices. Then I'll freeze some whole, and some sliced for snacks or desserts. It's great for when unexpected visitors pop in too!

These photo's are just some of what I cooked today. The rest was either in the oven or already in the freezer before I thought to take a photo. The sweet dish I did especially for One True Love for tonight. I got this Peanut Blondie recipe from Tina at Cherry Hill Cottage. Tina has this posted on her blog and it just looked so delicious that I had to try it. Believe me when I say it is DELICIOUS! Thank you Tina! Now I had better get back in the kitchen and start on those dishes.......................

This afternoon after school Precious Princess and I decided to go see a movie that she'd been waiting to see. I can now highly recommend "Hairspray". What a delightful way to spend an afternoon together. Now ssshhhhhhh and pass the popcorn!

Good morning!

Just thought I'd share with you what I'm looking at as I sit and have my morning coffee on this gorgeous Spring day...............What a beautiful way to start the day!
